I have been thinking that Speaker Pelosi and Sen Schumer should STOP going to the WH (or any place the traitor-in-chief asks them to come to) until those two evil scumbags (aka traitor-in-chief and the excuse-of-a-human being from KY) allow a vote for and sign the bill to end the shutdown.

Why is he testifying next month? So many things can happen like accidentally falling out a 20 story building by accident. I can’t believe the Russian mafia letting him live that long. Very scary times.

    • January 10, 2019 at 9:00 pm

I’ve read that his testimony before Congress will not touch upon Trump-Russia so as not to conflict with Mueller’s ongoing investigation. But he’s also being invited into closed session.

I heard one of the congress folk (in fact, it may have been Nancy Smash) say a little while back that they need a couple weeks before having hearings because they have to build up the new majority staff, etc., and something about checking all boxes to follow constitutional guidelines or something.

How’s that for clarity from me? Think I’d better be off to dreamland, now! Goodnight to you and TODville. 🙂

When will MSM and Independent/Moderate Republican realize that the Republican Party IS the party of bigotry, racism, hatred and crazies. THEY stood by and would not lift a finger to vote to get USA out of a recession/near depression because THEY CAUSED IT with their policies when they were in charge. They have learned to not be a co-equal partner to a despot RINO rather than get primaried in an election. Just like the WH Occupant they are only interested in themselves, screw everyone else.

What happened to we don’t give into terrorist threats? The thoughts were it just encouraged more hostage taking resulting in more threats. Donald Trump is using terrorist tactics on his own country citizens. Isn’t that alone enough to kick him out of office? If not, it should be.

I’m very proud of Democrats for hanging tough against this phantom wall. As 800,000 federal employees scramble to survive without pay, the hatred directed towards Republicans will become more intense. They will pay for this wall charade.

  38. January 11, 2019 at 1:31 pm

Representational democracy on the brink….fascism watch by Daily Kos:
“Donald Trump prepares to declare a “national emergency” over a campaign slogan, bypassing congressional authority and setting up a
    precedent for unitary government.”
“Republicans either stand aside as Trump overruns Congress, or actively encourage Trump to seize control.”
“Trump leverages the suffering caused by the shutdown he engineered to excuse taking action that invalidates the basic structure of American governance.”
“National media continue to treat seriously ‘the idea of a ‘crisis’ on the southern border, despite knowing that this is an entirely manufactured confrontation.”

    • January 11, 2019 at 1:40 pm

= declaring an “Emergency” (shock doctrine) is a prized Con pathway: To fast track and circumvent changes to the Constitution.

It makes me sick to my stomach when the talking heads tell their audience that the “DEMs need to over this or that” when THEY KNOW this is just a STUNT by wh occupant to satisfy a campaign promise and has NOTHING to do with “border security”. I just turn off the talking heads because most won’t say the truth and wants to act like this is NOT a constitutional crisis that the Republicans are going along with to get re-elected.

I watched less than ten minutes of MSNBC last night and was furious as reporters blamed Democrats for not offering anything. No mention of the fact that Trump refuses to budge at all on his insane wall idea. For some reason, the news media always blames the Democrats while never inviting any Democrats to appear on the programs to address their proposals. One would think that the Democrats were the “evildoers” in this scenario. News flash to the media: it is not the Democrats who declared the shutdown. It is not the Democrats who are allowing the White House to destroy our country. It is the GOP that is so fearful of the man they put in the White House that they will not stand up and defend their country.

Bravo to the fabulous Trudeau!! However TransCanada wants to build a 670 km Coastal GasLink from Dawson Creek to Kitimat.
Unist’ot’en: “The RCMP’s ultimatum, to allow TransCanada access to unceded Wet’suwet’en territory or face police invasion, is an act of war. Canada is now attempting to do what it has always done – criminalize and use violence against indigenous people so that their unceded homelands can be exploited for profit.” (Guardian).
So now First Nations protestors are being attacked by…RCMP.

Shortly I’m off to a meeting at work about the shutdown, other than not getting a paycheck everything else is going reasonably well. Earlier today I received and signed off on my quarterly evaluation, and according to my boss I’m an excellent employee. Some rating periods I’m an excellent employee and other rating periods I’m an outstanding employee. Maybe if I engaged in more small talk and brought breakfast tacos in for everyone I’d be considered a model employee LOL, but since small talk bores me and I’m not a breakfast person I’ll keep receiving ratings of excellent and outstanding. The stories about the TSA employees not getting paid is really sad, they aren’t even paid well from the outset and now they are in an even more bad situation.

Didn’t realize you’d already posted this, Bob! Also saw on Rachel’s show that Sarah Sanders has already issued a made-up statement declaring trump was “hard on Russia” (ugh) but President Obama wasn’t. Until the day he dies in a prison cell, trump will always be comparing himself to our last REAL President. Ugh. (That almost makes me detest him more than I detest that he’s an agent of Russia, truth be told.) I hope trump goes down within these next few months, because he needs to stop being anywhere attached to the White House and our national security, not that he should have been there in the first place.

Apparently, this “HOT” story just dropped via The New York Times …

    • January 11, 2019 at 9:45 pm

We’ve seen the “plain sight’ strategy from the get-go:
At the 2016 RNC Trump and campaign did a switcheroo and argued against arming Ukraine forces, and then he said “honestly, honestly I didn’t do that”. And famously when he bad-mouthed FBI director Comey to Lavrov and Kislyak, chucked the American press out of the Oval Office yet allowed the Russian press photographer at that meeting….

      • 116 jacquelineoboomer
        January 11, 2019 at 10:40 pm

Definitely. We’re all numb to it at various points, but luckily the FBI isn’t! Also, I just checked, and trump hasn’t tweeted anything about this … or anything else … in the last four hours. Very telling. He’s scared. Yes!!!!

Someone asked “why now”. This is why now:

“the F.B.I. officials debated whether to open the investigation, some of them pushed to move quickly before Mr. Trump appointed a director who might slow down or even end their investigation into Russia’s interference.

He’s about to appoint a director of the FBI that will try to squash Mueller’s report. If Barr is appointed and ends or withholds Mueller’s report he should be removed as well.
