      Congratulations on first, CEB!

Yes, he is! It’s truly inspiring to see what these young leaders are doing around the world to help their communities.

      Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening TOD.

“Nancy Pelosi has ripped away the veil” from Trump’s power (and incompetence)…

In every criminal’s life they dream of that one big score that got away. Wherever they can find an audience that will listen, they’ll talk about the big one. That one score haunts them, in their quiet moments of solitude they replay every step and try to figure out what went wrong and where. When trump walked into the Rose Garden yesterday he looked like a man that had seen the big score slip away. Trump has no more angles to play, no one left to bully. Nancy Pelosi stripped trump of everything he had left politically. Trump’s wall was going to be his monument to himself, trump chased after that wall like Captain Ahab chased Moby Dick, and with the same belligerence. Trump stepped over the bodies of Federal Workers to get his wall, and he wanted to vanquish anything that stood between him and his wall. And now he’s left with nothing, oh sure, in a couple of weeks he’ll pretend to go after that wall again, but it will all be for show. Once again he’ll bluster and bully his way into another showdown in which he’ll fail again. But all of this will pale in comparison to the fight that’s just beyond the horizon for trump. And the next walk he makes, it very well maybe be into an arraignment.

I often think about what she and PBO could have done if the Dems had not been voted out of power in 2010. In just two years before that they accomplished a lot. True greatness can be delayed but not denied. Praying hard for Nancy Pelosi.

  5. January 26, 2019 at 1:45 pm

    Speaker Nancy Pelosi yesterday:
“”The indictment of Roger Stone makes clear that there was a deliberate, coordinated attempt by top Trump campaign officials to influence the 2016 election and subvert the will of the American people. It is staggering that the President has chosen to surround himself with people who violated the integrity of our democracy and lied to the FBI and Congress about it.
In the face of 37 indictments, the President’s continued actions to undermine the Special Counsel investigation raises the questions: what does Putin have on the President, politically, personally or financially?
Why has the Trump Administration continued to discuss pulling the U.S. out of NATO, which would be a massive victory for Putin?”

    • January 26, 2019 at 1:46 pm

      further…
“Lying to Congress and witness tampering constitute grave crimes. All who commit these illegal acts should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. We cannot allow any effort to intimidate witnesses or prevent them from appearing before Congress.
The Special Counsel investigation is working, and the House will continue to exercise our constitutional oversight responsibility and ensure that the Special Counsel investigation can continue free from interference from the White House.”

Sheila, that’s on my mind a lot lately. With so many good Dem senators running for president, I hope we can settle on a candidate early so the rest can support that candidate and also ensure their own reelection.

  30. January 27, 2019 at 5:52 am

What i love about Kamala Harris…is her JOY…her excitement….about running for President…i look forward to her run….but my concern is the integrity of our elections..Russia is still attacking us…the GOP will up the ante on voter suppression….so we have to be on our best game..and stay alert

    • January 27, 2019 at 7:42 am

Totally agree with your full comment, Shelia. However, I do believe that millions more people are ‘woke’ this go ’round and that includes Democrats all over the country…….those in Congress, state houses, governors, legislatures, people running campaigns, etc., etc. Large majority of us, including leading politicians, campaign people, etc. weren’t ‘awake’ and prepared for what Russia did……..the bots on Twitter, Facebook, etc. Now most people are fully aware of those things.

      • January 27, 2019 at 8:00 am

I agree…if we give into the hype then we are indeed fools…i am not worried about the starbucks guy or sanders (although he still irritates me)…my biggest concern is the infrastructure of our elelctions…the press…and more voter ID laws coming down the pike…but as PBO says…we must become engaged citizens…taking our democracy in hand

Trump 2004: “You know, mobsters don’t like, as they’re talking to me, having cameras all over the room.”
“It’s pretty clear that he’s been connected to organized crime since at least the 1970s when he hooked up with his infamous mentor Roy Cohn, who at the time was representing leaders of the Genovese crime family during a federal racketeering investigation. It’s well documented that Trump was “connected” both as a builder in New York, where many of the construction trades were infiltrated by the mob, and then in Atlantic City, where he ran casinos. In more recent years his real estate ventures have resembled vast money laundering operations, mostly for the benefit of criminals with foreign origins.”

Wayne Barrett “The Deals and the Downfall” (1992)
“Even at this early stage of his career, he (Trump) both threatened me and tried to bribe me. He offered me an apartment. I don’t know how he knew that I lived in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, in Brownsville. He said, ‘I understand you live in Brownsville. Wayne, you don’t have to live in Brownsville.”…in the course of the same interviews — and this was all on tape — he advertised that he had already sued and broken one journalist.”

BUT HILARY’S EMAILS AND PRIVATE SERVER WOULD RUIN OUR COUNTRY IF WE ELECT HER! Never mind she was married to a former successful President and a Senator of the U.S.A. The media’s ratings would be more interesting if we help elect a liar and con man.

When this is all over the next President (hopefully Democrat) will probably have to go to our allies with hat-in-hand begging for forgiveness. We’re going to have to work to regain our standing in the world, I don’t say that lightly.

Saw a photo taken by border police: About a dozen people climbing over border wall using a ladder, in fact a low-level misdemeanor.
-Looked up 1911*U.S.C. 325: “Improper time or place; civil penalties.
“Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of— (1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry).”

Stop the unnecessary fake issue wall:
Following a wall “It won’t be long before guard towers, snipers, and mine fields follow.”
“While they proclaim to be pro-life, they are anything but. If your skin color is not white, if you speak any language other than English, then your life is worthless to them….Killing innocent, unarmed citizens is the mindset of Trump and his followers.”
      https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/1/27/1828848/-Trump-must-never-get-his-wall
(6 Billion dollars just the beginning. Final cost more like 10 times as much.)
(Cost of Trump shutdown estimated at $6 Billion.)
