    thinking about the reports that traitor-in-chief has previously been observed to tare up and “eats” notes/documents;

how does this relate to the current reports that he confiscated the notes of the interpreter ????

how is his digestive system able to handle that kind of “roughage” ????

“The integrity of our process to serve as an independent check on the Executive Branch must be respected by everyone, including the President. Our nation’s laws prohibit efforts to discourage, intimidate, or otherwise pressure a witness not to provide testimony to Congress. The President should make no statement or take any action to obstruct Congress’ independent oversight and investigative efforts, including by seeking to discourage any witness from testifying in response to a duly authorized request from Congress.”

Instead of leading the world away from its worst impulses, as America did for most of the 20th century, President Donald Trump’s demands for a wall on the U.S. southern border look to be leaning closer to the autocratic acts and optics of tyrannical regimes.

Throughout history, autocratic leaders have relied on walls to control their people. From the fierce tyrant who first began building China’s Great Wall in roughly 220 BC to Soviet leader Nikita S. Khrushchev (my great-grandfather as it happens) who ordered construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961, walls have represented undemocratic forces. … https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/trump-s-wall-mexico-follows-footsteps-authoritarian-leaders-throughout-history-ncna956411?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma

That’s a powerful article condemning Trump’s authoritarian tendencies and his desire to build a divisive wall. Republicans need to read it and learn something about how walls have always been contentious no matter where they are built.

    POWERFUL..

It’s time we acknowledge that brands, like ours, play a role in influencing culture. And as a company that encourages men to be their best, we have a responsibility to make sure we are promoting positive, attainable, inclusive and healthy versions of what it means to be a man. With that in mind, we have spent the last few months taking a hard look at our past and coming communication and reflecting on the types of men and behaviors we want to celebrate. We’re inviting all men along this journey with us – to strive to be better, to make us better, and to help each other be better.

Unpaid TSA folks not turning up for work, tired, and fed up = GUNS on planes.
“An airline passenger carried a gun through the TSA checkpoint at Atlanta’s airport and carried it all the way through to his overseas destination, according to a report from Channel 2 Action News.”
    https://www.ajc.com/news/just-atlanta-passenger-gets-gun-through-tsa-and-japan-destination-reports-say/1y0uAEI8kme7o5miKNiAGM/
-Why should TSA personnel shoulder the responsibility of protecting national security when their families are neglected, bills unpaid.
-What does the right hope to gain from this? Fear-mongering? Are you disposed to fly now that you know a gun could be on the plane?
Human safety on flights affects business, tourism and government: Short-sightedness, indifference or strategy?

I think, bridgeriver, that Putin is having Comrade Frump do anything he can to disrupt the American way of life in an effort to bring this country to its knees. What I think Putin does not understand is the American will to succeed, to endure, to overcome whatever obstacles are in our way. He does not understand how we rise from the ashes again and again, how we take what little we have and share it with our neighbors and with strangers when necessary. So while it is scary and unnerving, and there are definitely innocents that are being hurt, it is imperative that we all remember who we are, Americans, and that we are better than this. How appropriate that the Gillette video is right above your comment. In this case, the world is watching us and how we are responding and will respond to this calamity we are enduring. Hold strong everyone.

I agree. We are supposed to be too distracted to pay attention to the treason going on in the US government. At this point, any time you see a GOP politician you know that he/she is either defending the indefensible or actively engaging in it. Nothing else is possible for them.

I don’t think we can … and that interview was on MSNBC btw. I really wish that PP supporters reap what they sow.

Back in 2015 I took a road trip from Toronto to Chicago and then to Memphis / Nashville and back. One of the things I saw while driving was a giant billboard with derogatory messaging about PBO. Right there… out in the open … giant billboard clearly visible from the highway! I was SHOCKED. I had not seen anything like that – I forget now which state that was in but ….

Why are these ppl so full of hate …. is it a chemical imbalance??? If it’s a colour thing … do these ppl hate darker skinned animals like they hate darker skinned humans????? I know I’ll never understand it but I wonder, nevertheless.

President Barack Obama signed Veterans Choice Bill in August 2014: (LYING TRUMP claimed today that he passed it.)
“VA summary of the bill said it would “allow those Veterans who are unable to schedule an appointment within 30 days of their preferred date or the clinically appropriate date, or on the basis of their place of residence to elect to receive care from eligible non-VA health care entities or providers. This is separate from VA’s existing program providing Veterans care outside of the VA system.” (politicus.usa)

    • January 14, 2019 at 4:31 pm

Jason Easley: “The legislation didn’t take 44 years to pass, and it wasn’t Trump’s idea. Trump’s biggest accomplishment has been trying to let his Mar-a-Lago buddies come up with a way to privatize the VA. Donald Trump has done virtually nothing for veterans, and one of his other favorite myths, the 10% pay raise for active duty military, is also a lie. Trump has so few legislative accomplishments, that he has to steal Obama’s.

In general, Republican presidents do much less for veterans than Democratic presidents. it’s the same thing with the economy. The US economy fares better under Democrats than under Republicans but the Republicans take credit for every good thing that the Democrats do.

I think members of the US Coast Guard should receive the same protections as members of the other branches of the US military during these histrionic GOP temper tantrums which seem to occur every few years. Nah. The GOP is trying to distract, once again, from the reality of their involvement in the Russian collusion mess – which they created by choosing their presidential candidate in 2016. A little integrity then might have prevented the mess we’re all in now. And, where were these GOP noble men during the 8 years that President Obama was in office? They were busy saying “no” to everything.
