If this reprehensible administration truly wanted to protect our public health, they would drop the lawsuit to gut the ACA and stop lying about Covid-19. Be safe!

What’s funny is that in 2016 Bernie got 11% of the Black vote. Well at least he’s trending upward.

As a Black man if you’re willing to meet me half way on anything I will kick the tires, but I have to feel like you are listening to me. I want to tell you what I need before you up and tell me what I need. With Bernie when it came to African Americans it always seemed like he was talking more than he was listening. Sanders couldn’t even fake like he was listening, which is what a politician needs to be successful.

    • March 10, 2020 at 8:32 pm

I actually think it was much worse than that. It felt like a very, very, very visceral discomfort. He really made no effort whatsoever. Cannot relate to POC. Political malpractice is an understatement.

“It felt like a very, very, very visceral discomfort”

Yep, that’s what I was looking for. Every time he was asked about AA in general he’d go off on some tangent, almost like he was answering a different question than the one that was asked.

        • March 10, 2020 at 8:52 pm

He never ever felt comfortable listening to real people outside his own brand of grievance politics. We all SENSED it.

          • March 10, 2020 at 10:25 pm

To me, Sanders is a one-hit wonder. His campaign seems to be a personal vendetta against millionaires/billionaires (isn’t he one too 🤔?) and corporations.

And as far as him bragging that he didn’t vote for the Iraq War, would he have voted for *any* war?

df, Maddow is extremely professional and I heard the comment.
It was to underline that Bernie is still in the race. A professional response appealing to fairness, speaking for the group, saying “we here don’t count candidates out until the race is over”.

I believe that with VP Biden at head of the ticket, Ohio will once again be a competitive state for Democrats.

I know that many people are not focusing on Ohio yet, but it may end up being among the potential pick-up states.

After all, Ohio has its two most dominant sectors being agriculture and then the auto industry.

Ohio has Toyota, Honda, and GM plants and a whole lot of auto-parts suppliers.

    Obama-Biden won Ohio, twice.

David Plouffe, campaign manager for Barack Obama’s historic 2008 election, just released a new book, “A Citizen’s Guide To Beating Donald Trump.” I am reading it right now. You should too.⁣ ⁣ Plouffe also later served for two years during the administration as a senior advisor, as shown in these photographs. ⁣ ⁣ My intention for this post was to simply give a shout-out to David about his new book. ⁣ ⁣ But then…I came across this last photo. And had it on my computer screen the past couple of days.⁣ ⁣ President Obama is thanking David on his last day at the White House in January 2013. David was sitting next to three of his colleagues–Jen Palmieri, Dan Pfeiffer and Alyssa Mastromonaco. I was struck by how happy they looked, probably because the second inauguration had just happened a few days before and people were still in a celebratory mood.⁣ ⁣ And I began looking at the other people in the photograph. Even though they are out of focus due to shallow depth of field, I can recognize all of them. And while everyone looked so happy in the photograph, I felt so sad looking at their faces.⁣ ⁣ I see John Holdren, President Obama’s science advisor. I see Danny Russel, a State Department expert on Asia. I see Ricardo Zuniga, who went on to broker the deal to normalize relations with Cuba. There’s Chris Lu, who served in his administration all eight years. ⁣ ⁣ I’m sad because I miss them all. And everyone else in this photograph and hundreds of more that weren’t. They all followed the lead of our President. They worked hard at their jobs. They did it with dignity and honor. They weren’t perfect, but they tried their damndest to make things better for all Americans. ⁣ ⁣ And though I wasn’t particularly close to any of them, I observed how they went about their business. With high character. That’s why I miss these people. And, though you may not know them, you should miss them too. ⁣ ⁣ Let’s get some people like them back in the White House. Real soon. We need them. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣
