I love this picture– I can only imagine how Merkel feels, after her many years of work, knowing that Pelosi is now at the helm in America. If I’m feeling tremendous relief–and I am– then Merkel and other Euro leaders must be ecstatic.
I won’t post it here, but that photo of the idiot standing at the omelet bar as his resort.. looks like the place smells like mildew. Just saying. Or crusty people
I thought the same thing. Membership fee doubled to $200K when the monster took office with $14K annual dues. The place looks like a neglected dump with a filthy kitchen to boot.
Leaving elections vulnerable to foreign meddling signals that this President doesn't believe our democracy is worth protecting. It’s time to create a National Russian Threat Response Center that I proposed last Congress to keep election security safe from political interference. https://t.co/3aMGNNXTlA
This woman is such a great leader and human being.
I can't imagine your loss. Thank you for serving our nation with such strength and conviction, for working hard to right the wrong. You are loved and appreciated.

Tulsi Gabbard might as well come out and ask WikiLeaks to hack her opponent(s). This is pretty clearly an appeal to Assange/WikiLeaks (and a pledge not to pursue them legally if she were in office).
That she speaks of WikiLeaks like this in the present is extremely troubling. https://t.co/NN6tPZexCR

Eco reduces the qualities of what he calls “Ur-Fascism, or Eternal Fascism” down to 14 “typical” features.:
-The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”
-The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Ur-Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”
-The cult of action for action’s sake. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection.
-Thinking is a form of emasculation.”
-Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”
-Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”
-Appeal to social frustration. “One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.”
-The obsession with a plot. “The followers must feel besieged. The easiest way to solve the plot is the appeal to xenophobia.”
-The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”
Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”
Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”
Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Ur-Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”
Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”
-Selective populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People.”
(Trump: “I am your voice”.)
-Ur-Fascism speaks Newspeak.
“All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary,
and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.”

(SPOILER) Trump's multinational pre-election collusion (chief co-conspirators: 🇷🇺 , 🇸🇦, 🇮🇱, 🇦🇪) has its origin in two international events, which together offer a key to understanding the Trump-Russia scandal:
From the article…. As Blee noted, “the political lesson of Klan history for those working toward a more just and egalitarian society, is the ease with which racism and intolerance appealed to ordinary people in ordinary places.” https://t.co/NbV7Ks09kW

Funny how you vividly remember some things you heard in your childhood more vividly than others – pretty sure when they covered things with “shock” value to your little innocent ears. My grandparents (back in the 1950s) had a new picture frame on their piano with a woman’s photo in it – back then, some of the black and white photos in the frames you purchased were of movie stars, although I didn’t really know that at the time. I asked my grandmother who the “woman in the photo” was and she responded, “Hedy Lamarr. Your grandfather’s in love with her.” I was so shocked, I don’t even think I mentioned it to my mother, who idolized her dad. Ha! Apparently, this is National Engineer’s Week, and this tweet is a nod to Hedy’s contributions (I don’t think they’re why my grandfather loved her, though). And Happy President Obama Day (I’ve renamed it) on Monday! Goodnight, TODville.
We're celebrating #EngineersWeek! Did you know that Hedy Lamarr, who's best known as a glamorous star of black-and-white film, was also a brilliant mathematician and co-inventor of frequency hopping, a precursor to GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi technology? https://t.co/5c4XTi1vbhpic.twitter.com/quU56VYerK
A THREAD: Trump’s non emergency is actually an emergency. He is attempting to whittle away any checks and balances that are left in government. No checks and balances = authoritarianism. We should all be concerned about it. Very very concerned.
On your way out, you take one last look in the hallway mirror, to ensure your horns & hooked tail are fully retracted, “Damn, I look good.” You sneer an evil sneer as the hellgate opens. The humans will never suspect your true identity.
I’m old enough to remember when conservatives thought Obama was going to manufacture a crisis in order to grant himself emergency powers to cease land through eminent domain (Jade Helm), and then Trump actually did it.
I'll be at the LA City Hall rally tomorrow @ Noon. Thank you Gov. Newsom & AG Becerra for filing CA's lawsuit! Thank you other cities & states filing lawsuits! No better way to spend Presidents' Day than rallying to stop this crazy President w/ his fake emergency to build a wall!
I’ve always loved basketball because it’s about building a team that’s equal to more than the sum of its parts. Glad to see this expansion into Africa because for a rising continent, this can be about a lot more than what happens on the court. https://t.co/lghcLaUN9a

Bayard Rustin, seen here in 1964, surrounded by young people before a demonstration, was a a civil rights & gay rights activist & chief organizer of the 1963 March on Washington.
Lindsey Graham says military children need a wall more than they need a middle school. When you believe & enable white nationalism, you can convince yourself of almost anything.
I am convince either Trump or Putin have something on Lindsey Graham. Or maybe he was hurt by John McCain’s death so much that it has affected his mentally. I don’t know. Graham is a disgrace. How could anyone say that a wall is more important then school.
My thoughts are that all the GOP candidates that were in on the dark money fix by collecting Russian political funding through NRA donations are guilty like Trump so are in favor of Trump’s enactments.
Last night I blew up at my son, he disrespected my man-cave. I have a projector screen with a 7 channel surround sound system connected to it. For Christmas I got him a PlayStation, which was really for me. Last night I went upstairs to add my son’s own avatar to the system so he can play against his friends online. Anyway when I get upstairs the projector screen was very blurry, I asked him what happened to the projector screen and he says to me “nothing,” you can clearly see that the screen is blurry, so I told him that he disrespected the man-cave. He goes up there and totally defile my sanctuary, he has contempt for my sanctuary. I was so mad last night, and then my wife, she’s a piece of work that one. She always takes his side against me. She goes and tells me that maybe the bulb on the projector needs to be changed. After that I lost it, I told her I was going to bed, she got upset that I didn’t want to watch “Housewives of Atlanta” with her, how can I watch that with her when my mind is in a dark place. I couldn’t watch it because I can’t believe that my son would disrespect my man-cave which was going to eventually be passed down to him when I leave this earth, it was contemptuous of him.
I liked the part where you got him the Playstation that was really for you:) You’d get along famously with my husband! I suggest a nap. All will be well with the family when you wake up.
A nap is what was suggested to me, my wife said I should go lay down but I couldn’t because I was too upset. Kids these days just can’t appreciate art or craftsmanship. I spent a lot of money on getting my man-cave just the way I want it, and my son comes in and totally disrespects the man-cave. And he doesn’t know to put things back where he finds them.
I’m here, I just want someone to understand where I’m coming from. He didn’t even want a PlayStation, I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he says he wanted to go to the Nike store and Vans store and Polo store. When I was a kid Kmart was good enough for me, but kids these days they don’t understand quality and they sure as heck don’t appreciate a person’s sanctuary. The man-cave is where I go when I want to relax and mediate, I have the candles going and everything. But he comes in and brings bad juju, playing games on his cellphone and laughing out loud just to irritate me.
Gotta admit that gave me a good laugh, this morning, Don! I’ll just offer you a sincere “Poor baby,” and remind myself to stay away from your man-cave, if I’m ever in the neighborhood. 🙂
Thank you, George. Let’s see who listens and understands
The greatest gift of Washington to the United States was his refusal to become a king, his recognition that the American revolution was fought against men who placed themselves above the law and that our country existed as a repudiation to that idea.
We have talked alot about the constitution…but i am here to say that the amendments that expanded the rights of the least of these has blood all over it…blood ..sweat..and tears of the folks fighting to make the words real the folks who resent that expansion elected Trump
