      Morning, now afternoon, df. Michelle spoke to this book group at a place about a 1/2 mile from my daughter’s home in Portland. Had I known I would have made it a point to visit her and take a stroll to go peak in the windows or something. So close……

      Wish this could happen on a federal level is wrong doing and law breaking is found to have taken place. I’d start with the SC

        Good morning all. A big hallelujah and amen to what you said, df. Start with the SC. I am hoping and hoping that if the Dems gain full control in 2021, they will add persons to the SC. I read Pete Buttigieg’s idea about that. I couldn’t quote it now, but look it up. I love it.

          Mayor Pete’s idea is to have 15 justices on the court: 5 to be chosen by Dems, 5 chosen by Reps, and the remaining 5 chosen by the first 10 justices, but only by unanimous decision of all 10. He is also open to looking at all the other suggestions like rotating them up from the lower courts, term limits and more.

    Yesterday on a flight back from Fort Lauderdale where we vacationed this past week, I happened to share a flight back to Austin with none other than Senator John Cornyn. I walked up to him and said excuse me sir, aren’t you John Cornyn, he stuck out his hand to shake mine and said yes I am and good to meet you, I replied same here. A few other people spoke to him as well, the conversations were lite. He traveled by himself, unassuming. As we were in the air word had come down that Mueller released his report, I was half watching MSNBC and “A Star Is Born.” I wonder what was going through Cornyn’s mind at the time? It was a jetblue flight, Cornyn didn’t sit first class because jetblue doesn’t have first class. He didn’t even sit in the “even more space seats,” he sat towards the back of the plane, not that I was watching him. Fort Lauderdale was very relaxing, the only thing we did was drive around and eat and drink. There’s nothing like sitting on the beach in the sand and sipping on something nice, the world’s problems seem to slip away for a few moments.

    • March 23, 2019 at 12:12 pm

      Aren’t the App scooters on the beach road fabulous! And the diversity incredible. The vibe! I did not see one scrap of judgement. Only issue was no air conditioning ‘off” button in the hotel (big wedding) so we got sore throats and came home with colds. Such a relief to be somewhere warm for a few days.

    I made a promise to myself:

    even if I do not like the findings of the Mueller Report, I am not going to be joining in any attacks of the diligent and investigators;

    by this I mean those investigators within and outside of Team Mueller who have supported their work at all levels;

    these investigators have been doing their best to deal with something even the constitution did not fully anticipate;

    what they did not fully anticipate is:

    ……….. an unrepentant evil, corrupt, and treacherous head of the executive,

    ……….. who was into power by a foreign power,

    ………..and is supported by an equally evil, corrupt,

    ……………….and cowardly political party who are singularly focused on power and greed and preserving a specific racial group;

    that is my story of how I go forward.

      And I stand with you, GCL. It is an honorable promise to make, and one that should be put in a Tweet by someone and sent around the Internet for others to sign onto.

      We have to start coming back together as a country, and to stop allowing a certain segment of our society to divide us and move us toward hatred. United we stand, as a good and honorable people of a country most people in the world still look to as a place of refuge, even if those in power try to stop it or deny it. So no attacks, no forwarding of negative findings. Thank you globalcitizenlinda.

    MSNBC, Malcom Nance:
    Mueller “only has two options as to what he can tell us. Because there’s an enormous amount of evidence that’s already out there. He can tell us he was an actual handled Russian asset who had worked and willingly coordinated and conspired with Russia, or that he is — what many other people suspect — he’s a dupe, and that he foolishly found his way into this, stumbled through it and didn’t really intend to do it, but used what he found to get himself elected president. That’s it. Those are the only two options. Both of those are a betrayal of the public trust.”

      Trump said he wants to get rid of ‘birthright citizenship’. There are 10 Russian birth agencies for wealthy mothers to be to give birth in FL:
      “Miami Care sends up to 200 Russian mothers-to-be to Florida each year. Customers can expect an elaborate package deal that leaves nothing to be desired: all logistical matters are taken care of, accommodation is provided, and medical and legal counseling as well as Russian-language assistance is ensured. A one-stop shop to attain US citizenship for your offspring, so to speak. Yatchmenev admits his company’s services don’t come cheap. “I mean, how many Russians can afford to spend 30,000 US dollars (€26,500) in three months,” he says. Adding that of those who can, more than half hail from Moscow, while the others mainly come from northern Russia, where much money is made in the oil business.”

    The top clip of Michelle Obama meeting with young Portland female movers & shakers warmed my heart. I know some of them from various campaigns. Andrea Cooper, to Michelle’s right ran Hillary’s campaign in Oregon in 2016. Andrea Williams is head of Causa which supports Latinos. Her visit was thrilling!

      GOP voters have had to make peace with voting for misogyny, racism, hatred and bigotry and with the climate destruction of their planet.
      It is all around them now and they cannot look away. Meanwhile Dems have the monopoly on the opposite with such kindness and intelligence. Including imo Jay Inslee, (Governor of WA state as seen on RM recently) who is extraordinary.

        I really like him, too, df. I’ve been watching a lot of the interviews he has been giving and invariably the interviewer says something about how young Pete is, being that he is 37 yrs old, intimating perhaps he is too young to be President. Even though the Constitution says you have to be at least 35. If he were to win he would be 40 yrs old when he takes office.

        I want to point out something, though, to help put this all in perspective for us. Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, has recently been all over the world press because of the horrible terrorist attack on the people of Christchurch. Leaders and press all over the world are complimenting her on her extraordinary handling of this incident and what she has done to bring her country together again and start healing. Jacinda Arden is 40 years old. She was 37 years old when she became Prime Minister of New Zealand.

        Age has nothing to do with a person’s ability to lead.

          I REALLY like him. More and more with each interview I hear or something I read. Df, bet you missed my reply to you early this morning. It had to do with your comment about the SC. I read the transcript of an interview Pete B. Had done with someone. ?? His idea of how to add people to the Court was fantastic! 42. March 23, 2019 at 10:10 pm

    Oops bone spurs easy to confirm:
    “As Donald Trump continues to attack, criticize and whine about the late war hero and former Arizona senator John McCain, a new query has emerged. During an interview on Thursday with Anderson Cooper, former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey, a colleague of McCain’s who also served in the Vietnam War, said he wants something from Trump. Kerrey wants evidence of the bone spurs that Trump claimed he had in order to dodge the draft. Turns out you don’t outgrow bone spurs, so it’s relatively easy to confirm their existence.” (Salzillo, DK)
    -Hey while he’s at it, how about his birth certificate, college transcripts and tax returns.

    Didn’t know till now that —
    14 countries have banned or in the process of banning, cancer-causing Glysophate (Roundup = Monsanto/Bayer):
    Germany, Belgium, Bermuda, Colombia, Netherlands, El Salvador, Sri Lanka, France, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman.
    Also California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon and Virginia have stood up to Monsanto.
    International Director of Organic Consumers Association Ronnie Cummins: “For decades now, the public has been exposed, unknowingly and against their will, to glyphosate, despite mounting evidence that this key active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide is harmful to human health and the environment.”
    -After notices went up that Roundup was to be sprayed in our parks, i wrote ‘Poison, Cancerous” on each notice. And wrote about it here – thanks.

      At the checkout yesterday the young assistant suddenly broke down in tears. After we talked she said she was ‘just depressed for no reason”. Hardly a surprise given the pounding the U.S. is taking. Got me thinking that I’ve written maybe too intensely on some topics

        Good day, brp. I believe we need some balance in our lives. All Trump, Mueller, etc., and no play, no beauty, no other topics and the PTSD that df mentioned gets much worse. So we need to think about and know about other topics that you and others bring to TOD, just as much as we need the funny tweets, beautiful photos, great music, and all the postings Nerdy provides of our POTUS and FLOTUS.
