Aloha desert flower, and congrats on the furst. 😊. I just returned from a wonderful hula festival, and am literally steeped in Hawaii’s Aloha. I immediately got back to writing postcards, with high hopes for change come Nov. (But why wait for November? Let’s hope for a resignation this week!)

One of the best parts of the gotv postcards is getting to know Dem candidates all over the country. We sent over 283,000 cards for True Blue Dems in the New York primary, all candidates I’m excited about and hope to see in public service for many years. Today I wrote cards for Atfab Pureval in Ohio. He’ll be a terrific addition to the US Congress.

Thanks to Nerdy for the posts, the passion, the persistence. Much love to you all.

Oh. Another list for us all to be on whether we like it or not.
Didn’t go so well when Trump’s corrupt (with lunatic Kobach) voter commission asked for every voter’s regisgtration data.
No. No. No. Not going on Trump’s list so he can say whatever he wants when he wants on my phone.
You don’t know what it might lead to because he lies about everything.
      Nyet. Nein. No.

I just want to apologize from all of us in Hawaii. When we had the accidental ‘Korea has attacked! Incoming missile! This is not a test!’ warnings, we were pretty upset. Some people were desperately trying to get their kids from school, get to a shelter, get some water, and so on. Seems somebody in an office was a little casual about the equipment. Nobody wanted to take the blame. Eventually, it was decided that a national security emergency warning should be initiated by the Feds, not an hourly worker in Aiea. All good, crisis over. Lol. Really, if we’d known it would lead to Trump using the official emergency alert system to troll everybody, we’d have kept quiet and just fixed the system locally. Truly, extremely sorry.

I’m sure they assumed that any country music singer is a “good ole boy” – ‘Christian’, conservative.

Thankfully Willie and a couple of others are exceptions to that rule.

    Good morning, TOD!

Nerdy, as always, I thank you for keeping the home fires burning! This is my calm port in the storm as I deal with “Life 101.”

Once again, I “THINK” I’m in the final countdown to get back into my home. All that is left is ornamental plaster work, refinishing stairs, tile work, and painting. Please continue to pray that I’ll not need the TOD Bail Fund…

Off to track down my tile order… Read you later…

    Have a Blessed day!

These are the types of tweets that Dems should be BLASTING every time the GOP tries to weasel or blame someone else.

People need to learn or be reminded of their voting records at every turn.

Unbelievable blessing of a man! What an inspiration and dynamite speaker is our Joe Biden speaking here about LGBTQ and human rights:
-I sat around the computer with a Trans friend to hear Joe speak. She said he spoke from the heart, portrayed the reality that the LGBTQ community has faced for so long, the discrimination, the terror and mistreatment. And made it clear there are entities in the government who still want to take use back(Pence) and we must continue to fight hard for everyone’s equality.
Joe can get into your experience and deeply relate. Stunning.

“To feel that certainty of a mother’s love…to feel you’re not alone…we’re collecting personal stories…hearbreaking, inspiring…The vast majority of American people are already with us…are already way ahead of us. 57% (Quinnipiac) already support gay marriage.. we must demand more of our leaders who represent basic American values, respect decency and equality…Barack and I agreed to remain silent to let this Administration get up and running in this first year – god forgive me! (Laughter.) But I couldn’t remain silent after Charlottesville.. I wrote an article “the battle for America’s soul”…The idea that goons could come out at night with torches…chanting anti-semitic bile…”good people in both groups”? Our children are listening….vast majority of people are with us….last week in India…how they did it…their SC decided to decriminalize homosexuality and cited landmark United State SC giving people equality….the power of our example that has allowed us to lead the world….your courage (I think you underestimate it) gives millions hope…thousands and thousands of people have come forward…”faith sees best in the dark”….stand up to the abuses of power! And make sure Everyone is treated with dignity…Believe in yourselves and how much more you can do. The disease of homophobia we can end it…go spread the faith, vote, vote, vote.” (paraphrasing a section)

Wapo: “”Years later, after going through psychotherapy, Ford said, she came to understand the incident as a trauma with lasting impact on her life. “I think it derailed me substantially for four or five years”… said she struggled academically and socially and was unable to have healthy relationships with men. “I was very ill-equipped to forge those kinds of relationships.” She also said she believes that in the longer term, it contributed to anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms with which she has struggled.””
Only 15 yrs old when Kavanaugh tried to rape her. Not hyperbole to say that (if me) my brother would have knocked the guy into outer space. Wondering what might have been in the cards for Kavanaugh if she hadn’t kept it quiet.

      Oh, but watch them try.

Lindsey Graham was right…Trump will destroy the GOP, because they’ve stood by and allowed everything done by this criminal, racist, incompetent administration to proceed unchallenged.

I will be mildly surprised if the vote is stopped on Thursday. Maybe it will be because enough GOP Senators are too afraid of having a rubberstamp “Yes” vote on their records as more about Kavanaugh is revealed.

Agree PF. We don’t know what Feinstein was dealing with. The issue is Kavanaugh. And it’s worked out because now Professor Ford

Caveat: Having been, literally, ‘living across the street’ from one of the core members of Nixon’s gang during the entire Watergate episode thus having access to all that was appearing in the media (and elsewhere) plus observing some bizarre displays of ‘we are totally fucked’ behavior — what is happening now is magnitudes worse in terms of scale and danger. Entirely.

Maybe if the Republicans weren’t trying to rush this nomination through they might would have had the time look into this matter. It would not shock me if the Republicans didn’t already know about this. I do NOT trust anything when it comes to these Republicans.

    • September 16, 2018 at 5:33 pm

I don’t know if this is true or not, but I do believe it does not bother the Republicans at all as long as it is a Republican. After all look at their President. Remember Roy Moore. Judge Thomas.

I totally believe it. There is NOTHING that this administration has done that the GOP has stopped.

They’re essentially saying that if their token GOP women are scared about the optics of their voting records, then that’ll be the signal to back off. But if Collins and Murkowski are good, then let’s roll!

Democrats need to vote in November like never before.

Well, I call often enough to blast him on his cowardice so I should give credit when he does something good for a change. I am hesitant, but will call his offices daily to voice support and encouragement for his actions here. He needs to do the right thing. Maybe he’s thinking of his daughter or his wife…what if this had happened to either one of them. He needs to put the brakes on and hear her.

It seems consistent in his prurient interest in bringing down Bill Clinton. This is a man who has absolutely no respect for women. And the 65 women who were so willing to sign a statement about his lifelong virtue should think about how well they really knew him. Maybe not sot well?
