Back during George W Bush’s term, my dear 80-something mother said a similar thing to the EMT folks who’d arrived to take her to the hospital, and this tweet reminded me of it. My mother’s mind wasn’t that good at that point, but when the EMT asked her the usual questions and got to “Who’s the president,” she responded:

“I forget his name but he’s NOT GOOD.”

She always had the best one-liners during her earlier life, too! Ha.

It’s ridiculous and nauseating, frankly. They worship $$$. That is all. One of the Wonders of the World! Their question is: Where can we did for uranium and put up a development and hotels?

You know who thinks this is a fiiiiine idea? Paul Gosar. Andy Biggs. Who knows who else. I actually was at a town hall back when Ben Quayle was my Rep…he brought Gosar along as his wingman, and they were discussing what a FABULOUS idea it would be to dig up the Grand Canyon ! No shit! This was years ago….they want this under the radar, but they’re working hard on this. Always have been.

Despite the protestations from Democratic Leaders and handwringing from pundits and consultants, it seems like House Democrats will vote for an impeachment inquiry sooner rather than later. The moral and constitutional arguments for impeachment are much stronger than “Yes, Trump committed crimes, but we can’t impeach him because politics or something.”

With that in mind, Democrats need a plan to manage the politics and maximize the spotlight of an impeachment inquiry. Impeachment is undoubtedly the politically riskier path, but also the one with greater upside for the country and the party. If Democrats are united behind a smart strategy, they can use an impeachment inquiry to prosecute a devastating case against Trump that increases the likelihood that Democrats win the White House, expand our House Majority, and take the Senate.

GOP Grassley: “Trade policy and border security are separate issues.
This is a misuse of presidential tariff authority and counter to congressional intent.”
“The economy is slowing, so Trump’s answer is a tariff on one of the country’s biggest trading partners that will immediately hurt US companies and consumers. It would be almost pleasant to think that this move was not serious and meant to be a distraction from Robert Mueller, but Trump really believes that countries, not US businesses and consumers pay tariffs.” (Easley)
“The economic consequences of Trump’s new plan could be swift and severe. If the tariffs damaged the Mexican economy, more of its citizens would try to cross the border to find work in the United States…” (WaPo)
    Triple Duh.

U.S. president must be exceptionally bright, personable, uncompromised and patriotic with progressive values, understand the disastrous enormity of global climate crisis, highly educated with demonstrated reading skills, knowledgable about history and world affairs,
love children/women/the planet/green future, surround her/himself with scientists, informed, be teachable with rapid learning curve,
be honest in word and deed.
–We elected this phenomenon in 2008 and the world laments what he had to put up with from the same faction that now wants to destroy America and Europe for starters. Deepest most abject apologies to our very own President Obama, now global leader.

Neal Katyal, former Solicitor General who co-wrote the Special Counsel rules in the 1990’s (on O’Donnell):
“But I think today…we heard from (Robert Mueller) in a very powerful way.
I think the most important thing we heard from him – because remember, he`s dealing with a several-hundred-page report and what does he choose to. pluck out in his press conference today?  He plucks out the fact that he said, “Look, if I could clear the president, I would. I have the raw legal power to do so if I thought he was innocent.”  He pointedly does not do that. And then second, he said, ‘I couldn`t indict him. I didn`t have the power to’.  And so because of that, he says it would be unfair to…label Mr. Trump a criminal when Mr. Trump has no way to defend himself.
And look, I understand it`s frustrating for a lot of people.  And it`s frustrating for me too.  But there`s at least – I can understand what Mr.
Mueller is saying here. And at the same time, I think what the ultimate implication of what Mueller said today, and it doesn`t require a fancy lawyer or anything liking that to figure it out is, ‘Congress, this ball is in your court right now. And I`ve done the investigation. I`ve spent a long time, two years, interviewed hundreds of witnesses and the like and I have found many instances and they`re detailed in the report of obstruction of justice and indeed almost a thousand former federal prosecutors have now read that report and said yes, if this were anyone but the president, I would indict. So at this point, Mr. Mueller has given what in basketball we call an. assist, he`s thrown the ball up in the air and now it`s up to Congress to
    bring it home.”

Kim Jong Un EXECUTED HIS ENTIRE NEGOTIATION TEAM after the last failed Trump/Jong-Un meeting.
“Bloomberg reports that those murdered apparently include Kim Hyok Chol, who was regarded as North Korea’s top diplomat. He was one of five men put to death. Others, including Kim Jong Un’s former top aide, have been sentenced to a lifetime of hard labor. All of this because North Korea’s leader refuses to accept any responsibility for the failure of the last round of talks. What a funny, smart guy.
He really loves his people. To death.”
