    Good afternoon, TOD!

Nerdy, as always, I am so grateful for the youmans effort required to keep this safe harbor up and running. This seasoned citizen thanks and salutes you.

This is unconscionable that these terrorist’s first amendment rights take precedence over women’s rights to obtain legal medical care. At minimum, the terrorists should not be able to swarm the sidewalk like locusts…

For those who have read Timothy Synder or otherwise know of how an obscure minor oligarch became President of Russia, watching Speaker Pelosi not move with alacrity to Impeach Trump, is agonizing.

He is on a path to ensuring, one way or another, he will be America’s first dictator and that is so far from hyperbole as to be boring – for those paying attention.

    Worth a read

    https://crooked.com/articles/trump-barr-pelosi/

Impeachment advocates worried all along that the Democrats’ dithering and self-doubt would create a number of perverse consequences: that the public would interpret their irresolution as a sign that Trump’s presidency is not a crisis; that Trump himself would fill the void of inaction with propaganda and defamation and selective prosecution, exacerbating public confusion, when the truth is actually quite simple. These fears are all rapidly materializing, and the fact that the Democratic approach is failing has yet to dawn on anyone who has the power to change course.

  12. May 25, 2019 at 9:50 pm

Former DNI James Clapper makes it clear that Trump would not have won without Russia’s help.
“When Donald Trump produced the first list of names for his death list this week, he didn’t include that of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. But Clapper appears to be out to remedy this oversight by pointing out the fact that the Trump campaign didn’t just cooperate with Russia—it’s extremely unlikely Trump would have been elected without Russian support.
As Newsweek reports, Clapper’s just-released memoirs don’t shy away from drawing the obvious conclusion about the impact of the Russian interference and the benefits to Trump.
As Clapper writes, “Surprising even themselves, [Russia] swung the election to a Trump win. To conclude otherwise stretches logic, common sense and credulity to the breaking point. Less than eighty thousand votes in three key states swung the election. I have no doubt that more votes than that were influenced by this massive effort by the Russians.”
    https://theobamadiary.com/2019/05/25/presidential-touchdown/

    • May 25, 2019 at 9:50 pm

“Not only did the intelligence community have the information they needed to see that Russian interference was more than sufficient to cover Trump’s narrow margin of electoral victory—Trump knows it. Because the information Clapper is referencing was included in the first presentation that the intelligence community gave to Trump in January 2017.”

I’m agreeing with THAT Joe Walsh! But I would say he’s more than just unpatriotic. He’s a criminal.

    Joe Walsh (@WalshFreedom) Tweeted:
Trump sided with Putin over our own Intelligence folks. He just sided with Kim Jong un over Joe Biden.

  19. May 26, 2019 at 8:08 am

    Trump is SCUM.
Our CIA and Intelligence community must say NO.
-How is it possible that Trump’s personal lawyer has access to U.S. Intelligence with permission to declassify to all and sundry?
-What intelligence has Putin ordered Trump to find for him? Will this lead to Putin style murders?

  20. May 26, 2019 at 8:28 am

“What he and William Barr are doing is potentially worse than anything in the Mueller Report.
Long before becoming president, Donald Trump called for the jailing of his adversaries.
Aided by Attorney General William Barr, he may now actually be training the full force of federal law enforcement against his enemies, real or perceived. Unlike Richard Nixon, who acted in secret, Trump is corrupting the justice system openly and publicly.
The seriousness of such a presidential abuse of power, and its potential for undermining the constitutional order, could well surpass any of the crimes detailed in the Mueller Report. Indeed, the Congress long ago recognized that such misconduct can merit impeachment.”
    https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-public-enemies-list-is-an-impeachable-offense

    • May 26, 2019 at 8:28 am

“As the nation recognized during the Watergate era, if the president employs the apparatus of the federal government to single out and punish political or personal enemies by making them the focus of law enforcement investigations, the perception (and the reality) of fairness on which our justice system depends will be gravely endangered.”

That’s the question??? I read an article few minutes ago that jazzi shared about Hitler. Mercy, it was spooky scary how much tRump mirrors him.

https://www.newsweek.com/hitler-incompetent-lazy-nazi-government-clown-show-opinion-1408136. Here’s the link. Let me know what you think.

      • May 26, 2019 at 10:36 am

        hi trmt, what jumped out:
‘Hitler was incredibly lazy; He was obsessed with the media and celebrity, and often seems to have viewed himself through that lens; He once described himself as “the greatest actor in Europe.”; He was deeply insecure about his own lack of knowledge, preferring to either ignore information that contradicted his preconceptions, or to lash out at the expertise of others; He hated being laughed at, but enjoyed it when other people were the butt of the joke (he would perform mocking impressions of people he disliked); But he also craved the approval of those he disdained, and his mood would quickly improve if a newspaper wrote something complimentary about him.”
—From one perspective Trump is an carnival barker, an actor who turns off the sound in order to perfect appearances.
—Enslaved by the worst imaginable crimes + the money he owes: He and (we) are being used by global fascist and neo-Nazi forces.
—Putin is giving him guidance, cash and whatever is needed for white conservatives to take over the West.

Holy shit. I’ve (we’ve) been thinking about this whole mess the wrong way!! The OPPOSITE way! It’s not that trump tried and didn’t get his Moscow Tower…. it’s that Putin helped him get elected, and if and only if, he carried out all of Putin’s wish list for the US/ world destabilizing, then and only then would he get his trump tower!!! After the US had been thrown into total chaos, after the world order had been turned on its head….after oligarchs had plundered more and the balance here had shifted, would he get his tower. Who sees this with me??

Oh my goodness! You may be onto something. There’s been so many times over the last 2+ years that I have been scared, but I am now on the edge of that cliff with fear that our democracy/republic will survive. If ‘something’ ?????? doesn’t happen soon, I think we are ‘down the drain’ as the America we have been able to keep alive for 244 years. Reading that article on Hitler only added to that fear because it truly is a mirror to 45 and hat is happening here. I think of how many times I have heard people say, “Oh, it will never happen in America.” Yeah, right?! It IS happening every.single.day., sometimes by the hour.

Thankful for this corner of ‘togetherness’ with like-minded people. We are a family and I care deeply for all of you. 🙂 Thank you, NW and Chips, we love you and miss you every day!

Actually, not the best. Dave fell yesterday as he was trying to ‘rock hop’ across a creek in the Smokies. He was hiking alone which he seldom does. Had to walk back 8 miles to a campground. Went into the office and asked for some first aid. Young woman tried to clean his arm a bit, but realized quickly she needed to call the Rangers. They arrived and said, “Call EMT’s.” Trip from back in the Smokies through Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge on Memorial Day weekend—EEK! They used sirens and lights and still took awhile!!!! Finally to ER. One broken rib and a big hematoma on his right arm. ****He is on Plavix so bleeding is a huge concern. So grateful it’s only one rib. The whole things could have been much worse. He has a hiker friend (from FL) who owns a cabin in the area so I called her when I left here. She was at the hospital in 20 minutes. Stayed with us until he was almost ready to be discharged. She took his keys and she and her husband went to the campground to get his car and have it at their cabin. We will go get it tomorrow morning. This afternoon, we are going to northeast TN for a surprise 90th bday party for his brother-in-law. Am taking the fresh bandage supplies so his great niece, a RN, can look at his arm, then re-bandage it. He is asleep on the sofa now with ice on ribs. Hasn’t complained w/pain this morning and no Tylenol yet. Always something with this hiker hubby!!!

This Administration is all about the cruelty and how much we are willing to look away from, and in so doing share in their crimes.
Do we have genuine information? How many are missing, displaced, shipped across the country, escaped from temporary home, trafficked,
hungry, badly nourished, sick, pregnant, drugged, victimized, lacking friendship or nurturing, in solitary, without educational materials, suicidal or dead? How many have medical problems as yet undiagnosed or treated (as happened recently) until it is too late? How many are pre-verbal, without love and entirely without protections? When will Trump and his enabler$$ pay for what they have done?

      Bolllocks to Brexit:
“There are several ways to make plausible comparisons.
The simplest is to compare the Brexit party’s 5.2m votes across Great Britain (Northern Ireland is not due to declare until Tuesday) with the “Bollocks to Brexit” Lib Dems and the pro-remain Greens, who attracted 3.4m and 2m. Taken together, they come out 132,000 votes higher at 5.4m.
A second method is to take all the pro-Brexit parties – Farage’s party and Ukip – and compare that against the pro-remain parties, taking in Change UK and the Scottish and Welsh nationalists. That gives you 5.8 million voting unambiguously pro-Brexit – or 34.9% – and 6.7 million voting for remain parties, including 753,000 from the Scottish and Welsh nationalists, or 40.4%.”

As in the U.S. where the will of the people is clear on guns, health care, comprehensive immigration, equal rights, etc:
The British have marched and petitioned for a new referendum that they’d very likely win. Evidence shows that most want to Remain. But the overlords (oil oligarchs and big money players) in both countries repeatedly and brazenly block action on legislation.

imo a lot of things mixed up together:
such as an empty showman in a manufactured reality media show who got votes by absolving the Christian Right of their nasty guilt. The way he got himself into this includes business incompetence, gross deception, corruption, zero conscience, uninformed, mafia crimes, sleaze of all kinds. Connected and supported by big oil, Bannon, and global neo-fascism.
-Fascination with Hitler (Ivana said so). He got caught in Putin’s jaws…soon to be chomped and crunched on by us.
