That is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST obituary I’ve ever read. I didn’t actually laugh or cry (in keeping with the promise of the story), but at the end of my reading, both happiness and tears came to my eyes. Ha! Thanks for sharing. This is the best.

I’m listening to Morning Joke, I mean Joe talk about Trump, Saudi Arabia and that missing America journalists. Okay I want to hear how the evangelicals, Fox, and the Republicans explain this. The fact that America might have known that Saudi Arabia was planning to kidnap this reporter, and kill him. The fact that Trump has said nothing about this, he is not tweeting or told Saudi Arabia that we want the truth about our citizen.

    • October 12, 2018 at 7:10 am

Bumping off dissenters, opposition, journalists. Watching for signs.

    • October 12, 2018 at 7:15 am

Turkey said it has audio and video of the journalists being torture and murder and all Trump is talking about is $100 billion dollar arms deal. A man life may have been taken. Well Trump has talk about $100 billion arm deals, he did say the journalists may not be a American citizen, then someone had to tell him that he was.

Democratic aide arrested advocating for voting rights in Texas

Rachel Maddow reviews the history of voting rights battles at Prairie View A&M University in Waller County, Texas, and talks with Mike Siegel, Texas Democratic congressional candidate, and Jacob Aronowitz, Siegel’s campaign field director, about Aronowitz’s arrest after delivering a letter of support for voting rights at the school on Siegel’s behalf.

    But MAGA, remember?😕

Barack Obama saved the American car industry. Now Trump’s tariffs are demolishing it. They’ve cost Ford $1 billion in profits, resulting in massive layoffs. Tired of winning yet? https://t.co/e433eD1feN

Kanye was not born impoverished. His mom was an English professor and his father was a successful photographer.

He grew up in a middle class neighborhood in Chicago.

Maybe a good start would be not to just assume he grew up poor because he’s black? https://t.co/0Uf5uX2Z9p

Good afternoon, TODville. For those who don’t know him, the guy tweeting this has a law firm in the Orlando area. He’s CONSTANTLY got ads up on TV for his law firm, with the tagline “For the People.” When you live there you get sick of him. But now that I find he’s for Andrew Gillum, I’m suddenly drawn to him. Ha. Especially when he adds (about Gillum’s current opponent and the current yucky governor, “This fellow Ron DeSantis, he is a carbon copy of Rick Scott. His policies are exactly Rick Scott’s policies. The only difference between Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott is DeSantis [is] a lot shorter and has got a full head of hair.”

Dicktraitor is a Walking Perjury Trap so he’s has ended up agreeing to answer 15 Mueller questions in writing. (NYMag and others reporting)
There may be a 2nd round and even an in-person. Curiously Trump now saying he’ll “do whatever to get it over with”. Kavanaugh protection?
After faffing around for a year…saying he’d never sit down for interview…like he isn’t much 50,000 per cent guilty.

  52. October 12, 2018 at 1:57 pm

Important to note that the MISSION to Save Our Democracy…will not end with a Blue Wave in November…it will just be beginning…

What Frum and Muder describe is also underway already. As Zachary Roth documented over two years ago, Republicans have understood for a while now that they are in the minority and crafted strategies designed to demonstrate that “being outnumbered doesn’t have to mean losing.” We’re seeing that unfold right now with their attempts to suppress the vote in Georgia, North Dakota and other states.

A blue wave will give Democrats the tools to fight back against this erosion of democracy. But make no mistake about it, the efforts of Trump and Republicans to maintain power won’t end there. As a matter of fact, they’re likely to intensify.

I’m Dying. Here Is What I Refuse to Accept With Serenity.
Voting is not nearly enough. We need to become organizers.
    By Ady BarkanTwitter

On September 30, 2016, Rachael and I celebrated one year of marriage and 11 years together by booking a hotel room in Los Angeles and going out for fancy Asian fusion. It was our first night away from our 4-month-old son, Carl. Rachael had a great new job as an English professor in Santa Barbara. My career as a progressive activist was going gangbusters. We had just bought a beautiful house and could see decades of happiness stretching out ahead of us. We were the luckiest people we knew.
The next morning, we had brunch with my oldest friend, a first-year medical resident. I mentioned to her that my left hand was feeling weak, and after playing with it for a few minutes, she told me I needed to see a neurologist.

The following Friday, at the ripe old age of 32, I was given my death sentence: The doctor told me I had ALS—amyotrophic lateral sclerosis—which would rapidly destroy all the connections between my brain and my muscles, leading to complete paralysis and death, likely in three to four years.

Three weeks later, our world was turned upside down a second time, when America elected a racist kleptocrat to the White House.
