I agree Mitch McConnell need to go, just like Trump. This is not just Trump’s fault, it’s the fault of every single Republican who remain silent and allow Trump to do what he is doing. I can only hope that the people of Kentucky will wake up one day and get rid of McConnell. Also just look at what Lindsey Graham has become, it is pitiful.

Think I spotted earlier than furloughed federal workers are out rallying in Kentucky … not that McConnell would ever listen, since he probably thinks “federal employees are Democrats” like his horrible WH master thinks.

    • January 12, 2019 at 12:02 pm

Now THAT’s what I’m talking about. Senator Tester no-holds-barred telling it like it is. LOVE it.
and yep McConnell is working at Trump’s behest. His excuse is Trump won’t pass the bill, but one way to resolve this life-threatening situation is for Trump to do nothing – then the bill becomes law after 10 days. But will Putin sign off on it?
Fact: McConnell has had Russian financial backing for quite some time.

  7. January 12, 2019 at 10:13 am

This is an article form 2016…
I am now in sync with Bob…about Truth and Reconciliation…I am beginning to see other raise similiar issues….

“As the 2016 elections play out across America, it has become impossible to ignore just how fractured our country has become. Regardless of who wins the election, I fear we have gone too far down the road of anger and hate to heal as a nation, without some form of severe intervention or collective awakening.

What if we could establish a National Reconciliation Task Force? We could repurpose some of the same “hearts and minds” types of campaigns that we wage in war zones, deploy people to towns and cities across the country to host engagement sessions. Unfortunately, that would require government action, a departure point that is already laden with so much distrust that it would be impossible to convince much of the country to participate or believe in the intentions.”

here is the update about the young Saudi lady whose plight caught the global attention.

She was trying to get away from Saudi Arabia but her journey was then interrupted during her stop in Thailand.

Authorities in Thailand tried to get her back to Saudi authorities.

She locked her self in the hotel in the airport transit location and sought help from ordinary people on the ground and on social media.

Together with people from many parts of the world, many used Twitter and all tools to ask other countries’ diplomats and leaders to demand that they grant her asylum.

I posted her requests for help here a few days ago.

    …wondering if…
Declaring a “national emergency crisis’ was ever the default goal of the the GOP/Russia architects.
In a manufactured emergency chaos fallout, it’s possible to bend the Constitution in the dark of night. And besides the immense damage to U.S. National Security, there is the Trump persistent damage to our Economy. Perhaps after realizing that Dems have the upper hand going forward, the Koch/Russia default is to crash the United States economy. Thus creating a new economic global meltdown situation for the next president.

    • January 12, 2019 at 12:33 pm

Highly possible. In fact, this goes to a number of tweets I have read that this shutdown may very well be directed by Putin for exactly what you say in your comment. Crash our economy, chaos, high unrest and distrust, etc. Never ending story for the GOP. It’s just bigger now and with the help of Putin/Trump, even bigger still and more damage can be done.

I wish the media would spend more time highlighting Mitch McConnell’s part in the government shutdown. He seems to be getting off blameless in this by collaborating with Trump and not doing his duty as Majority Leader of the Senate. Just like he did by not allowing a vote for Obama’s SC pick.

I have previously said the same thing here. We need to also focus like a lazor on mcconnell and his enabling republicans.

many people have fallen for the superficial announcement from “some republicans are breaking off from individual 1” but these end at the announcements/press statements. where is the backup in terms of actions?

  14. 31 Don
    January 12, 2019 at 2:15 pm

We had a meeting at work about the shutdown, all in all the executive staff tried to do the best they could with the information that was decimated to them from Washington. Most if not all of my coworkers continue to show up to work, no one is showing any outward emotions or stresses about the shutdown, though we have been provided with resources to help us deal with the situation if needed. Even though I’m not getting paid I hope the Dems don’t give into Trump, I want them to stand strong.

National Air Traffic Controllers Association sues government:
“over failure to pay members for work performed during shutdown. Seeks temporary restraining order for 5th amendment violation.”
‘The air traffic controllers, traffic management coordinators, and other excepted aviation safety professionals that NATCA represents remain on the job, dedicated to the safety of every flight, but they don’t know when they will receive their next paycheck. If not for the shutdown, NATCA members would have begun to receive direct deposit of their pay into their accounts as of this morning.”

    • January 12, 2019 at 9:28 pm

Having just flew-ed, it did cross my mind about the unpaid folks in the towers making sure our plane didn’t crash midair. And all the unpaid TSA employees checking out passengers to keep us safe, shouldering national security responsibility while their families are neglected. It must be getting old. I hope they demand double time back pay. imo 1) there should be a special back up fund that covers federal workers during shutdowns, period. And 2) the President should not have the power to shut down our Government. The little russian must be brought to heel.

Okay, I will admit that I am now very suspicious of many things. Here is another. I have never been sastisfied with the explanation of why, pompeo, that lying scumbag and bootlicker of Individual 1 so quickly left the position as head of CIA. I suspected that the professionals at Langley saw through his pompus but oblivious to how empty his head truly is, the ease by which lies, and his treacherous devotion to Individual 1. He is another nunes who so badly wants to carry favors with traitor-in-chief that he would share with him information that they are keeping from him. Based on these, I think the Agency rejected him. The garbage he regugitated recently in Cairo reinforced my earlier suspicions. I truly despise that scumbag

Malcolm Nance who regularly appears on the Joy Reid show said a long time ago that the investigations taking place by the F.B.I and other U.S. agencies is nothing more than a spy hunt.
