A third NC GOP congressman who owed his career to gerrymandering is calling it quits after his district got redrawn. However, #NC11 has trended redder since Meadows first won it, & the GOP is still favored to hold it. Still, Dems came within 5% there in 2018 statewide court races https://t.co/ppXrn1XQ9C
GOP Rep. Mark Meadows is retiring in #NC11. The new district backed Trump by 17% in 2016, but that was an overperformance: Dem Gov. Roy Cooper lost it by only 6% that same year. Dems lost it by 5% in 2018's statewide court races, which was just 1-2% redder than in the new #NC08https://t.co/I1TB5bqPgs
Trump has confirmed more judges rated unqualified by the ABA than any other President. You have to work hard to get that rating – things like never tried a case or thinking it's ok to inject your bias in court proceedings. Learn more: https://t.co/eEPzLAQZO0
If they are uniquely unqualified hopefully their verdicts will get overturned by a higher court, but that is a hell of a way to assure the public that the courts will be fair and impartial.
PELOSI: "I heard of what some of Mitch McConnell said today, & it reminded that me that our founders, when they wrote the Constitution, they suspected there could be a rogue POTUS. I don't think they suspected that we'd have a rogue POTUS & a rogue Senate leader at the same time" pic.twitter.com/T13BaIWaa5
Pelosi on Trump suggesting John Dingell is in hell: "Let us pray for the president … think of what he said about John McCain & his supporters just overlooked that. Now John Dingell. What POTUS misunderstands is that cruelty is not wit … it's not funny at all. It's very sad" pic.twitter.com/WqtQwEcK6p
Having already explained to reporters that she wants a fair process in the Senate and is waiting and seeing what McConnell will do, @SpeakerPelosi asks them if they have any questions on the other pressing issues in Congress.
The president has abused his power—using his office to further not the nation's objectives but his own personal, political objectives—and, together, we are holding him accountable. Feel proud. Keep going.
‘Ms Ginsburg, speaking in a wide-ranging conversation with the BBC's Razia Iqbal, also implied that senators who have already expressed their verdict in the president's likely impeachment trial should be disqualified.’https://t.co/tkddjLbTBi
He either knows and is fine with it, and is therefore a traitor, or he doesn't know and is ignorant of it completely, and is therefore an idiot. Either one is disqualifying. https://t.co/RnOO91KsM3
For years now, professional journalists have accepted this response to all questions about the president’s sick and disgusting behavior. Try a follow up. Try being aggressive. Try acting like journalists.
Travis is a Republican, but he doesn’t recognize Lindsey Graham anymore. So, he took the time to come listen about how we are putting South Carolinians at the core of our campaign and now, he’s a part of #TeamJaime! pic.twitter.com/YGHjjPOImi
#JohnDingell didn’t grab women by the pussy Or lie re bone-spurs; he fought in WWII Or pay hush money to strippers Or have convicted minions Or suggest death penalty for 5 innocent men Or put kids in cages Or steal from a charity Or get IMPEACHED
These are KLAN tactics combined with a Russian psyop known as PROJECTIVE LYING. #TrumpTerorism is going to use this technique to incite violence against African Americans. https://t.co/gyejwAvOuF
An American president must be able to choose between right and wrong, good and evil, fascism and freedom.
Taking a stand is the job.
Trump is being impeached because he doesn't understand that. @TulsiGabbard's refusal to take a stand isn't courage, it's a moral failure. https://t.co/UwYXjbEOO1
NEW: One former senior White House official said Trump even stated so explicitly at one point, saying he knew Ukraine was the real culprit because “Putin told me.”https://t.co/BY61p5OqLj
Y'all, this is a big damn deal: "Christianity Today", which is the biggest publication in the world of Evangelical Christianity, has come out in support of not just impeachment but *removal" of Donald Trump.https://t.co/BRzJD2AazT
Top evangelical magazine @CTmagazine, founded by Billy Graham (Franklin's dad), breaks rank to say Trump should be impeached. Seems its website has crashed with the traffic. https://t.co/3KG7OUKwhQ
The final Democratic primary debate of 2019 is one of the best remaining chances for the seven contenders taking the stage to impress voters before primaries start in 2020.
– McConnell admits he doesn't want a Senate trial – Trump may not get his acquittal – Evangelical publication "Christianity Today" calls for Trump's ouster – Trump's allies are running away from him – Trump is going to prison – It's still only 6:30pm
TRUMP must be voted out/booted from office because he is incompetent! The United States is a laughingstock. Imagine this happening under any other administration:#WakandaForeverhttps://t.co/X7dmenleoZ
Seems like for awhile that happened, but Pete and Elizabeth then Amy and Pete got into going back and forth arguing. They are playing into the Republican hands. Joe did start getting more questions again.
Everyone of our candidates would be 1000% better than the cruel criminal garbage we have now. I love Joe. He worried me for a while when he was so wobbly, but he’s doing better and he’s great. Elizabeth is whip smart and caused the CFPB. Amy bugged me a lot for a while and maybe still does, but, I’m sorry she’s a great debater and obviously very smart. I was dismissive of Andrew Yang, but after getting to see him I like him. too! I could go on and on and on. My least favorite has long been Bernie. Have to admit tonight he’s shown he’s a very smart, and passionate OLD man.
My original favorites were Kamala and Julian. (That didn’t work out, but maybe VP?)
PLEEEASE DON”T Go TRIBAL!! We MUST fervently support the the Democratic nominee whoever it is.
I consider myself a moderate so I still like Joe. I was impressed with Amy tonight. I think Pete is a moderate too. I even liked Tom Stier.
I love Elizabeth. I love her passion for helping people, but that same passion seems to blind her towards smaller steps to get towards her goal. So many times she is like Bernie my way or the highway. Maybe I just prefer Warren in the Senate or the economic administration department.
I am still sad about Kamala being gone and would have liked Cory Booker there. I got mad at Julian’s attacks about the second debate.
Bernie has been nothing but a seat holder in Congress, Eliz showed us who she was when PBO called her Elizabeth, Amy is a good backstabber who knows how to say what she thinks will get her what she wants, I don’t trust her word. I don’t trust Pete, his home state doesn’t love him, why should I? The others on will not go far.
But we can trace Joe back for a couple of decades and see his steady positions and his ability to grow.
A profound warning about “the dire threat to the rule of law” as seen by William Webster—a man of unimpeachable integrity & vast government experience. A lifelong Republican, his words shame Trump & his many supplicants for putting politics above country. https://t.co/0hiDjp5Jmg
This man is having a total meltdown. His thought processes are increasingly deranged. It’d be sad if he didn’t have little things like the nuclear codes at his fingertips. His power makes his instability terrifying. https://t.co/vsHXkdTS4P
(1) We've tweeted often about his malignant narcissism, pathology, and the phenomenon of malignant normality infecting his base. But for all our observations and explanatory analysis, we marvel that this man, over a 73 year life, has never truly been held accountable. Until now.
(3) He has committed frauds, paid fines in the millions of $ on multiple occasions. His morality and ethics are compromised to the nth degree. His acuity is below average. He has cheated in everything from business to golf. Has paid off women for silence about his transgressions.
(5) They make equivalencies as if it proves a point. So there never is any productive debate. Only digging in and doubling down, like their leader. We've always had partisanship and divergent opinions, but now it's divergent realities. This will be the challenge after he is gone.
Christianity Today called for Trump's impeachment. Biden had a flawless debate. And Sarah Huckabee Sanders apologized for something. I would not have imagined…
A huge reason Kamala was my choice is bc she is the only I trusted to not let Trump & his criminals off free. A huge reason I do NOT want to see Kamala as AG is bc of punk ass ideas like pardoning Trump which will turn into Kamala didn't lock up Trump hit pieces. https://t.co/QPRuEXlRfm
POTUS lawyers are looking at various options for proceeding if House doesn't send articles of impeachment to the Senate. POTUS doesn't want it to be left hanging that he was impeached and nothing was done by Republicans to defend him in the Senate.
Of course Trump’s lawyers are looking for ways to move forward but Speaker Pelosi isn’t having any of it. She has left Trump twisting in the wind, stewing in his own juices over this long winter recess. And now Moscow Mitch is going to spend his winter break taking phones from Trump every five minutes begging Mitch to start the trial.
The frustration comes from just how very obvious all this is and yet the GOP and the press are all business as usual.
Trump is weak and compromised because of his enormous debt, his insatiable greed and his very public cognitive decline and psychopathology. He's an easy mark for Putin, who now publicly revels in owning our elections, the GOP and our government.
If you live in a wine region, there are things such as a great many “wine caves.” That’s how wine barrels are stored. Some are simple, some are very fancy and elegant. Wineries rent out those spaces to bolster their income. That’s the wine business in an era of drought and wildfires. I’m not necessarily defending Pete and his donors but it’s a really popular thing to do to have dinner at a winery.
While “wine caves” got a lot of attention at tonight’s #DemDebate, the thousands of California farmworkers who work at vineyards did not.
I'll be a president who fights for those left behind by our politics—not wealthy donors. https://t.co/2dhtYTRUnC
I don’t think I’ve ever been in a wine cave or invited to a wine cave. But I have experienced a Kool-Aid cave or two. Okay okay it’s early and I haven’t warmed up yet, so bear with me the jokes do get better.
Here is the phone we believe belongs to a Secret Service agent assigned to @realDonaldTrump's detail. The person moved from Mar-a-Lago to other Trump properties exactly when president met with Prime Minister @AbeShinzo of Japan.
Months ago, someone contacted us with an astounding dataset. It tracked the precise movements of more than 12 million Americans in several major cities including Washington, New York and San Francisco. Today we published our findings: https://t.co/U6hVTTI9WU
I saw bits and pieces of the debate last night and I have listened to all of the candidates over time. Being president is a serious matter, running for president is a serious matter. I think somewhere along the way we have lost sight of the gravity and graveness of the position of president. If are running for president you must have the political heft that goes along with being president, you can’t be a one trick pony i.e. Bernie Sanders and his obsession with blaming the “Oligarchs” for every problem under the sun. You can’t be a billionaire that thinks your business acumen can vanquish every problem under the sun. All of our past presidents minus the current one were people that understood the gravity of being president. They didn’t run out of vanity, I believe they truly wanted to make a difference, yes, even the ones you disagree with. Even the ones that had moral failings. Your vision for the country and what it can become is what will get the people out to vote for you. I’m sure all of the candidates are good people that want nothing but the best for our country. But now is not the time for vanity, what we need now is a visionary with political heft that can lead.
Pete nails it, again!
Thank you, NW🙏💙💜💪💜💙🙏😍😊🙌👒💁♀️
Good Morning TODbots.
What is telling is that they don’t even think that they could win reelection even if the gerrymandering were fair.
That was the first thing that popped in my head, too. Must be fun living their lives. (Not.)
Our Votes Made Impeachment Possible…
Being on the right side of history matters, you never hear people celebrate on being on the wrong side of history.
Agree Don..but I think MAGA is their rallying cry to be back on the wrong side of history.
If they are uniquely unqualified hopefully their verdicts will get overturned by a higher court, but that is a hell of a way to assure the public that the courts will be fair and impartial.
Time for the benediction, church is over!
And the Congregation sayssss…AAAAAAAAAAmen
Pride goes before the fall.
Full Presser with Speaker Pelosi.
Criminals criminals criming
OH DEAR. I hope this vile little pipsqueak isn’t in any trouble.
Karma will be an absolute bitch
Fingers crossed.
Truth
Can’t stand that punk
His entire family is just foul, disgusting and gross.
We need to throw a party for karma, if this works!
Ah. Good place for him
Agreed
And she’s absolutely right about that.
You’re welcome
Never mess with Speaker Pelosi ….
Lesson learned by all of ’em! And good day to you, Bob!
Howdy, Bobfr!! Wishing you and your family the best of the holidays.
Greetings, TOD!
Thank you, Nerdy!

The Baby Whisperer 😁
That would make a terrific ad!!
Remember when Hillary Clinton said that Gabbard might be a agent for Russia, she might have been right.
She was right.
Time to say Bye-Bye to this Gabbard. To think she is still hanging around and K. Harris is gone.
I am so happy that the word IMPEACHED is after his name – forever! It’s a distinction he won’t like one bit. LOL!!!!!
Undying support eh? According to Rick Wilson everything Trump touches dies. 😂
I hope this pathetic Rep. lose his seat anyway. I hate when they masquerade as Democrats.
Looks like the New FBI director!
Guess they got their minimum quota of judges…
Nancy Smash ❤
Just started watching the PBS Dem debate. Anyone else watching?
Nope. I haven’t watched any of them. I follow on Twitter. Even with number down to 7, just can’t do it. Kudos to those that do.
😍😍😍
Is it my imagination or did VP Joe get less questions?
Seems like for awhile that happened, but Pete and Elizabeth then Amy and Pete got into going back and forth arguing. They are playing into the Republican hands. Joe did start getting more questions again.
Yes, it has improved.
Is the debate over? Good if it is.
Reminder from your ole PITA Magapie:

I love the stance, especially the one on the right. ❤
Goodnight TOD ….
Morning everyone
HELL NO!!!!! Disqualifies him, IMO!
Yang according to the constitution he can’t be pardoned.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hello, TODbots.
Good Morning, TODville Community.
Thank you, NW.
😍🤗🙌🙌🤗😍💙💜❤💚⭐⭐⭐⭐❣

Alright everybody calm down, I’m here, we have a lot to get through today!
Okey dokey!
