Michelle Obama Is Everything!

****

I was just 2 years old when Michelle Obama became first lady. When I was growing up, she was always just there, smiling on the covers of magazines, surrounded by groups of kids in the White House gardens, holding hands with her husband. At that time, I didn’t have a concept of who she really was. But as I got older I began to realize how important she was—and the impact she was having on my generation. I learned more about her in Becoming, her memoir, in which she tells the story of her journey from Chicago’s South Side to the White House. Her voice is honest and often vulnerable, especially when she experiences change, like going to a new high school or becoming the first lady. Frequently she asks herself, “Am I good enough?” But she is also mesmerizing and determined, asserting herself as a force from a young age. Michelle Obama doesn’t use her book to preach, though. Instead she shares her ideas with the world through storytelling. As a journalist, that’s how I communicate too—by knocking on doors and asking people to share their stories. And so when I got the chance to interview her, my goal was simple: to uncover more about the ideas behind her stories and how they can inspire us all, regardless of our politics.

Trump “made fun of US allies South Korea, Japan and the European Union — mimicking Japanese and Korean accents — and talked about his love of dictators Kim Jong Un and the current ruler of Saudi Arabia.”

Good morning, Carolyn. Asking for your good energy and thoughts this week. Tuesday I will have shoulder surgery. Two weeks ago I fell against my closet door and dislocated my shoulder. I have neve felt such pain! From the first xrays the ortho surgeon thought the tendons would grow back and reattach, but as of Wed. the new stays showed they weren’t. So, Tuesday I face surgery. My big concern was taking care of my precious doggie, Chanel, When my son learned I have to have surgery, he immediately said We will come get Chanel and take care of her. Bless him. So the whole family came yesterday and took her to Dallas today. I can relax. The house feels warm now, and I feel surrounded by their love. Many good friends are going to be with me during this and thanks to Medicare, I will have Home Health care. So thanks for your care.

What blunders, I am speaking for myself. I got the chance to see Biden work for eight years as Obama’s VP and to me Biden seem like a decent man who care about people of all colors, who loves this country much better person then that racist lying white supremacists in the White House now. These so call know it all political pundits is full of alot of bologna.

Steve Bannon says Democrats may have to recruit Michelle Obama, Mike Bloomberg or Hillary Clinton to run against Trump 2020. Well former President Obama said that there are three things in life that are certain, taxes, death, and Michelle will never run for any political office. I have been hearing this talk from the right alot lately, what are they up too.?

    • August 11, 2019 at 6:46 pm

      imo Bannon is Putin’s tool.
So they’d like to put the Obamas in the potshot position again….AS IF.
Also Bannon would like to infer that the current candidates cannot beat the brain-dead Benito.

  36. August 11, 2019 at 5:26 pm

Well we can assume nothing good. I don’t think there’s anything I hate more than filth like Steve Bannon putting our QUEEN in their depraved disgusting mouths. We should tell them to go fuck themselves.

      FROM THE ARTICLE…

Federal laws against lynching never passed in large part because many officials in Washington, up to and including sitting presidents, were themselves sympathetic to white supremacy or reluctant to pick a fight with Southern lawmakers and voters. Which is to say: it has historically been politically inconvenient for government officials to confront violent white supremacy. This is in large part because it is impossible to find any period in American politics in which the notion that there should be a racial order with white people at the top, or the idea that the United States is and should remain a country for white people, has not enjoyed a robust mainstream constituency.

        Insane but so very true.

      • August 11, 2019 at 6:42 pm

        More from the article…

In the post-civil rights period, a fragile consensus emerged around the most public racism, and new mores made it far less acceptable for white supremacy to be overtly stated. But this hardly meant that the popular forces undergirding it evaporated — how could something be so elemental ever be blotted out? And as long as the formal expression of those sentiments remain in place — in criminal justice, in housing, in employment, in immigration policy — then it will remain dangerously easy to activate the less legitimate violence that has always been twinned to it. That means that more bloodshed, like the carnage we saw in El Paso, Texas, is not only possible, but inevitable.

“In the post-civil rights period, a fragile consensus emerged around the most public racism, and new mores made it far less acceptable for white supremacy to be overtly stated.”

I guess this is what Mitt Romney was talking about when he said that certain things are to be discussed in “quiet rooms.”
