    Good Afternoon/Evening, TOD!
    Thank you, Nerdy.

Congrats, sjterrid! The Obama Foundation is doing important work. We decided when President Obama left office to put this foundation in our will.

I’ve made peace with the fact that Kawhi chose the Clippers over the Lakers, I’m in a better place now.

p.s. as always, if Joe is our nominee I’ll happily vote for him.

      July 6, 2019 at 8:58 am

Morning Don. Sorry to hear about Kawhi signing with the Clippers over the Lakers, but the Lakers did pick up Danny Green, he is a good three point shooter, that will help them. One thing for sure the Lakers should be alot better then last year. P.S, if Harris is our nominee I’ll vote for her, I don’t know about happily. But I will always remind myself, that the main goal is to defeat that lying racist crook in the White House.

That’s a quandary, everyone wants faster and stronger cell service and 5G might ensure that. Cellphones today are basically mobile offices. I was under the impression that the national weather service has their own satellites and other technologies to avoid this kind of thing.

      • 51 marleysperson
        July 6, 2019 at 9:54 am

I think the weather measuring instruments are sensitive and can be easily disrupted. It’s always something! I think it was PBO that said one time that the technology in our current cell phone was able to launch a rocket into space. That always amazed me. People smarter than me will figure out what to do about this. With weather and climate being so important now… I might just opt for 4 G until we figure this out:)

          July 6, 2019 at 10:02 am

Marleysperson, I thought 4G was standard among all cellphone companies. Now I will admit I just heard about the 5G thing. My wife has the old Samsung Note 2 and that cellphone does everything. I had an Iphone but it didn’t seem to be all that. I got a cheaper LG and it does everything that the Iphone did. I always assumed that the better our technology got the smarter we would become.

…Working back from January 2017, Obama’s last month in office, there had been 6.423 million jobs added or 221,000 per month. The difference for the 29 months is 810,000 more jobs or 27,000 more per month than Trump. …

So I guess Trump sees bee data as a threat to climate crisis denial and his support for his donors:
= The cancerous, poisonous herbicide, pesticide and fungicide industries.

    • July 6, 2019 at 4:25 pm

It is no time to be shorting bees, this is insanity. Most food is from flowering plants which must be pollinated.
What do the farmers say about what Trumpsky is doing? In China it is apparently so desperate that plants are being pollinated by hand.
Bees affected by smoke from fires, not enough diversity to feed the bees, hurricane and cyclones and herbicides glyphosate, and pesticides and fungicides.
Do not buy Monsanto’s ‘Roundup’ (bought out by Bayer).
Grains are wind pollinated, don’t need bees. But virtually EVERYTHING else does.
      Igrnoramus Trump must go asap.

    • July 6, 2019 at 4:27 pm

Here we go: “This past winter saw the highest honeybee colony losses on record” (Wapo)
n.b. it takes 2 million hives to pollinate CA’s almond crop alone. Just one producer lost 2,000 hives this year.

Perhaps it’s the jokes and memes that Donald Trump generates in abundance, the gift that keeps on giving,
that blinds us to a chilling fact that we’d rather not face.
Put simply, the leader of the world’s most powerful nation is behaving like an authoritarian dictator, one who threatens democracy in his own country and far beyond….
On Thursday Donald Trump marked the Fourth of July by praising the US military, invoking the heroism of an army that defeated the British in the 18th century in part because “it took over the airports”… But all those giggles served to obscure the more pressing fact: that in a departure from all precedent, Trump had used Independence Day to stage a military display, in which M1A2 tanks and Bradley armoured vehicles rolled into Washington, while fighter jets and helicopters filled the sky. The generals, mindful of the need to separate military and political power, had long opposed this extravaganza and, tellingly, most of the joint chiefs contrived to stay away. They understood that such a pageant is the stuff of despots, not democrats.”

“So, if you look at the legislation under Trump, it’s just lavish gifts to the wealth and the corporate sector—the tax bill, the deregulation, you know, every case in point. That’s kind of the job of Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, those guys. They serve the real constituency. Meanwhile, Trump has to maintain the voting constituency, with one outrageous position after another that appeals to some sector of the voting base. And he’s doing it very skillfully. As just as a political manipulation, it’s skillful. Work for the rich and the powerful, shaft everybody else, but get their votes—that’s not an easy trick. And he’s carrying it off.”
–And imo, GOP screwing trump voters all the way to the bank is cultural not logical. In their world Dems are still “elite gay hippies in league with the communists” while GOP is (for really real) fragrantly in league with Russia! Is why it’s a fool’s errand for Dems to go to the ‘center’ in hopes of attracting trump voters = coz no earthly logic will do it.

so off to see ‘Aladdin’ in a few hours…about my speed…wishing for a sweet magical super creative children’s movie about now.

  55. July 6, 2019 at 4:08 pm

Rachel Maddow …lays it down…chronicles how Trump did a purge of important career officials at the Justice department..how the Mueller report lays it down about the crime and then the cover up done by Trump and his administration…tells of the current AG who is on a mission to find out what and who is the intelligence behind the conclusion that Russian attacked our elections to install TRUMP….

I have tried to remain calm about this…but there is a fierce urgency of NOW…Time for those running for President to sound the alarm…
