Doom said the above to Sondland:
On the day Dems launched investigation into quid pro quo, on the same day the 1st whistleblower’s complaint mentions quid pro quo. (Cannot remember which member of Congress brought it up.)
–Betting the little doomsday had heard the term quid pro quo, but didn’t know what it meant until this day.
p.s. GOP was OK with this part of Sondland’s testimony…otherwise may be. suspected of ‘presuming’.

      From a Hong Kong resident:

“The most updated version of the 1,637 stages of grief of the Hong Kong protests. As the protests escalate, I steadily get messages from friends asking about the situation (which I welcome). Very often people express their “heartbreak” or “sadness” to see all the destruction and violence in a “civilized” city like Hong Kong. Sometimes they question whether or not the escalating violence/vandalism by some protesters is helpful or necessary. I admit this is a very natural reaction because I used to feel the same; Hong Kong has a reputation of being a modern, sophisticated financial hub with a well-educated, genteel populace. Having that mental image shattered is understandably distressing. It was for all of us in Hong Kong. However, as it became clear that the government and police have lost legitimacy, I couldn’t help but find the emphasis on the loss of “civility” increasingly callous. I do not support every action by every protester, but a grave misunderstanding of the situation is revealed when, at this stage, people are still surprised or disappointed by the fact that Hong Kong is no longer a “civilized place”. Civility is a laughable afterthought when you have endured 5 months of tear gas, bullets, water cannons, and brutal beatings from a group of masked, uniformed, gun-toting thugs who call you “cockroaches” and take pleasure in exterminating you as such. Civility is a worthless consolation prize when you’re struggling to take power back from your cold-blooded, oppressive, authoritarian government. Civility is wishful thinking when you’re an egg and you see a bunch of other eggs throwing themselves against a high brick wall, breaking on contact one by one. Civility for Hong Kong is a dream you should put away for now. For I’m afraid the people of Hong Kong are angry, worried, and aggrieved. We are fighting to survive.

Seriously. How do you announce candidacy for POTUS without having done massive, massive, massive ground work to determine interest and support? How do you launch something so huge without knowing that people will show up to listen? And yeah, who schedules an event on a day when the party is focused elsewhere? At this point, he’s looking very, very foolish.

Facebook is a drug that billions of people are addicted to. Why is there not another platform to compete that doesn’t give out personal information, doesn’t monitor activity that is dangerous? I can’t blame Zuckerberg….all you have to do people is give up Facebook.

I am such a fan of Kamala Harris – and I so hope a woman wins the primary. The imbecile won’t know what hit him in a debate with Kamala – but otherwise anyone except Gabbard & Sanders.

I wish Tulsi, Tom, and Andrew would be eliminated since I think they are weakest. I do not like or endorse Bernie for many reasons, but many do so I don’t see him leaving soon. As much as I hear people say this is a chance to totally change everything I feel that historically change has come in smaller steps in order to keep our union intact. Having fought hard for ACA I prefer improving it by adding a public option and figuring out how to preserve it from future erosion by opposition party politics. That policy determines my narrowing of choices of candidates, but my overriding concern is beating Trump.

I was listening to a clip on CBC radio this morning, where 2 women were being interviewed. One from Wisconsin and one from SC.

Lady from WI used to vote Republican but did not vote for Trump. She said that the hearings are not likely to sway support for PP. She wont vote for him should he run in 2020.

Lady from SC – a total PP supporter, claims that SC “loves” PP.

Is it even possible to get these (repubs) folks to see the light? I can’t believe the lack of critical thinking in these ppl.
