As it is just the two of us, I’m preparing a simple menu; mixed greens salad, chicken marsala, wild rice, roasted brussels sprouts w/balsamic ginger glaze, roasted asparagus, roll, and cheesecake. Setting the table with fine linens, the good China, crystal, and silver. Even breaking out the good serving ware… Doesn’t make sense to have all this stuff, then use disposables…

I don’t think listening has ever been a problem for the Democrats when it comes to having meaningful conversation with Republicans. The problem is how do we smile and carry on respectful conversations with Republicans that despises our very existence? There is no common ground to be found with a Republican Party that wants to get rid of Obamacare. There is no common ground to be found with a Republican Party that locks children immigrants in cages. In my opinion, I think it is unwise for Democrats to unilaterally give up its platform just so we can appear to be more civilized than Republicans. I don’t think listening has ever been a problem for the Democrats when it comes to having meaningful conversation with Republicans. The problem is how do we smile and carry on respectful conversations with Republicans that despises our very existence? There is no common ground to be found with a Republican Party that wants to get rid of Obamacare. There is no common ground to be found with a Republican Party that locks children immigrants in cages. In my opinion, I think it is unwise for Democrats to unilaterally give up its platform just so we can appear to be more civilized than Republicans. The Republicans aren’t interested in our civility, nor our ability to listen. The only thing that interest Republicans is getting their way, even to the detriment of Democrats.
