    It’s a totally made up Witch Hunt. All run by a decorated Viet Nam War combat veteran, lifetime republican, appointed Director of the FBI by a republican president. His term was extended by PBO! Dude sure has a thing for witches. 😀 😀 😀

      Let’s for once be America w/out hyphens to our heritages. Why has that persisted? That simply plays into the divide-&-conquer adopted colonial divisionist modus operandi.

        It’s been extremely useful in “special emphasis” affirmative employment programs, both government and corporate, and in institutions of higher learning, to open doors for millions by setting goals for consideration based on their representative percentages in our total population. Hasn’t always worked out, of course, but it sure helped.

        For everyday usage, it’s ridiculous and divisive, as you intimated.

    Been following some of the Andrew Gillum campaign pages here and there, and looks like people in Florida are fired up! Even saw a couple comments of former Republicans who switched to the Democratic side and intend to vote for him. People sharing contact info for local campaign offices, to get yard signs, etc. There’s even a group of “Gillum Democrats” aligned within “The Villages” (where people assume only older white Republicans live!).

    I intend to move back there one fine day (where most of my grandchildren are), and I’m hoping he’s the new governor. And that Bill Nelson stops that awful Rick Scott from taking his Senate seat!

    Hi everybody.

    I learned about this recently and find it very useful. You know how the Twitter timeline is now showing tweets out of order and from accounts you might not even follow– this filter restores your stream (under the “Latest” tab) to tweets from people you follow, tweeting in real time: realtwitter.com.

    Love, Kat >^..^<

    • September 15, 2018 at 8:32 am

      Howdy,Kat! It’s such a weird experience to bypass twitter’s latest algorithm and see the tweets of so many people I haven’t seen in months in real time. Completely different experience and makes me really wonder why twitter was so closely managing and editing my TL without my knowledge.

    Good Saturday Morning, beloved TODbots.
    Congrats, Betsy on your Au ⭐ Furst. 😉
    This happened in OH.
    Les Wexner, a GOPer in OH, Wealthiest man there, raise Millions for GOP. Quits GOP, after finally hearing Pres Obama speak. I guess he stopped hating and allowed his eyes to see & his ears to receive The Words by Pres Obama.

        WOW! Les Wexner was the owner of all The Limited stores…remember them? He basically owned the town of New Albany…you knew it was Wexner’s because of the white picket fencing around all the properties….So glad that he saw the light!! Better late than never!

          since then, he has bought out most of the core of the city of Columbus. he has also extended his purchases to the other Columbus suburbs and small towns in Ohio

    • 36 globalcitizenlinda
      September 15, 2018 at 10:30 am

      this is huge news in Ohio … he is “the money man” for the Ohio’s republican party ….. he funds a significant portion of most of the republican campaigns;

      ….. in Columbus Ohio, he has practically bought up most of the city, is imprinting it with his Wexner name. he has also led to a huge influx of new investments from other Fortune 500 corporations;

      republicans must be stunned by this developments;

        September 15, 2018 at 10:41 am

        So good. This makes my heart happy:) I knew he had a huge imprint, but I haven’t been back to Columbus in years…late ’90’s when my mom passed away. Glad he really listened to the words of President Obama and took them to heart. Others would do well to do the same.

    • 38 carla4obama
      September 15, 2018 at 12:25 pm

      From the article:
      Wexner spoke warmly about Obama and about the theme of bipartisan civility, something he has been promoting in recent months. “It’s a great moment for the community,” he said of Obama’s rather secretive visit to Columbus before his Cleveland rally for Cordray. “I know he came here because of the Partnership and the things we have done, and the knowledge that civility is a priority for our community. He wanted to touch it and feel it for himself.

      “I was struck by the genuineness of the man; his candor, humility and empathy for others,” Wexner said of Obama.

      Those comments presented a stark contrast to Wexner’s comments about Republican President Donald Trump. A little over a year ago, the billionaire CEO said in a speech to L Brands employees that he felt “dirty” and “ashamed” following Trump’s response to violence that erupted at the Unite the Right rally that left one dead in Charlottesville in 2017.

    yes, Les Wexner quiting the republican party is very huge news in Ohio … he is “the money man” for the Ohio’s republican party ….. he funds a significant portion of most of the republican campaigns;

    … none of us in the TOD village is surprised that meeting and listening to, and getting to know our Forever POTUS, PBO was a key moment in his transformation ……. many people denied themselves the chance to enjoy PBO’s time in office and the role of other members of Team Obama

    … I am very glad that I did not miss a moment of #POTUS44InOffice

      The president is stressed – we need to cut back on his schedule!
      His schedule has been EMPTY for the past 3 days. How do you cut back on doing nothing. The first US President in my life was Harry Truman. Never has there been a man in the oval office as lazy as trump. He is disgusting in what he does and what he does not do.

      Hello TODers – the election of this man has sent me into a depression, the likes of which I have rarely seen. Cannot believe it happened.

    “Within half and hour of the New Yorker publishing its story, Sen. Chuck Grassley…released a statement signed by 65 women who knew Kavanaugh around the time of sexual assault allegation.” (thinkprog)
    1) It takes a loong time to find 65 women from 30 years ago.
    2) Hello the Senate was ready with the list within HALF AN HOUR.
    3) Betting these 65 women didn’t know their so-called character reference would be used for excusing Kavanaugh of RAPE.
    4) What did Grassley know and when?

    • September 15, 2018 at 12:47 pm

      Interview these 65 women.
      Has anyone tried to find old friends? How long did it take? Would they have discredited another woman’s rape?
      Character reference letters are commonly deployed by men accused of sexual misconduct. e.g. Roy Moore.
      -What did Grassley know and when?

    • September 15, 2018 at 12:53 pm

      Media problem: e.g. NPR simply reported about the statements by the women released by Grassley with no further comment.
      NPR so busy sucking up to their R sponsors. Sorry I try to avoid saying this but NPR habitually talks up the bad faction and says nothing about the other side. Hello NPR: There are lies. There are facts. Do your job. Watering everything down is insulting and wastes our time.

    Any teen who has experienced rape or attempted rape knows how it feels to be alone. Blaming oneself for not understanding how it happened. Feeling violated, naive and unable to articulate, tell family. The boy may seem a paragon of virtue to others, your friends, peers. We tend to keep shtum and hope it will fade away. But the woman Kavanaugh tried to rape with his hand over her mouth when she was a teenager still lives with the terror and is still afraid to come forward. Serious damage. What can we do to help her speak up?

      The church bombing was the third in Birmingham in 11 days after a federal order came down to integrate Alabama’s school system. Fifteen sticks of dynamite were planted in the church basement, underneath what turned out to be the girls’ restroom. The bomb detonated at 10:19 a.m., killing Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Addie Mae Collins–all 14 years old–and 11-year-old Denise McNair. Immediately after the blast, church members wandered dazed and bloodied, covered with white powder and broken stained glass, before starting to dig in the rubble to search for survivors. More than 20 other members of the congregation were injured in the blast.

      And, recommend everyone read the full article:

      “BOSTON — The first page of Seth Klarman’s most recent 25-page investor letter does not inspire confidence. There are quotes about truth and justice from George Orwell, Reinhold Niebuhr and Mark Twain. But the kicker is a line from Ramsay Bolton, a character from “Game of Thrones”: “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”

      Mr. Klarman is not the kind of guy given to hyperbole. He reads at least a book a week. He lives in Boston. He rarely gives interviews.

      It’s not because people aren’t interested in what he has to say.

      The 61-year-old, who has $30 billion under management at Baupost Group and is estimated by Forbes to be worth $1.5 billion, is compared regularly with Warren Buffett. Paul Singer, one of the most influential hedge fund managers in the country, told me that if he was going to invest in any fund other than the one he himself manages, “the only one would be Seth’s.” Used copies of a book about investing that Mr. Klarman wrote in 1991 go for more than $650 on Amazon.”
