When I worked as a civilian for the Navy, we had an extra line in our position descriptions – which pretty much covered everything not described therein – and which read: “Other duties as assigned.”

Apparently Symone has that same line in hers. LOVE IT.

        For sure! 😄

      • March 4, 2020 at 3:33 pm

Yeah, I performed a lot of those “Other duties as assigned.” Some were a bitch; others like serving as a WH social aide or playing a round of golf with Bush41, were an absolute delight!

I remember your mentioning your WH days, but not sure I ever heard the golf story!!!! Fabulous.

          • March 7, 2020 at 12:13 am

1990, stationed at MCAF, Quantico. Arrived at work one morning and the XO asked if I golfed; answer “sort of, but not really; had it one semester each year in HS gym class.” His response “good, you know which end of the club to hold. Go home, change and report to the club house by 930. WH called, the CinC wants to play a round with some junior officers.” Rather than go home, I picked up slacks and a top at the PX and beat feet to the course. Had the Pro work with me for an hour or so so that I didn’t look like a complete idiot out there. I was straight up with 41 about not playing a round in 16 years, he was gracious, gave me pointers at each hole, even dropped a ball on the green for me when we all knew mine was in the sand trap.

I had that thought about Liz, too. But then I got to thinking I can’t really picture either Bernie or Liz wanting to work for somebody else, at this point in their lives. I think they both see themselves as “large and in charge” or bust.

Hope she “resists” that, in any event, since I’m not for Bernie.

    “Pence Hates Science.”
““Mike Pence literally does not believe in science…
It is utterly irresponsible to put him in charge of U.S. coronavirus response as the world sits on the cusp of a pandemic. This decision could cost people their lives. Pence’s past decisions already have. He is not a medical doctor. He is not a health expert. He is not qualified nor positioned in any way to protect our public health.””

    • March 4, 2020 at 1:17 pm

So if he had one or 2 brain cells:
In the interests of living longer,
Trumpsky the germaphobe wouldn’t have destroyed the agencies that address pandemics and diseases,
or muzzled brilliant CDC scientists Fauci and Schuchat.
If he wasn’t beyond clueless he wouldn’t have appointed ignorant, anti-science, bigoted, creationist Pence
to be his (impossible to coverup) pandemic mouthpiece.

    • March 4, 2020 at 1:18 pm

“Trump is a Trojan horse for a cabal of vicious zealots who have long craved an extremist Christian theocracy,” Jeremy Scahill wrote for The Intercept in November of 2016,
“and Pence is one of its most prized warriors.”

This is why we vote in the primary and in November … 3,000 conflicts of interest (and that’s just in this one category):

  22. March 4, 2020 at 1:30 pm

    Authoritarian Trump:
“has imposed an audio and video blackout on coronavirus briefings
    so that Americans
can’t see or hear the updates on the outbreak…
Trump is always more interested in manipulating political perception than he is doing the actual working of governing.”

“Democrats are insisting the spending package include significant funding to purchase large amounts of coronavirus diagnostics, treatments and vaccine, when it becomes available, which would then be made available to the public free of cost, according to a senior Democratic aide.”

    • March 4, 2020 at 1:56 pm

      1) COVID-19 vaccine will be free via a provision in the Affordable Care Act.
      2) SCOTUS right wing is well aware of how many Americans will die if they trash the ACA.

    • March 4, 2020 at 2:10 pm

Does the Trumpsky party want to keep COVID-19 out of Congress?
We know GOP has a penchant for killing people and putting Pharma profits first.
e.g. openly killing people in red states by blocking Medicare Expansion.
COVID-19 testing and vaccine must be free to ALL.

The market has a mind of its own!

Markets rally as the Dow closes up nearly 1,200 points on hopes of a Biden nomination and a coronavirus spending deal in Congress

After Joe Biden had a Super Tuesday run that set him up for a showdown with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), all three major indexes ended the day surging after Tuesday’s losses. The tech-heavy Nasdaq and the S&P 500 both closed up nearly 4 percent.
