Thank you so very, very, very much, MP! Also, too, along with the heart-warming memory of CC’s lovely masterpiece all the hugs in the post are as uplifting as they were the first time around! I do feel so contented being a member of this community. 🙂 🙂 🙂

The top 4 banks that invest most heavily in fossil fuel projects are all based in the US:
JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi, and Bank of America. Royal Bank of Canada, Barclays in Europe, Japan’s MUFG, TD Bank, Scotiabank, Mizuho make up the remainder of the top 10.
= They have shelled out 1.3 Trillion dollars in support of fossil fuels following the Paris Climate Deal.
= Bank financial backing for fossil fuels have grown, though they [and Exxon} try to do cover optics by giving a little cash to fighting the fallout.
= Morgan Stanley predicts climate damage of predicted $54 Trillion in damages worldwide by 2040.

“Coal mining finance is dominated by the four major Chinese banks, led by China Construction Bank and Bank of China, and the most financing to coal power projects as well… JPMorgan Chase also provided the most financing to LNG projects, Arctic oil and gas projects, and ultra-deep-water oil and gas extraction, the report concluded…The Royal Bank of Canada topped the list on tar sands oil financing… Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase are the biggest bankers of fracking overall — and, in particular, they support key companies active in the Permian Basin, the epicenter of the climate-threatening global surge of oil and gas production.”

Exactly. I’ve heard Rachel and Pete Williams talk about “sealed indictments” regarding all this mess before. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised but I lost faith in this investigation a long time ago when nothing was done to Trump, Jr for lying about that Trump tower meeting and Trumps coverup of that incident.

Trump and his minions will have field day with this. I’ve always wondered why no conspiracy charges against Manafort (remember the polling data he shared with the Russian) or Flynn for that matter. Well, I cannot say that I’m surprised. So Stone wasn’t conspiring with the Russians (via Wikileaks) to aide Trump in the election?

I think he’ll slap trump on the wrist for attempting to obstruct justice with the firing of Comey and the rest will be as they say history…..

          • March 22, 2019 at 6:13 pm

We’ve never seen such blatant disregard for the law and abuse of power and then this. I don’t know what’s next but we need to emphasize that Trump and Putin are in a tight partnership and always have been.

        • 51 jacquelineoboomer
          March 22, 2019 at 6:14 pm

I’m not giving up yet. There’s still a grand jury in SDNY (I think that’s the district), and one of the subjects is still assisting in part(s) of the investigation.

          • March 22, 2019 at 6:20 pm

I don’t know enough about how these things are done but if Mueller didn’t indict anyone regarding the Trump Tower meeting, didn’t find wrongdoing pertaining to all the money laundering during the campaign, hasn’t seen fit to connect the dots between Cambridge Analytica and Manafort and Trump, I don’t how that gets passed over to SDNY.

            March 22, 2019 at 6:28 pm

They won’t touch him until he is out of office and Trump and his conservative entertainment complex will beat the drum for the next two years that it’s just political. There will be no impeachment but plenty of investigations.

Yes he’ll get his comeuppance when he leaves the White House but this long suffering nighmare of a Presidency is no where near over. If there had been conspiracy indictments of people close to him I believe that would have made a difference. Trump will just use this outcome to rally his base to keep him in office so that SDNY can’t touch him.

Sorry everyone, this is a great day for us who are political junkies!!!!

I am therefore making this for the blog …. I need to read this out of my heart and head and into a safe place

At 5.02 p.m. March/22/2019 (it is important to note these details for history), it was announced that Special Counsel Mueller turned in his trump-russia report to the Department of Justice (DOJ) after 37 indictments and 22 months of investigating.

Whatever it contains, I do not know …….. and neither do most of those who are speculating.

The people who really know the specific are not talking – that has been the characteristic of Team Mueller.

All I can say is: stay tuned, breathe, and keep an open mind about where we go from here because most punditry will just be speculating based on their legal knowledge and politics.

Some of contents of the report will eventually be known. Because some information is counter- intelligence (meaning clandestine/spying) stuff, it remain sealed for many years.

LIVE STREAM: Robert Mueller has delivered report on Trump Russia investigation to Attorney General

  34. March 22, 2019 at 6:57 pm

I have zero doubt that the worst days in Trump’s life, and many around him, are coming ….

Remember, Robert Mueller was hired to Investigate, not to Prosecute.

Even in that role, look how many have been successfully prosecuted under his role as SC.

All those prosecutions have one thing in common besides success, they yielded troves of information on criminal activities of which we have only seen a fraction. What they didn’t reveal, except through the ineptitude of Manafort’s lawyers are any of the criminal activities involving Russia (and other State actors).

  39. March 22, 2019 at 7:59 pm

Conspiracy and obstruction are both very difficult to prosecute and have very high bars to obtain convictions. Mueller is a seasoned and realistic professional and completely aware of the highly polarized and politicized environment. Clownstick and his gang of criminals and thugs did both. It’s obvious. But that’s not the same as having clear and abundant evidence for these difficult to prosecute crimes. And? Many other investigations continue, including financial fraud, insurance fraud, etc..

A tribute to Gazelle and her ongoing attempts to remove WTF from her vocabulary. Gazelle, I love how your word of the day, yesterday I think it was (I’m running a bit behind at the moment) was Numpty. I liked it so much that I adapted it to a poem we all know.

Numpty Trumpty tried to build a wall
Numpty Trumpty had a great fall
All the Republicans and all Putin’s clan
Tried to get the country to support their money laundering plan.

Maybe just leave it at “All the grifters, all the arses, couldn’t….”

or for the last line “Extricate themselves from Mueller’s plan.”

Hmmmm, we could go on for hours with this. Thanks Gazelle.
