    Hats off to Jackie, Barack, and other African Americans throughout our history who blazed the trails for many to follow. Black History should not be confined to a month of attention!

    Welcome to the Democratic Primary contest, Kamala and Cory! Drop you arrogant and destructive plan to run as an Independent, Mr. Starbucks Moneybucks Schultz!

        Sure run for office, run for House of Representatives or the Senate, replace DiFi as a Dem or Independent, but he has much knowledge about being President as the current nitwit. It’s ALL about protecting his precious MONEY!

    Easy question starter for 2: Why would the little russian withdraw from a 50 year-old peace-keeping INF nuclear agreement that successfully protects Europe from Russia because…PUTIN is in violation.

      • February 1, 2019 at 3:00 pm

          Totally agree 0388 and Meta. I really get sick of folks saying that Democrats does not have a message. MSM chose not to focus on our message. They focused on crap like HRC’s emails in 2016, and totally ignored her policies. Democratic policies always favor all working class families. Sherrod Brown is not telling the truth.

          • February 1, 2019 at 3:18 pm

            I was turned off to him when he fought PBO’s TPP tooth and nail. And now this. There’s something about knocking Dems right out of the box and implying this racism, as if he’s some kind of savior. I just cannot. (His wife was also a huge HRC fan in 2008 and emphasized that by being negative against PBO, but I digress)

                Oh yes, I remember that, what really pissed me off about the whole situation is that they (Warren, Sanders, and others) couldn’t even show President Obama the deference that Democratic Presidents are usually shown by Democratic members of congress.

        February 1, 2019 at 5:17 pm

        Corey was positioning himself to be the Black hope when PBO came out of nowhere and stole his thunder. All eyes turned to Barack who got the prize and the accolades that Corey thought would be his. The fact that he has to mention PBO in this trying to be slick way shows his jealousy and aggrievement. His roll out commercial was also designed to appease white people in a way that was almost sickening. Take a close look at it if you have not seen it. Then take a look at how white male liberals like David Axelrod and Jon favreau reviewed it. CB better learn fast that dissing PBO will not go over well with Black voters.

      I did not know much about Buttigieg, except for a few clips here and there.

      I decided to hear what he has to say … in his own words and not in soundbites;

      I am glad that I did because I have my first impression of him without using media filters that will come later as the campaign progresses;

    I have my thoughts about particular candidates in the Democratic field.

    however, I decided weeks ago that I would share ANY message from ANY Democratic candidate that promotes Democratic ideas and DOES NOT attack other candidates or the party as “establishment”;.

    I am also blocking accounts that are promoting what I consider false or unacceptable messages – one strike and you are out …. I am not allowing bots or perpetual professional whiners about Democrats to be in my time … once fooled …..

    one thing I am trying hard to learn is to take a deep breathe when a story comes out …. especially if it is mainly being pushed by some people whose past causes me to doubt their motives …

    I am trying to ask these questions whenever I can: (a) who originated the story? (b) who stands to gain from the impact of this circulation?

    I do not always succeed … I hope people here have better control than I do

    These are just some random thoughts that I have, they might not be coherent.

    President Obama was a global citizen, he was born in Hawaii and he lived in different countries. There are pictures of Obama with his grandmother in her village in Africa, his father worked for the African government in finance, I think. President Obama’s thinking as a black man is in some ways different than the average brother and sister born and raised in America. As a young man when Obama visited his father’s homeland, he saw black men and black women running the government for the most part, seeing that daily will make you think that it’s normal to see black people in power. Now converse that with being black and growing up in Florida or California, the people that run those states don’t look like you, and for the most part they’ve never looked like you. So how does seeing people that look like you not having any political power effect your thinking? To be a black man or a black woman or a white woman or a Hispanic and run for President is not for the weak. If you belong to any of those groups of people that I’ve listed, mentally you have a greater hurdler to clear than your average white male that runs for President. Psychologically speaking, if you are a minority you have been told your entire life that you’re not worthy. So, what drives Harris and Booker and Warren and Castro to run for an office that they have been told in so many ways that this office is for white males only? I remember about two years ago I had to give a PowerPoint presentation during Black History Month at work. I went through our history, then I got to President Obama. I told my audience that President Obama won’t be realized today, his greatness will be self-evident years from now when its common place for a black man or black woman or white woman, or Hispanic to hold the presidency.

    • February 1, 2019 at 8:15 pm

      Even though we so closely followed PBO around the world for 10 years, I feel like there’s still so much we don’t know about him. But one thing we know for sure is that he is strongly committed still to the cultivation of global leadership, building his foundation upon the strengths of those young leaders he invites to build and connect. And through his unique upbringing, all those travels and all that curiosity, he managed to understand what is essential in life. I do think he is an architect at heart.

    • February 1, 2019 at 8:54 pm

      yes growing up with people who look like you and all around you must build strength and confidence more easily – wherever that happens to be. PBO had a foot in a multi-ethnic world and was searching for self-acceptance (according to his memoirs). I think he turned that search outwards towards others and the future of the planet.

      Dr. King said the same thing about Jamaica when he saw that the leaders were all Black, the people at the airport were all Black and he was fascinated by that. Seeing Black leaders in Kenya must have made him proud.

    Teacher gave the class an assignment to choose a section of the Lous and Clark Expedition and create a diary entry. Young girl responded:
    “I am so mad! I took 3 annoying men who were very stinky to find he best rout to the Pacific Ocean, found horses, food, and peace so tribes wouldn’t attack us! I did that whole journey, but the thing is I (underlined) did most of the work not Lewis, or Clark, or my husband! It should have been called the Sacagawea expidition! I DID ALL THIS WITH A BABY ON MY BACK YET THE MEN DID MORE COMPLAINING!
    And I got zero $. like come on! I’m never doing that again.”

      Republicans never have to resign for their misdeeds. Remember David Vitter, senator from Louisiana, who was a regular patron at a “prestige” Washington brothel? He stayed in the Senate. It was a different sort of misdeed that did in Richard Nixon . . . .

      And I think the worst misdeeds will be unraveled around President Trump and the members of Congress who have been protecting him. Treason is a very good reason to force a politician to come to trial and spend the rest of his/her life in maximum security prison.

      Northam was already in medical school, which means he was already in the 1% in future income. What is it with people and blackface And the Klan attire? How do you draw power from walking out the front door of your house or apartment with that shit on? The fucking guy was in medical school, Me-Di-Cal school, that’s a license to print money. But how do you jump from the studying about the central nervous system to smearing black shoe polish on your face And or wearing a KKK hood and dress? But as someone on t.v. last night said, “how did this just come to light?”

  49. February 2, 2019 at 10:12 am

    DEMS will drive out of office elected officials for egregious behavior and the GOP will not… the press does not focus on that…do you think that if Northam had told about the year book, when he was running and that he is a changed man …with receipts…that he could have been elected…

    it is always the DEM side that the nation wants to hold accountable…

    After sleeping on it I’m not so sure that I stand by what I said about the Virginia Governor remaining in office. Maybe he should step down. There is a qualified Lt. There is nothing funny about the Klan, they terrorized black people, they were are no different then the terrorists from the Middle East, except they were white. .

      So last night after this story broke, Northam had all night to figure out a way forward.
