Watched the vote before running around to do some shopping. History is being made. Trump’s legacy is forever tied to impeachable offenses. Good.

    -thanks NW for everything.
House Judiciary Committee is magnificent. Thanks Chairman Nadler also for holding this vote in the light of day.
    Congratulations!!

    Another Very Busy Day.
King Tweet yesterday “set a personal record for use of Twitter in a single day since taking office, blasting out more than 120 tweets or retweets in 24 hours. In total, the president sent 123 messages, according to a count by The Hill, topping his previous record of 105 set just a few days earlier.”

Good West Coast morning NW & TOD family. To my darling Nerdy – a warm hug and thank you for keeping us going. We would be floundering without this oasis. ❤

Good morning all of TOD family. I so agree with the description of
TOD as our Oasis. I listened to some of the speeches last night, but I can’t handle the Repubs yelling and so blatantly telling so many untruths. It makes my heart ache. Now off to do errands. See you all later.

Just want to say that If the little russian Boris won, it is NOT because the other party “moved too far left”
as VP Biden is saying, but mostly because Corbyn did not make a 2nd referendum central to his party’s position.
Making Remain the focus was his real job, imo. As here, the far right in U.K. is pushing an anti-immigrants stance, harking all the way back to Enoch Powell for heaven’s sake. Boris was out there entertaining (sound familiar) by crassly bulldozing walls that had Brexit memes pasted on. Yes the U.K. electoral process is only 6 weeks long, yet Johnson managed to facsimile the ad onslaught $$trategy used by KOCH over here.
JOE: The jury is out. Look what happens when you try to “reason” with the GOP Johnsons or the MoscowMitches.

Only Democrats for the most part talk about moving too far left. I don’t think Republicans suffer from this type of psychosis which entails begging your opponent’s base to come out and vote so that they can fight you at every goddamn turn. Joe is out of his mind if he wants a healthy Republican Party to challenge him. And therein lies the difference, the Republican Party wants total domination. Joe wants to stand around and hope that the Republicans come around to his way of thinking.

        December 13, 2019 at 1:38 pm

We love PBO – why? It’s not because he “crushed” the GOP, but because he rallied his base and held an open hand to the GOP. I admire Joe for following the same blueprint because We Can Do It – Again.

        • December 13, 2019 at 4:00 pm

          thanks ggail,
This is a new time in history….and a different GOP animal now speaks for Putin and the oil oligarchs.
In lockstep. Today Kremlin interference in elections, their media strategies, right wing corporates like Koch and doomers like Bannon meddling in each country’s unique politics (e.g. Brexit) are easy to see around the world. Climate denial is part of that push towards ethnonationalism, military on the borders, and authoritarian rule. Trump is being used for this.
          –will love PBO forever.
          –but 2008 this is not.

I applaud Rep. Allred for standing up for the constitution. Unfortunately, the Democrats who are not voting to impeach Trump will probably lose their races anyway. That’s how we got that Cotton creep from Arkansas. The Democratic senator from Arkansas voted with Republicans on various issues and lost anyway.

    Public Service Announcement:

Six past Mega Millions jackpots were won on a Friday the 13th: four in Michigan and one each in Ohio and New York, according to lottery officials. Make sure you get your tickets, I’m not a big time lottery player I might buy a ticket when I’m getting gas.

P.S. If I win I’m going to make my family’s dreams come true. I’m going to make my wife the executor of our estate, that way I can retire to my man-cave and be left alone, god I love solitude.

Good afternoon, TOD. Unpacking some of the household goods delivered today. I’m like a kid on Christmas morning as I open each box. There are things I’ve been looking for, things that I forgot I had, and things that I’m surprised that they were able to salvage. Bittersweet was finding several items gifted over the years from my sister-cousin who died in October; needless to say, the waterworks flowed… The contents of the first box opened were so apropos for today…

“”The City of Oklahoma City announced Thursday afternoon the former American Indian Cultural Center and Museum will now be known as the First Americans Museum.
“Our new name helps convey the institute’s intention to share stories, history and cultural lifeways past present and future,” said James Pepper Henry, First Americans Museum Executive Director…
With an official opening schedule, the institution hopes to bring awareness and understanding of the cultural diversity and history of the 39 tribal nations in Oklahoma.””
–The plan is to have a Smithsonian gallery and family center…the city took over funding and will take it to the finish line.

Anyone wonder if Moscow Mitch is getting satisfaction by gaining $ or if it is just an emotional thing? Stacking the courts … aiding Russia by going along with PP … etc etc etc … what is he gaining from his actions? It certainly does not look like he is doing it for the good of the country.

Go to Mittens Romney’s contact page and tell him: “Here’s what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud, His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing members of the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House, and all we get is a lousy hat.” Then implore him to do his CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY and vote to REMOVE for abuse of power and obstruction. https://www.romney.senate.gov/contact-senator-romney

“Why can’t she just listen and connect and meet people where they are with genuine care and partnership?”

Because she has nothing to offer, and she knows she has nothing to offer other than a condescending T-shirt. And to make matters worst she actually thought that she was showing solidarity with black women. She does not even know how to fake being concerned about black women. And this is because she’s never had to effectively deal with black women, or black people period for that matter. The same thing goes with Bootleg, they don’t even know when they are being offensive. They’ve never taken the time to learn about the African American and Latino community. So they come out with bullshit displays that they think will appease our communities. Put policies aside for a moment, they don’t even have the capacity to deal with us on a personal or human level. And then we are supposed to run out and be happy and vote for them all because they showed us some attention.
