The most important act that each of us can do is vote. Each and every election… and get others to do the same.

    This is scary

OMG. Earlier today I had a creepy feeling that something was going to happen to trump at Davos, connected in some way to Russia. Eek. I don’t want him being a martyr, so hope not.

In this case, glad the Swiss are on the job!

Good morning, df. Wishes for a good day with the kiddos. 🙂. Yes, crazy train and then some. I heard on LOD that one of the things they will be doing is handling the media. UGH! Spread those lies.

Love the selfie. 💕. That made me smile. 🙂

Morning to you, sweetness! Have a great day. Hold on. The lies are gonna fly fast and furious. I have no illusions that he’s going to be removed as he should be. They have all showed us who they are… they will keep the village idiot in power because they tell him what he wants to hear and he does what they want. Foreign and domestic. But the majority of people aren’t as stupid as they think we are. Their short term gain will yield a whole shit ton of pain. That is my wish for all these traitors. The truth will come out and the people will see all that were complicit in this massive criming. Wouldn’t it be nice to have them all locked out if government for many generations? We shall see. All I know is, this will not be fair by any stretch, Roberts better bring his balls and his gavel, and this is not the way people that are innocent act.

I would try to time it so that the important stuff would be in prime time and be done pretty quick after that. So the American people could see/ hear…. not done in the middle of the night, as McConnell wants.

  30. January 21, 2020 at 12:18 pm

    imo,
The media consistently faults those who’ve brought their ideas on complex issues.
For example ideas and plans about health care are criticized for not being near-legislative actionable quality. Impossible demands = more convenient excuses for the big corporates to go after the feared candidate who has the audacity to challenge them.
Then the right wing media and various medias back them up, social media discredits them…you know the routine.
Meanwhile moderate candidates who have said little on the topic get away with status quo responses.

    • January 21, 2020 at 12:20 pm

I need JOE to speak up and out on climate action for starters.
The world is looking to the U.S. to get real.
Capital is putting pressure our environment more not less every day.
It is common knowledge that we need a plan for 2030.
      Joe’s 2050 plan….is way, way too late.

    • January 21, 2020 at 12:22 pm

Then I need JOE to say his plans:
For ending the Billions$ in oil subsidies, ending the sale of Oil leases,
getting tax revenue from corporations + wealthy, undoing Trump executive orders on e.g. our Environment and the EPA, take a hard look at the military budget, human rights protections, and legalize marijuana,
If he wants a chance at the YOUNG DEMOCRAT vote:
How about VP Biden goes from leaning on “Hey I already did (whatever it is) it long before all of youse”,
and actually puts it out there
      so we can see it.

  31. January 21, 2020 at 12:24 pm

If he wins the nomination I will vote for Joe Biden. But this is not the time for a moderate response.
The neo-fascists are here right now, today. We need forward-looking progressive action.

Who knew the day would come where the American Senate would protect a compromised president and therefore be complicit with foreign interference. I read in DU that the GOP = Guardians of Putin.

I think the managers should try referring to the GOP members as ‘Honourable Republicans’ or something like that- similar to how Caesar described Brutus. Tactical subtle dig … then again, with this special least patriotical bunch, nothing would change any of the Repubs to grow a spine.

This rumor about VP Biden’s testimony possibly being traded for Bolton’s…..wow.
IF there’s any substance to this then imo, No, No, No!!
You can bet Bolton would be sewn up tight and then Doom will get what he was seeking from Ukraine = some kind of anything fake about Biden.
–These GOP Tools of Russia can fake video, fake audio, all kinds.
–If VP Biden intends to be president, imo he CANNOT participate in any such scheme.

If the Democrats allow Joe Biden to be forced into being called into this trial (aka sold down the river) and/or Hunter Biden, then they aren’t as smart as we thought they were. It’s playing directly into trump’s hands. Who needs Ukraine’s help, if the RWNJs in Congress can pull that off on behalf of their king?

      • January 22, 2020 at 5:55 am

Democrats should NEVER EVER play Republican games. They should never agree to one iota of this because this should not be about the Bidens having to prove ANYTHING in this regard. MOREOVER, Joe Biden is ahead in the polls right now. WHY oh WHY mess with that in any way, shape or form???? NO NO NO NO.

It has been very trying for me to avoiding cussing out some candidates running on the Democratic party ticket.

I do not know how much longer I can hold down my anger at the candidates who have disgusted me most.

I wish people would remember that destroying things is easy, but building or really hard and is accomplished by very few.

Having once met and talked with Beau Biden when he gave a talk here about common sense gun reform with Kamala Harris a few years back, he was an incredibly good man, a warm and super kind spirit, a bright light. I can’t imagine the pain Joe must live with every day.

One of the reasons I will forever hate and despise Individual 1 and his republican enablers (and anyone in who behaves like them) is the constant pain they cause VP Biden as they seek political power.

I am angry at how they have shamelessly used Joe’s children to question Joe’s integrity. Attack him on policy, but leave his already hurting heart alone

    • January 22, 2020 at 10:53 am

Saw VP Joe on his book tour. At that time he was clearly still in mourning. Running when he’d earned a real retirement…it says a lot about him. Just thinking of this, am grateful to all the candidates for stepping up in such a dark hour.

    c/o Benen:
“From the eruption of the Ukraine controversy in September to the Senate trial that officially began on Thursday, relentless deceit has seemed to be Trump’s primary defense strategy in the court of public opinion. He has made false claims about almost every separate component of the story, from his July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to the whistleblower who complained about the call, to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s own relations with Ukraine.” (Daniel Dale, CNN)
–Dale’s report documents 65 specific claims Trump has made about the above = All false.

    Chairman Nadler:
“The only reason to oppose bringing a witness is to cover up, because we’re afraid of what the witness will say. The question before the Senate is do the republican senators want to be complicit in the cover up of the president? Any senator who votes to deny a witness, who votes to deny evidence, is voting to cover up the president’s crimes and subversion of the Constitution. There is no other way about it.
There is no conceivable reason to deny witnesses, to say you cannot bring in the evidence, that representatives cannot bring in the evidence. No reason…There is no trial in this country in which you wouldn’t admit relevant witnesses, in which it’s even a question.”
