Not alone! I literally feel sick. And, to make matters worse (if that’s possible) , I am locked inside a car with my Republican husband. Things mighty quiet after we attempted a conversation awhile ago. I asked him in all seriousness if he thinks our democracy will survive. ā€œI think our Constitution will survive. I don’t think one branch of our government can bring down our democracy.ā€ I tried convincing him that we don’t have a DOJā€”ā€”ā€œThat’s the way it’s always been. The DOJ is part of the executive branch.ā€ He would never answer when I asked him if we have ever had a AG who functioned ONLY as the personal attorney/Fixer for the president. Crickets. He says I listen to Democratic PROPAGANDA. I asked if it is propaganda when we hear how this person got fired and someone else got fired and patriots got marched out of the WH, is that propaganda?? I told him: That can ONLY be a yes or no answer. I repeated that two times. He refused, refused to answer yes or no. Started what every right wing caller does on the radio —-try to turn the tables….. I can’t type any,ore

I feel for you. BREATHE! I’m sure it is beyond frustrating, however, as you are stuck in the car, why pursue a political conversation? For my own mental health, when dealing with someone with a divergent view, I only have those type of conversations when I can walk away if it gets heated or frustrating. jm $0.02

I have spent many hours trying to convince both my brothers against Trump. Both are strong Trump supporters. It is heart breaking to me. I view Trump supporters as extremely selfish and have a hard time viewing my brothers in that group. I have come to the conclusion it is best for me to just avoid all political discussion with them.
My adult children, their spouses and in-laws as well as my first time voter grandchild are all voting Dem. That is my hope and refuge. I am with one of my children for a month now and that helps a lot too.

Good new day TODVille. Midnight where I am.

Midnight in my heart as I fear that Putin is celebrating the victory of his favorite serial socialist tonight. He tried helping the senior senator from Vermont in 2016 by hardening the hearts and minds of many Berniebros who rather stayed at home or voted for the Con Artist from NY.

As Bloomberg feared, a general election between a Con Artist with unemployment below 4% and a serial socialist who is vilifying wealth in a capitalist country, I don’t what the odds to topple Orange Man are.

I’ll vote for Bernie in my sleep if he is the nominee. However, him heading to be the nominee is what keeps me up at night.

SO. Let me get this straight: Russia is working to help Bernie. Bernie is winning. prez fuckface launches an effort to damage Joe with dirt manufactured by a foreign government. He gets caught in his treason red-handed, but slithers out of it like he has all of his privileged, disgusting, criminal life. And? Joe gets damaged ANYWAY.

“Starting in the fall of 2020,
the University of Southern California will begin phasing in a policy that would make tuition free
for students enrolling whose family makes less than $80,000 a year.
According to the new policy, homeownership would not figure into the school’s policy,
which is very good news for many families. In a news release, USC’s President Carol L. Folt is quoted as saying, ā€œThis significant step we are taking today is by no means the end of our affordability journey. We are committed to increasing USC’s population of innovators, leaders and creators regardless of their financial circumstances.ā€

10 Billion bucks for Climate Crisis:
“Multi-billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has just launched a new fund which will issue grants to charities and innovators working to fight the climate crisis.
Bezos announced the creation of his Bezos Earth Fund on Instagram this week.
According to the post, Bezos will begin doling $10 billion in grants to environmental groups starting this summer.
ā€œClimate change is the biggest threat to our planet,ā€ wrote Bezos. ā€œI want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share.”

    Cleanest fuel we have:
“In an ambitious bid to cut the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions,
India is now ensuring that all diesel and gas stations will only be supplying the cleanest fuel.
Starting on April 1st, India will join the ranks of the few world nations offering Euro-VI grade fuel, which only contains 10 parts per million (ppm) of sulphur in contrast to the 50 ppm in Euro-IV fuels.
India is reportedly the first country to ever transition directly from IV-grade fuels to VI-grade. Not only that, they managed to achieve the transition in just three years.”

“The ā€œgreen portā€ infrastructure means that 12 of the country’s biggest seaports are exclusively using renewable energy to power their daily operations. Not only that, the ports can use the energy to electrically power ships as they are docked.”

        February 23, 2020 at 9:41 pm

I *think* I get that you support Bernie Sanders, which is really none of my business. I’m curious though. Pause falling for Putin’s play, free education, free medicare, free whatever for a bit, have you HONESTLY seen Sanders display ANY skills that suggest he’d be able to *help* restore America’s standing on the world stage? The USA’s credibility abroad has taken many hits in the past 3 years. Can you see Bernie doing much, if anything to help in this area? Have you seen any evidence Sanders is able to reasonably negotiate with others? Sure I’ve heard the young people like him, but I have never *seen* any evidence of compassion in him for anyone; have you? We’d all agree that the presidency requires intelligent leadership; how is Sanders’ leadership showcased by those working for him? I really don’t understand his appeal. What am I missing re Bernie Sanders?

I ask these questions not to be facetious, not to criticize you in any way, but because I’m genuinely puzzled that I’m missing something. When I’ve seen Sanders over the years (only on line, mind you) I’ve never seen someone I could trust. He has always seemed disdainful of others and irascible, full of himself too. I cannot remember having seen Bernie in a situation where he seemed personable and/or comfortable. In fact, I could substitute ‘comfortable’ for natural. It’s like he’s always putting on a show. IMO, particularly succeeding trump, USA and the world need an American president who is more than one dimensional, one who can function intelligently and calmly in each area of government, not just talk ad infinitum about ‘corporations, the richest 10%’ and hedge funds’. I don’t know about Sanders. I really don’t.

I know that this is all very tragic,,but these are the choices that Americans are making…they chose Trrump in 2016…because although he won thru the electoral college…63 million folks voted straight up for Trump and the GOP has enabled him every step of the way…

This primary started off with so much Promise…but now unless Joe Biden can pull off what he says he can…well you know…

but i will continue to organize..make phone calls…and donate to Biden…as long as he is in the race….but know this…if Bernie Sanders is the nominee…all bets will be off…he will not get my vote…i will work to promote down ballot candidates in my state…#NuffSaid…

Didn’t we commit to voting for the Democratic nominee?
Am for Elizabeth Warren first choice and have talked about it.
However I recognize that young people want Bernie, they really do. They want a fighter, as do many grown-ups!
We need an aggressive fighter for our future, e.g. It’s recognized all over the world that we must be carbon
    net neutral by 2030.
