“And they’ve never forgiven Barack Obama for being black.”

That should be engraved on their tombstones, in the biggest font possible. So-called Christians like this have tried thought-out history to weaponize Christianity.

Sometimes my cynicism knows no bounds, but when President Obama speaks it assures me that in the end, good will win out against evil.

When a child has a tantrum the first rule is remove the audience the child is performing for by removing the child or audience from that area. If in a public place take the child to a private location. If at home have a timeout area or leave the room.
Ignore, ignore, ignore. Do not reward with attention! Do not give them what they want! Media get that? Rewarding bad behavior only teaches the child to escalate till they get what they want.

“When the sillence protecting racism violence was louder than words.”
10,000 African Americans marched up Fifth Avenue.
“There was no singing, no chanting — just silence.
On July 28, 1917, the only sound on New York City’s Fifth Avenue was the muffled beat of drums as nearly 10,000 African American children, women, and men marched in silence in what came to be known as the Silent Parade.
It was one of the first mass protests of lynching and anti-black violence in the United States. The parade was precipitated by the East St. Louis Riots of 1917, during which between 40 and 250 Black people were killed and thousands more displaced by white mobs.”

    TRUMP INCORPORATED.
Trump is working on his Enemies List.
Using unqualified people who don’t know what they are doing but whatever it is, they will do it for Trump.
-e.g. rewriting the origins of the Russia investigation.
-e.g. how about (imo) after Trump’s conspiracy with Russia comes to light.
Imagine what Russian asset mob boss in the WH will do with former mayor Ratcliffe, DNI, in his pocket.

Not one single Republican in the house or the senate wants to be a patriot, let that sink in. Not a single solitary one, when President Obama was in office you had Democrats in the house and senate ready to pounce on his every word, and that is called Democracy. It was necessary for checks and balances, but to not have a single person in your party question anything you do or say is beyond just towing the party line. It is dangerous to our form of government, dissent is patriotism.

    1) Governor Dunleavy (tool of global oil and Koch brothers) wants to cut Alaska’s University system by 41%.
    2) Causing devastation to the economy and future of Alaska = And that is the point.

    • July 29, 2019 at 1:50 pm

      3) Includes wiping out the University of Alaska Museum of the North.
“The museum’s collections include more than 2.2 million artifacts and specimens representing millions of years of biological diversity and thousands of years of cultural traditions in the North. Many of these are rare and unique, but there are also long series of specimens representing all aspects of regional natural history. Such series, often accumulated over decades, are a crucial resource for research.”
(Website of this gorgeous museum: https://www.uaf.edu/museum/collections/)
10 research disciplines: Aquatics, Archaeology, Earth Sciences, Entymology, Ethnology and History, Film Center, Fine Arts, Herbarium, Mammology, Ornithology, Genomic Resources.

    • July 29, 2019 at 1:53 pm

You wouldn’t believe what is in there: Inuit, Inupiaq, Paleo, Pleistocene sites, mind boggling cultural materials, archaeological and ethnographic remains. Promotes science and scholarly work on climate change, indigenous issues, history of the Americas and ecology of Alaska.

      • 50 Don
        July 29, 2019 at 1:59 pm

To you and I it is a treasure trove of history and science, but to him it is a means to an end. What type of person would conceive of shutting down a university system and a history and science museum? It is almost as if advancement in science and history is somehow an evil that must be defeated at any cost.

        • July 29, 2019 at 3:44 pm

          Hey Don – yes!
41% cut of the University of Alaska and the evisceration of Museum of the North:
would cause a lot of things go to pieces…youth go elsewhere, the workforce declines, entrepreneurs are hit, a lot of dominoes fall. The Museum of the North also promotes science and scholarship work on the Climate Crisis (the massive Arctic scientific record being altered and deleted by this Administration).
Just when we need to be leaving oil in the ground to save the planet, Trump has bragged that
opening the ANWR to drilling would be his greatest achievement.

    • July 29, 2019 at 1:54 pm

This world class museum is a federal repository for tens of thousand of priceless artifacts spanning
15,000 years. Thousands of ethographic items from the Alaskan nations.
–The museum was put there by federal agreements to keep it in perpetuity signed by the state.

    • July 29, 2019 at 1:57 pm

SAVE THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA MUSEUM OF THE NORTH.

      • July 30, 2019 at 1:36 am

        See link:
“So my heart breaks when I see our communities torn apart by the threats to our educational systems, and specifically when our Governor proposes to eliminate ALL STATE FUNDING to the University of Alaska Museum, for which the state has a fiduciary duty of care to safeguard those collections.”

GOP presidential candidate and fmr MA Governor, Bill Weld:
“So let`s get one thing out of the way right at the beginning.
Donald Trump is a raging racist, OK. He`s a complete and thorough going racist.”

    • July 29, 2019 at 2:37 pm

      Weld on O’Donnell on Thursday:
“if the Republican Party doesn`t distance itself from the unbelievably overt racism of President Trump,
it`s going to be stigmatized throughout the country as the party of racism, and they`re not going to be a national party anymore.”
“They act like they think sometimes it`s a political choice. It`s not a political choice, it`s a moral choice
and they`re going to be judged by the results of that choice.”
“You know, I said that the President made the choice to be a racist a long time ago when he boasted
(when he was in the housing business with his father) “we have ways to keep people like them
(meaning people of color) out of our projects.”

as much as i like Kamala Harris….

Castro impresses me more and more everyday…and this is the reason why….

    • 70 Don
      July 29, 2019 at 3:16 pm

Yep, Castro has always had a deep understanding of issues that effect our communities. Now, that does not mean that the other candidates don’t have an understanding. I think with other candidates they can understand our issues on an academic level, whereas Castro can understand it on a personal level, a “street” level if you will. But it also becomes tricky, I’m sure each candidate has a certain level of empathy that can’t be faked. I’m sure all of them want to do right when it comes to every community. I do remember reading about Gillibrand at a town hall answering a question from an audience member about feeling left behind because she felt that as a white woman the system was somehow not working for her. Gillibrand’s response was probably one of the best that I’ve read at explaining how institutional racism works in favor of White Americans at the expense of African Americans.

The safety of our natural and cultural heritage is not a negotiating point. Our legal and ethical obligations to the Indigenous peoples of Alaska are not to be put at risk. Please write and tell these decision-makers why museums matter. Thank you.”
