Good evening! I love the way our 4ever President continues to inform and enlighten his fellow citizens!

Nerdy, as always, thanks for helping to keep me sane! I also convey the thanks of my trump loving neighbor, if you catch my drift…

    Please protect our presidential candidates!!
““The first step of the process is for a candidate to meet established criteria and formally request protection. Another step of that process is for a group of bipartisan Congressional leadership, in the Congressional Protection Advisory Committee to submit a recommendation to DHS,” Ms. Swift said in an email.
“To date, DHS has not received a recommendation from Congress concerning any candidate.
We stand ready to execute if recommended.”

“The Secret Service has had teams identified, trained, and ready to deploy for months. Our men and women stand ready to execute this vital mission when a candidate makes a request through the Secretary of Homeland Security in consultation with the Congressional Candidate Advisory Panel,” spokeswoman Cathy Milhoan said. Last night I couldn’t stomach TRMS interview of the Senior Senator from Vermont and took a pass. Thank God for Amazon Prime!

          • March 5, 2020 at 9:31 am

I think it defied every convention in such hugely strong terms, a lot of people had to take a step back and think about what it portrayed. But i believe the use of color, the gentle imagery of a garden; PBO’s open, leaning forward position; the central beauty of his elegant hands; the gorgeousness of every line in his face – it just feels magnificent to me.

I was Dean of Students at the San Francisco Art Institute, where Kehinde Wiley graduated, and I saw just about ever kind of art work imaginable. I learned a lot of myself in the process.

I know it. I really, really know it. I walked there the other day, it’s just a few blocks from where I live, and I was filled with tthe beauty of the architecture of the buildings, he smell of paint, the studios filled with work and the commitment of every single student to pursue a dream our culture doesn’t value. I miss being surrounded with all that.

Elizabeth Warren can play this two ways, be a good soldier and not throw anyone under the bus or go out with a bang. But she also has an opportunity to present her vision of what she thinks American can become with the right type of leadership. Make no mistake Warren is highly intelligent, you don’t get President Obama to create a whole new agency on a whim, was because of Warren we have the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

    • March 5, 2020 at 12:56 pm

Senator Warren has a massive if not the foremost credentials in academia on bankruptcy, 6 books, etc.
Before the Senate was a Harvard prof. Family was not well off, first college cost $50 a month is why she could attend.
My mother…from very poor background and denied higher education despite scholarships because her parents, at fourteen years of age, required her to bring in a factory paycheck. She was brilliant however. Ended up in a job in charge of the payroll of millions, stunning math, verbal, and leadership skills as well as beautiful and funny as hell. Between housework, children, she had zero time and apologized for it later on. Running, running from first light. She trained up guys who would then take rank over her. And even after she trounced them all in exams, they refused to promote her over and over.
There was a family accident, then she lost triplets due to poor hospital birthing options. It was the final straw and she lost it. They retired her from work – done. I was 10 years old. Not piercing that glass ceiling after deserving it for so long sent her round the bend for 20 plus years.
Women get openly marginalized as if they are nothing.
Warren was written off by the media when she was coming for the lot of them.
She was made invisible early and demonized by fictitious stuff and memed without fact check.
Today I honor Elizabeth Warren and all the women who failed to overcome.
      She is incredible.

      • March 9, 2020 at 6:54 am

Folks always want to surmise how progressive Pres Obama was …is… he governed pragmatically. He is not an ideologue. He is a pragmatist. He was about getting things done. I think that folks have select memory. At times Pres Obama was obstructed by his own party aka “the public option”…closing Guantanamo Bay.

    • March 5, 2020 at 2:20 pm

Yes I believe Joe will listen, see reality, and let himself be updated dramatically.
The last 10 years have seen rapid change on all fronts.
This is not 2008 or even 2016.
      For example,
I believe he will surround himself with experts and young people who will guide him for example,
      on climate change.
And insist on Carbon Neutral by 2030…and… Zero Carbon by 2050.
Ending oil subsidies, the ending of fossil fuels is the only option we have.
Because there is no option, I trust that Joe will listen.
      And then act rapidly.

“Massachusetts senator and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren
has released an expansive Justice for Border Communities Plan that notably seeks to “build a 21st century border economy,” as well as roll back the Trump administration’s increased militarization of the region,
including reining in out-of-control border agents, the protection of the rights of people in the borderlands, and an immediate halt to the environmentally and culturally devastating construction of border fencing.
“We need a federal government that’s accountable to our border communities,” Warren’s plan states. “That means an immigration system that keeps families together, preserves our security, grows our economy, honors our Constitution, and reflects our values. That also means an approach to national security that respects the rights of people and our fragile border ecosystems.”

      Warren plan to stop Trumpsky:
“The plan will immediately stop construction of impeached president Donald Trump’s border fencing
that Mexico was supposed to pay for, for which he’s raided military funds, waived laws left and right, and blasted through national monument land and sacred American Indian tribes in order to erect (and all with the consent of congressional Republicans).
“Long-time residents are seeing their property carved up,” the plan states. “Wall construction puts border communities at risk of severe flooding. The Trump administration has ignored critical federal environmental protections, damaging wildlife refuges.”
“I’ve listened to communities at the border when they say we do not need Trump’s failed wall, and I will immediately stop the construction of Trump’s wall on the border between Mexico and the United States.”

“I think we as a nation and as a society need to be more agile in recognizing that new diseases do occur, and once they’ve cropped up, they very well may come again, maybe not the same but very similar,”
said LeDuc, who formerly directed influenza response efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “So it was a shame that we had to stop that work and now are having to try and restart it.”
Really important to get this out there imo. Apparently there’s a new virus in the offing….

Returning home after traveling far and not so far abroad in 2016 and 2017, I had months of recovering to do both times from serious “flus/pneumonia” with almighty coughs like nothing I’d ever experienced.
The thing was just to get through them. But thinking back they were truly unique in the way the lungs were affected. There are many strains of coronavirus, six besides this one I think, but this is the upfront killer.
Hoping the young and very young will somehow be OK.

[gasp!] You know what? Ambassador Rice would be an AWESOME VP pick. Although I had her in mind for Sec of State. Lord knows we need someone with her experience to help heal the damage the Orange Turd has done to our standing in the world. Whatever slot she wants – if she wants in – give it to her.

OMG, I just found out there’s an exhibition of Dawoud Bey’s latest work at SFMOMA. He was primarily famous for capturing AA street life but then turned a corner to begin taking photographs of the hiding places along the Underground Railroad, uninhabited. A sort of extremely compelling ghost story.

If you haven’t seen this interview with him, TREAT YOURSELF:

I heard it while in car, Question: Are they doing this at direction of trump administration, knowing what will happen to them if they go against him? Just asking…….wondering. 😳😥
