I like Mayor Pete I’m sure he’s a good guy and he probably never stole a freight train. I’m sure he has ambitions beyond being a Mayor of a decent sized city. But yesterday after it became apparent that he was going drop out of the race everyone on twitter was suggesting that he be “GIVEN” a cabinet position. Excuse me but what has Pete done to deserve such a distinguished position. Every female candidate had to earn every position they’ve attained. Kamala, Amy, Warren, those women had to fight tooth and nail and scratch for whatever they got. So please spare with this “awwww Pete deserve something” bullshit. In politics they don’t hand out fucking participation trophies. Pete needs to get his ass out their and put the work in and then maybe if he’s lucky he’ll get something.
This kind of stuff has turned into a parlor game on twitter. One thing people are not realizing is that every single department and agency in our government has been torched, trashed and vaporized by an entire gang of idiots and corruption specialists. It’s going to take seasoned professionals to help put things back together on every single front. Thousands of people have walked away from their jobs or have been fired. It will take years and years to restore even a functioning government FOR THE PEOPLE. I hope whoever wins has the good judgement to hire seasoned professionals who have deep experience in restoration.
Absolutely meta and Don. I think it is going to take years to assess and correct the damage trump has done in just three. I worked for the civil service and know how necessary these people are to the every day functioning of our lives. I am sick of the “don’t trust government” meme. I blame Reagan for starting this, and the rethugs for perpetuating and driving it. Without government we are barbarians.
While the women had to fight tooth and nail and scratch for whatever they got, I don’t see that as a reason to preclude Pete from serving in the next Dem administration. He is just one of many under 50 talents in the party. I sincerely hope that a Dem administration WILL NOT cannibalize the legislative branch, but will instead, draw the cabinet from those talents that are out of office.
I’m not saying to preclude Pete, what I’m saying is that Pete doesn’t automatically get to go to the front on the line when it comes to getting a position in a Dem Administration.
Let the proclamation state that on this day, March 2, 2020 12:36 p.m. central standard time that jazziz2 and Don entered into an agreement as it relates to the future employment of Pete Buttigieg. Amazing that now that Joe is making a comeback, this BS story rises again. The newstainers shouldn’t give it any notice as it’s not a legitimate story. They’ve learned nothing from 2016…
Re: The latest BS from the Sanders crew…..re: burning the Convention down….This is the same Bull S*** Sanders said when he ran against Hillary Clinton 2016…I will say again!!!….WHEN FOLKS SHOW YOU WHO THEY ARE…BELIEVE THEM!!…
Numerous people across multiple government agencies have known about this but not disclosed it. The concerns about the Atlanta lab were raised in a conference call Thursday w multiple agencies including HHS, FDA, CDC. https://t.co/3x8M0iP5zp
We're all getting a little sick of Sanders and his "corporate wing" of the Democratic Party BS. What he means is the non-socialist part of the party. What he means is the heart and soul of the party. He's frustrated because in 4 yrs he's not been able to expand his base at all https://t.co/tRPiHyRwBg
They are all anti-corporation and anti-pac money until they actually need pac money and corporation fund raising. Super Pacs and corporations aren’t the problem when you’re trying to make significant changes that benefit middle and poor America. Just look at everything President Obama was able to accomplish, and he did it without once uttering the word “oligarch” or get rid of the billionaires. Do you think Alabama or Kentucky is in the trouble they are in because of some oligarch, no. They are in trouble because of the way they vote.

Thank you, yes.
You know when you think someone knows what you’re thinking because you’ve been up front about your views, and you’ve been on the same team for so long? Am just one voice here, but am thinking my intentions may be misunderstood. We’re on the same side. The Dynamic Duo has had my heart and soul since the first possible moment! Like many here I was focused on the Obama issues blow by blow, moment to moment. And during those years we learned that policies in Congress always get watered down. And now we see the world getting dystopic FAST. Corporations are ever on the ascendance…candidates owe them…and we now have a Bloomberg.
1) We need very, very strong positions and policies from the get-go. Woolly or lazy today will not make the cut.
2) Biden needs the Young Vote to make it all the way – and Sanders is flat-out commandeering that Vote.
3) So Joe must be clear, current, and proactive on lots of issues and let us hear more about them.
For example:
Our children are learning they’ll be trying to survive terrible climate changes when we’re gone – yes that soon! Paris deal compliance basically zero….global emissions are uniformly worse. 2030 is the first climate deadline to meet and No escaping it. We’re all wasting our breath and merely playing linguistic political kabuki without this very basic building block to protect our species.
—My point: Joe must get into the weeds and step up if he wants the Votes to win.
—It is because I love him, care for, and want to protect all Americans that I say this.

All kidding aside, would love to know if your facial expression changes when you look at each person and figure out how they’re individually voting. That would be fun to watch. 🙂

Somebody asked me the other day why I’m voting for Biden. It’s so SIMPLE, people.
He’s an honest and decent person. He speaks truth.
His heart is in the right place.
He has a clean conscience.
He’s served this nation honorably, especially as VP to the most honorable man ever to be POTUS. He’s learned from the BEST.
He can and will restore our reputation globally because he’s been in the room where it happened.
He is a lifelong SOLID Democrat who holds Democratic values.
He appears to have a healthy ego, not given to neediness and self-absorption.
He is a family man who knows the value of love and compassion.
It is. But like a wild dog, he supported by the Berniebros, will want to burn the house down rather than slow down his serial-socialist free stuff promises.

I remember last time, it was just a couple days out from the election, and he made a big deal of coming out and saying Trump and his supporters weren’t racist. I think that left a very, very, very bad taste in their mouths.

Most have seen the (a) challenging of sitting members and forcing them to spend their little general election money; (b) swearing to destroy the party and ” the establishment”

Cyberwarfare is modern style warfare.
“In law, treason is criminal disloyalty, typically to the state.
It is a crime that covers some of the more extreme acts against one’s nation or sovereign. This usually includes things such as participating in a war against one’s native country, attempting to overthrow its government…A person who commits treason is known in law as a traitor.” (wiki)

“How do you design a building for people who can’t hear?”
“A surprising 1 in 8 people in the United States experiences hearing loss…an estimated 1 million Americans are profoundly deaf and use American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate.
For them, the modern world is often an interruption waiting to happen.
Lines of sight are broken, narrow walkways and stairs prohibit chatting, and conversations are limited in a crowd…
An exciting architectural project called DeafSpace has been rethinking public spaces for the deaf.
It was launched almost a decade ago by Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., the largest university for deaf students in the United States. New university buildings have glass walls and multilevel open spaces for group discussions — with screened-off areas for private conversations.
Some of these simple but effective designs are now being incorporated into nearby commercial businesses, including coffee shops and restaurants that cater to Gallaudet students.
The school is hoping to educate architects around the country about the needs of the deaf community.”

I remember last time, it was just a couple days out from the election, and he made a big deal of coming out and saying Trump and his supporters weren’t racist. I think that left a very, very, very bad taste in their mouths.
Many people can see and hear what he and his supporters are doing and saying.
Most have seen the (a) challenging of sitting members and forcing them to spend their little general election money; (b) swearing to destroy the party and ” the establishment”

95% of delegates are still up for grabs.
Looks like Biden will pick up endorsements from Pete and Amy. Progressives’ best hope to win this primary is @ewarren
. She can turn out progressives and attract more moderates from Biden than Bernie can.

Now, it’s coming back. Early on, he made a disparaging comment about Obama as if Obama had not done enough or could have done more but chose not to.
Oh? I missed that.
Dallas Mayor is also Endorsing Joe Biden tonight.

–prob very deaf Dad would’ve found this fascinating.
Fun fact about the Gallaudet University Bison,
America’s only college football team for the deaf and hard-of-hearing:
“The first football huddle was invented by the Gallaudet Bisons, the school’s football team, so that opposing players couldn’t interpret their signs as they call plays.” (hill)

They are staging a coup against Bernie!
You nailed it!
Chris Matthews last Hardnall was today
WOW…Tweety is leaving …tonight is his last night
Yeah. It had to happen
I think his leaving tonight was unexpected…
Yes. That last first-person story – was it last week? – finally got him gone. His announcement was good – he didn’t blame others. Pretty smart for a guy still thinking he can act like it’s the 1960s.
Exactly
Bye Felicia
OMG!!
I am all ears … to many things happening at once … what is it you are referring to?
Chris Matthews…just quit…i do not they expected him to leave tonight
Chris Matthews announces retirement, mutually parts ways with MSNBC
Matthews was due to retire in the near future with the events of the past week playing a factor in the timing of the move, an MSNBC spokesperson said.

At my age, I’m reminded of the quote (paraphrased here) by Gloria Steinem:
“Now they call it sexual harassment. We used to just call it life.”
Emily’s List endorses Elizabeth Warren
Fabulous. I am so damn proud of our Democrats who are doing what’s right for We The People, our country, and our party.
Haha! Craig Melvin on MSNBC literally just said “the moderates are getting in formation” as I read you post here! 😆😆😆
Beto is endorsing Joe Biden. Yay.
Beto O’Rourke will also endorse Joe Biden Tonight, per MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki
This was great.
RE: the Trump administration’s response to the Coronavirus…we all should remember how he responded to the crisis in Puerto Rico…a disaster…that led to a death toll of nearly 4000 people….
i am very afraid for our country
Steve Kornaki’s closing statements regarding Chris Matthews made him human in my eyes for the first time. I can’t stand his maps and detailed stats county by county, middle of nowhere by middle of nowhere. No more a robot or a number guy. He was human. Interesting.
Fine with me either way
😀
LOL!

Wanted to say so much more, but words are escaping my vocabulary. Sheer sadness. All I can say, don’t ever let one week go by or think your fam or loved one must be busy because he/she isn’t responding to yr calls, or knock on door. It’s godawful to find out that loved one has been long gone, alone in apartment or home. That’s what I found. And had to figure thru the emotional & legal quagmire. That’s where I’ve been.
Thank you TOD Fam for your posts. They all helped me find joy. Grand Thanks NW!
Gazelle, I’m so sorry for your loss. 😢🙏
