      Look, Axe is a good strategist, but I’m so goddamn tired of hearing about the WWC being the Holy Grail. And that every candidate should cater to the WWC in order to get their vote. Last time I checked the WWC gave us trump, and before that they gave us Bush I and Bush II, and before that they gave us Dutch. Since 1980, when has the WWC not voted against their own best interest? In 2008 the fever broke and the WWC had their come to Jesus moment and they voted for Barack. Barack proved that with a message of inclusion and good government all things are possible. My fear is that whichever Dem candidate we end up with will think that the only way to salvation is to go with the WWC at the expense of every other group.

      The fix is in:
      Today little Donald suspended U.S. obligations under the “Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia, without
      attempting to fix the compliance problem with Russia. Not by magic, Putin immediately announced he too is out.
      Ranking Foreign Relations Senator Menendez: “President Trump clearly lacks an appreciation or understating of the importance of arms control treaties and today’s withdrawal is yet another geostrategic gift to Vladimir Putin.”

      • February 2, 2019 at 1:54 pm

        Dicktraitor openly bequeathed his fellow murdering autocrat and leader of a hostile nation that has attacked our democracy, the imminent path and threat to destabilize Europe.
        –MEDIA pls get this out there.
        –Pls don’t wait till trump and conspirators have taken us all down with him.

    Felt like comparing (2017) Russia, (2017) Italy, (2016) U.S. spending per capita + defense spending per capita in 2017:
    Italy’s per capita = $31,989
    Russia’s per capita = $10,956
    USA = $59,792
    Italy’s defense expenditure per capita = $487
    Russia’s defense expenditure per capita = $467
    USA = $1,883

    • February 2, 2019 at 3:11 pm

      well now and Russia’s GDP is now smaller than it was in 2013.
      Guessing Dicktraitor, Kochs, Putin and McConneliites are gearing up for the mineral riches in the ever more accessible melting Arctic.
      = now valued at $30 Trillion.

      Who needs somebody like Northam in the governor’s office, if he gets NOTHING about the ramifications of his actions (then and now). Truthfully, I knew just about nothing about him before this, but every time I look at him now, I see Kavanaugh. Let’s weed that “look” out of the Democratic Party, year by year. Let’s use the power of politics to set a better example for our children and grandchildren.

      He can be recalled by the Virginia house which is under Democratic control. He really needs to go, hopefully a sufficient amount of pressure can be applied by all sides, this is insane. The guy attempted to moonwalk at the presser before his wife stopped him.

    Apparently Northam went be “coon-man” while in medical school, and he admitted to going blackface to a dance contest at which time he dressed up as Michael Jackson. Now I graduated high school in 1985 which was probably the height of the Michael Jackson mania. As a matter of fact my wife is from Jamaica, she herself has told when she was in high school in Jamaica her and some of her friends dressed up as Michael Jackson. I remember the Jackson mania very well, but I can’t ever recall white kids that dressed up as Michael Jackson doing so in blackface. The presser that Northam gave yesterday was so goddamn insane, the fucking guy was about to moonwalk before his wife intervened to stop him. The only presser that I can remember that was worst than Northam’s was Budd Dwyer’s. You might want sit out the Budd Dwyer presser.

      From the article….

      Suppressing votes is not merely a racist act, nor it is simply the last resort for a party out of ideas. Voter suppression is traitorous. Intentionally restricting access to the ballot is a violation of the ideals that we have been told are inherently American. The United States government is of, by and for the people. Yet we are barred from the fundamental democratic process by those in power merely because our skin color predicts our political persuasion. The Supreme Court’s 2013 Shelby vs. Holder decision should have had people marching in the streets to restore that landmark civil rights legislation to its full powers — or at least made that a key topic of the subsequent presidential election. We are lucky if outlets use “racially tinged” or other cowardly terminology to reference it. Voter suppression is not an accident, as Chief Justice John Roberts would have us believe, some benign exclusion from the small-d democratic process. It is a form of violence.

      • 66 Don
        February 3, 2019 at 12:09 pm

        Well stated, Sheila, it is indeed a form of violence. To ask a person to tell you how many bubbles are in a bar of soap in order to gain access to voting is one method that was used against black people when they went to vote. America can build a rocket that can travel from one end of the universe to the other end of the universe, and take pictures of stars and moons and planets billions of miles away. But America wants to use her powers to deny the black and brown the right to vote. This becomes so tiring and so heavy that it weights you down, every so often he have to battle the right to vote because our right to vote is always under attack. Do you know how much energy it takes to keep fighting this one particular fight, every couple of years we have to fight for our right to vote? I’m just talking about the single right to vote, forget about fighting for education and the policing of our communities and the fight for fair housing. This one particular fight that we have to fight. It’s like an athlete training for the decathlon as opposed to training for one particular event.

        • 67 desertflower
          February 3, 2019 at 2:03 pm

          This made me cry. Really, truly. We must keep fighting so that this isn’t a recurring issue. Just one of so many. We have to rise up and take control and have a government that represents the true will of the people. One that has concrete laws in place so that rights of marginalized people, or POC will not be destroyed on the whim of a authoritarian/ racist legislator/POTUS. This is the 21st century FFS!! We need to finally get this right and do right!!

        • February 3, 2019 at 3:48 pm

          and yes it is so discouraging when you have the press…NYTs…Face the Nation…give Trump a platform for his lies and malicious untruths…HE IS A RUSSIAN ASSET….

    From a football only standpoint I think the Patriots will take the Rams today, Bill Belichick has a way for taking away whatever it is that you do well and turning it into a liability. This will be one of the rare Super Bowls that I’ll be able to enjoy because I’m not emotionally attached to any of the two teams. I’m a Dolphins fan which means I get my heart broken every year, well not really broken, I mean I know that they aren’t going to anything that matters so there’s not really a letdown at the end of the year.

    Leaked from the WH about Trump: “60% of his scheduled time in unstructured “executive time.”
    Lots of time to mess around with the future of our troops, threaten attacks on other nations, gloat about separated little children getting sick, badly nourished, neglected, forgotten, abused and dying in his jails; setting the stage for workers to go without pay, risking our national security, risking our lives on understaffed TSA and Air Traffic Control; erasing evidence about climate change; lying about a border wall; plotting with McConnell, Putin, the Saudis and Big Oil; preparing to LIE through his fast-food teeth in Congress tomorrow.
    How the eff is he still there?
