Bloomberg has been all over my teevee w/ ads. Now, the latest ads, he’s got PBO front & central in his messaging. And some of those photos of PBO are early in his 1st term. My question: why all of a sudden is it so important to attach themselves to PBO’s legacy? Well now. Black votes matter, Latino votes matter, POC matter. And who’s the most identifiable President for all these voters? Yup!
Now, if Moscow Mitch starts those PBO ads in Kentucky, am going to place myself in my “corner chair” w/a flask of moonshine! Icky. So glad you mentioned that! When I first saw that Bloomberg had “used” President Obama in his ad, I was really angry. There is little chance he asked permission first, so he’s misrepresenting, in my book, big time – which is extremely telling about what kind of a person he is, some of which we already knew from his time in NYC.
Now that I’m venting, I’m also totally annoyed with David Axelrod. I’ve always had the feeling he did not keep a good relationship with President Obama after working for him. Not sure that I ever saw any facts to lead me to that, but I’ve had the feeling. Axelrod was able to “use” his relationship with the Obama campaign and admin to stay viable and on TV, even now. So, now, he’s putting down Joe Biden as part of his responses on panels on CNN, every chance he gets. He goes one step shy of mocking Joe’s speech patterns, even after Joe has revealed more than just this week (for those listening, he’s shared it before this campaign) that he still has trouble with mild stuttering when he’s “really tired.” David Axelrod shared years ago that he has a grown daughter with epilepsy. I’m sure beyond 100 percent that President Obama and VP Joe gave him all the empathy they felt about that, being the type people they were and continue to be. But today David finds it okay to almost cross the line in commenting about Joe’s speech patterns. He’s not saying so much that Joe isn’t getting his point across, it’s more like mocking him for how he talks, in my mind. Who knows, but had to get that off my chest!
Whether Joe’s the nominee or not, I’m for keeping civility in this never-ending campaign. But sometimes I want to hit certain people with a board. (I like to turn to that expression, because I’ve never hit anybody with a board in my life, and it makes me calm down and laugh every time. The end.)
GGail – Rich white candidates like tRump and Bloomberg think black people will fall for their schtick. You are WAY smarter than that! In the unlikely event Bloomberg becomes our nominee, I will hold my nose and vote for him to defeat #AgentOrange. ggail, Let me explain why I post the things I do. I have a lot of FB friends who are very conservative and more than that, they get all their “news” from Fox and/or right-wing radio. They live in their right-wing bubble and all of them are either ill-informed or not informed at all. I know that none of them click on the story and read it. My hope is that at least as they scroll past it, they read the headline. Maybe, maybe not, but that’s my HOPE. I do KNOW that a few of my childhood friends (and couple of them also cousins) have begun to step out of the shadows and ‘like’ or ‘love’ my posts and even occasionally post a short comment. I take that as progress.
