should read…"In a move that undermines democracy…Republicans strip power from newly elected Democratic officials"….The press is taking all these authoritative moves by the Republicans as JUST politics…they are not…a mark of a democracy is the peaceful transfer of power.
the left left attacks on Dems have to be noted…you have to wonder what is REALY going on…keep in mind all the misinformation that pervaded the 2016 elctions…Remember it has not stopped…Misinformation….propagnda…voter suppression….attacks on democracy…be alert….

Thank you for posting this. I don’t want to be paranoid, but I also don’t want to be stupid. Russia’s goal is not Trump; it’s the destruction of the West. They’re not done.
Appearing on Fox Biz, Louie Gohmert says "George Soros is supposed to be Jewish but you wouldn't know it from the damage he inflicted on Israel and the fact that he turned on fellow Jews & helped take the property that they owned."
Either way, defiance gives Wisconsin Democrats the best leverage. If Republicans are not going to be shy about abusing their power to subvert democracy, Democrats cannot back away from standing up for the power voters gave them on election night.

Bernie Sanders is like a dog that chases a car, but not really wanting to actually catch the car. If Bernie actually caught the car then his shtick would be over, Bernie’s power is in barking, but not much else.

Berniebros see Beto as a threat. Truth be told, I am not super hot on a Beto for president candidacy, but the Berners' firing squad means Bernie is petrified Beto will take the "working class white" vote from him and then convince them to vote for the eventual Dem nominee. https://t.co/nwWWecI1iY
Sanders supporters have launched a coordinated attack on liberal firebrand Beto O’Rourke for being a neo-liberal establishment shill, even tho Beto is arguably at least as liberal as Bernie. @cliffschecter & I discuss in today’s @UnPresidentPod podcast.https://t.co/HpvbLL5IFG
It makes one wonder who Bernie Sanders is working for. Certainly not the American people. Is he working for the GOP or their Russian puppet masters perhaps?
Remember Sanders used Russian misinformation against Sec Clinton during the 2016 campaign…in addition he knew that his campaign had been infiltrated yet he did not inform anyone…and lastly…Devine was an associate of Manafort..

This morning’s Twitter freak out is a reminder that a hyperpartisan Congressional majority has brought democracy to the brink by enabling behavior it would never tolerate from a president of another party.
I’ll just be snarky here a bit (I save the real snark for people I REALLY don’t like) … been holding back … but I swear Kelly and Nielsen are tied in more ways than one. So, I’m thinking when he goes, she goes – and vice versa.

No one in Trump’s administration needs any qualifications. Trump certainly did not have any when he ran for office. And we’re all paying the price for it.
These are the same people who wanted to secede and break CA into 3 separate states. They will still be able to file claims thanks to the CICA but they should not be able to rebuild in these dangerous areas.
I remember a few years ago hearing a woman tell me that the insurance company she was insured with would only insure money to rebuild after her fire if she rebuilt on the same site. Rather than give her the money to build elsewhere. Wonder if that is the overall policy for fire insurances?
2/3 – I am sick and tired of conservatives across the country running hateful campaigns and then expecting everyone to go back to business as usual after campaign season – that's some privilege.
Days later here’s how I wanted to respond:
We were 2 parents and 3 children.
Dad was a bricklayer because according to his brothers – he was too good looking to go down the coal mine as they did. So spotty seasonal work and then (when I was five) on his way home in a work van, some of Dad’s brains ended up on the street. Never worked the buildings again, language center damage, angry outbursts. My mother was beautiful, brilliant and climbed the civilian air force ladder (math). But after clearly beating out the guys in uniforms – she hit the glass ceiling which sent her seriously around the bend for decades. Before that she brought the bread home to our little apartment, did the cooking, washing, we kids shared cleaning, at 10 years my sister got the family groceries. At 4 months I was handed over to whoever until I went to nursery school = long hours. My sister took me on her bike both ways. Ok so I didn’t really know who my Mother was for a long time. She was so busy, very angry if I demanded her attention which got me a crazed slapping especially at bedtime while lying down in bed.
…So years later Mom started apologizing to me, so sorry that she never had time, didn’t treat me right, didn’t know me.
She did get us into a house eventually and was determined we’d all receive higher education. But our relationship was very poor. I forgave her, but later on. A working class kid she’d taken care of her parents – and then us. Could have been a professor or anything she wanted, but you know…for a woman…life. In the end she coughed a codeine pill into her lung and it festered. At 93 her body was that of someone much, much younger and was a cause for enquiry I think. As a 16 year-old by strange good fortune she trained as an olympic swimmer, trained early in the morning and without much in her belly. Beat the future olympic contender often. So a strong body and a fearless fierce mind, a beautiful auburn, what should have been a groundbreaking career that didn’t reward her for decades of impossible juggling.
–Yet her MESSAGE is that she, she, she would have given ANYTHING to stay at home with her children = if she’d had the chance.
Myself a breast feeding counsellor years ago, we concurred that Mothers should do everything in their power to stay home with their children until they go to school. It goes so fast and every day counts. In life hearts are broken. We need to be empowered early by unconditional love and nurtured when we have no voice and no power. We need to be physically safe. I know I wasn’t. And early damage to self-esteem does not fully recover. Feminism is also be about protecting future generations. Where possible CAREERS can wait for a few years. Children are a special divine gift and I would give a princess-ly sum to have one.more.day with my babes and children.
-thank you immensely for the voice you’ve given me.
That is absolutely … can’t think of the right words. If you’d like to consider it, I’d say the more you share this, the more other mothers and fathers will see it. It’s so important. In the meantime, thank you for sharing this important “take” on women and “careers,” here at TOD!
hi J’Ob! Woke up today with that funny joke about “many are cold, but few are frozen.” heh. And that other one about we only receive problems we’re big enough to solve. Sat down and wrote this boarded up aspect of life above, not intending to post. (Then someone told me hurry up gotta go and I did.) If i could’ve just stuck to a few lines about careers i might feel better about it! Maybe we all have odd stories when you actually write them down. And thanks for your own stories J’Ob. Don’t know about you but I do get a shock on the re-read! Similarly with parents stories (and their parents). Literally bygone eras that I started to record but didn’t follow through on before they disappeared. So much we will never even try to convey and never say….hugs and thx to you.
Many hugs and thx right back to you! Your story was meaningful to everyone – I know it was, to me. We are real people and it’s good to share what keeps us real, every now and then while we’re experiencing the unreal in the WH! Love your “many are cold, but few are frozen” and will have to be stealing that, somehow! Also, your “we only receive problems we’re big enough to solve” will guide my day, sweet one!
Good Afternoon, TODville Community.

On his 100th birthday, get to know Timuel Black, a lifelong friend and mentor of @BarackObama and a legendary organizer and historian who embodies the spirit of the South Side: pic.twitter.com/G4r5QjIyRc
Both these FINE GENTLEMEN have lived long, wonderful lives, serving their country and neighborhoods for their family and friends. To live a life so fully is the greatest thing a person can achieve. I salute our octogenarians. Mr. Black sounds so strong, not like so many elderly I know who makes it to this remarkable age.
Thank you so much, Nena, for sharing this. Timuel Black is one my heroes. In the 60s he was very active in championing the rights of Black workers going after AFL-CIO unions that discriminated against Black workers. He is still going strong at 100 years. I wish him a very Happy Birthday and many more to come.
December 7th, 1941 was one of the most horrific days in American history — but it was also a moment that spurred a generation to serve our country with selfless heroism.
I love these lazy Friday afternoons, for we do not know what the weekend will bring beyond our own planning. I suspect that when Mueller drops his latest album some time this evening, those that are prominently mentioned in it will have many thoughts. I can only offer this, now is not the time for fear, that comes later.
If it turns out in NC 9 that more than 900 absentee ballots intended for the Democrat were spoiled, deep-sixed or turned into R votes, the remedy is to declare the D the winner. Rs, including Harris, now calling for a new election believe that in a much lower turnout they win

This is big news. Previously reported first contacts between Russian officials and Trump was spring 2016. This dates it to Fall 2015 https://t.co/ZQU3ay2DqS
Wow. Mueller filing says Cohen provided the investigation w/ information on "Russia-related matters core to its investigation" that Cohen "obtained" via contact w/ the Trump Organization during the campaign. What matters? Trump said he & his firm had nothing to do with Russia.

yayyyyyyyyyy
Terrific. “Individual 1” tweets “fake news – enemy of the people” and CNN’s office in NYC get a “five bombs in your building” threat.
Smart man, that Winston. And goodnight, TODville – and all the ships at sea. Go, Navy!
Yes!! Come through, Mueller!
Morning everyone
Good morning! Has John Kelly’s departure from the WH been confirmed?
I think he’s been checked out for months now. Would anyone notice a difference?

No one in Trump’s administration needs any qualifications. Trump certainly did not have any when he ran for office. And we’re all paying the price for it.
