Just have to say when pressed Buttigieg did not defend Tulsi. What I saw was a Pelosi move. In other words he did not fall into a drama trap instead he said he saw Gabbard as a competitor, That he preferred to compete on policy grounds and he disagreed with her on many policy issues. That’s not a defense but a Pelosi style rebuke. We have to be careful not to let the press orchestrate these things. When I saw him do this he was with Tapper who kept trying to egg on the drama. Tapper was frustrated and then said something about Buttigieg being agile. I think he has some of the same talent for putting people in their places while keeping out of the traps.
I always think of this mantra of the Obama campaign. Respect, empower, include, no drama, have fun, win. The no drama part protects us from the attempts to misconstrue what we are about I think.
