      1) Ms Carroll, you were raped in every sense of the word.
      2) Regardless of whether you were able to “fight back” or not.
      3) Pursuing legal action would NOT be “disrespectful to the women who are down on the border who are being raped around the clock down there without any protection.”
      4) Please ask the women at the border yourself.
      5) Your coat and tights may hold the keys to important evidence.
      6) The world will esteem and be grateful to you when you take action to Stop Trump.

      Ms. Carroll:
An innocent on my 16th birthday, I was raped standing up by someone I knew and said nothing.
Please, please speak up now for all the victims of Donald Trump and those like him who repeatedly commit such heinous violent crimes, while protected by money and power.

So I just called both offices of my MoC. I told them that I was extremely upset and offended by the racist remarks from dt and asked when I could expect that my MoC come out and publically condemn those racist remarks against fellow members of Congress. If I don’t hear any public statement condemning those remarks, I will then assume that he condones the remarks made.

Put THEM on the spot! Make them answer! They have to choose a fucking side and quit hiding and not being held accountable. I’m done with this shit. It gets worse and worse with each passing day!

“The Pro-Life” Movement is Silent About Children Dying at the Border.”
“I have learned of the demonstrations and other ways Americans are mobilizing to protest the mistreatment of children seeking asylum at U.S. borders from a number of organizations and outlets, but none of them include so-called pro-life organizations.
Nothing on the homepage of National Right to Life, which spent $270,000 lobbying against abortion in 2018, would suggest the containment of children in cages on U.S. soil is among its most pressing concerns. Its Instagram feed does not feature any images of migrant jails nor of migrant children — some of whom are
infants — separated from their asylum-seeking parents.

“Despite Federal Protections, Rape Victims Still Get Billed for Forensic Exams.”
“For 25 years, the federal Violence Against Women Act has required any state that wants to be eligible for certain federal grants to certify that the state covers the cost of medical forensic exams for people who have been sexually assaulted. Subsequent reauthorizations clarified that these individuals can’t be required to participate with law enforcement to get an exam, nor do they have to pay anything out-of-pocket for it, even if they would be reimbursed later. Yet for some people who have been raped, the bills keep coming, despite this long-standing federal prohibition and laws in many states that provide additional financial protections.”

His demeanor was more like an American Express Black Card member frustrated by a flight cancelation than a man facing sex trafficking charges that could put him away for 45 years. His visage communicated condescending disregard: Clearly these earthlings who were impeding his jet-set trajectory just had no idea who they were dealing with and once he managed to overcome their very limited intelligence he would surely be on his first-class way.”

I’m not shocked at all at what trump tweeted out over the weekend. Those that are shocked obviously haven’t been paying attention to trump. Trump’s high watermark was when he asked, no, demanded that the first African American President produce a birth certificate. I mean really, what depths did you think trump wasn’t going to plumb when it came to race and or religion? And to be honest I must also give the side eye to those that are shocked. I’m also equally not shocked that not a single soul in the republican party repudiated trump’s comments. For some of us this movie isn’t new or original, it’s just a rehashed version of the oldest story in American history.

Obama was an inspiration with a hopeful message for the country. I wish he had called out Republicans sooner. I wish he had a semblance of the army Trump has today to get out his messages. The Dems relied on him to do ALL the heavy lifting. I hope the Dems have learned not to leave their President hanging. If he’s wrong about something, it’ s ok to correct him. But, what I saw were complaints anytime he didn’t do some of the things they should have been doing. They are a lazy bunch and need to do better.

Truth be told, there’s not one thing I would have asked President Obama to do differently, while he was President or even since. I don’t worship him, but I do understand and appreciate him, and learned to re-think what kind of a human I was, after watching him in action. Made me want to try to do better and be better as a person.
We were lucky every day that he was there to lead by example. I don’t wish he were back – I wish him nothing but peace and love and satisfaction in the next phases of his life, and his cherished family members’ lives. What a fine man. (Almost as fine as my own dear son! 🙂 ) And, as I like to add, I credit his mother. ❤

Apologies, this link is not available, so I will take the risk to post the entire speech, copied and pasted from the page which did open:

“Michelle Obama: ‘Being President … Reveals Who You Are’

              By Liz Halloran

NPR.org, September 5, 2012 · There were a lot of preliminaries, but it was Michelle Obama’s show Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention, and she used it masterfully — carrying a rapt crowd along with a narrative of family, hard work, and truth-telling.

Largely wrung of politics, the first lady’s speech plotted parallels in her life and that of her husband, President Obama. She pointedly tracked their humble beginnings and strivings in an unspoken but clear contrast to the privileged upbringing of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

And, in a calculated aside, designed surely to address Republican criticisms that her husband does not celebrate success, she said this of his, and her, families: “They didn’t begrudge anyone else’s success or care that others had much more than they did. In fact, they admired it.”

It was a speech that those who follow the first lady say was largely a stump standard, but with extra ruffles and flourishes — family anecdotes and some humor.

The polished and popular Obama — her national approval rating is above 65 percent — has become her husband’s best campaign surrogate, humanizing him, as Ann Romney did for her husband last week, with stories of their daughters, and their broke early dating and marriage years.

“We were so young, so in love, so in debt,” she said, adding that their combined monthly student loan bill was higher than their mortgage.

Though she didn’t directly address her husband’s opponent, or the bitter battle Romney and her husband are waging, Obama took direct aim at what some Democrats claim were lies embedded in messages that emanated from the Republican National Convention last week.

Growing up, she said, she and “Barack” learned from their families dignity, decency and that “the truth matters.” It was one of her biggest applause lines.

The connection with the middle and striving classes, the struggles raising children with a semblance of normalcy, of being young and in love — and still in love. And of considering her most important title “mom in chief.”

“For Barack, success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives,” she said.

That was all part of Obama’s imperative Tuesday. She appeared twice to tear up, talking about family and of going forward.

But it was her get-out-the-vote rally cry, a plea for four more years because, as “Barack” says, “we’ve got so much more to do,” that will perhaps have more long-term resonance. That and a character reference from someone who says she had some misgivings four years ago about what the presidency would do to her husband, her children, a life she had built and loved.

“Being president,” she said, “doesn’t change who you are, it reveals who you are,” a sentiment that struck some in attendance.

“When she said the presidency doesn’t change a man, it reveals him — that was a very powerful message,” said Dan Lankilde, state Democratic chairman of American Samoa.

It was the same message that resonated with Pat Jones, a Pennsylvania delegate. “I believe that — the president hasn’t changed. She emphasized the vision. I believe in that vision.”
