These homes will be destroyed. There is nothing from keeping a hurricane from destroying these homes then the water surge that will flood the area. I see these homes on HGTV of beach homes going for $400k which is affordable. Now I know why.

I love the sweet message of our FLOTUS. When you finish writing a book, it’s exhilaration. Then a little bit of fear creeps in because you’re not sure how it will be received. I know our FLOTUS will be honest and true to herself and it will be a breath of fresh air. I’m so excited for her and for us!!

Very much looking forward to reading the last REAL @FLOTUS’s book. Interesting that she begins her book tour 7 days after an election that, without any doubt, is the most consequential since the initial election of Washington, and the subsequent election of Lincoln.

On Tuesday, Senator Merkely uncovered $10 million being transferred from FEMA to ICE for the internment camps.
Last night, it was up to $29 million.

Document shows DHS transferring $29M from Coast Guard to ICE

Rachel Maddow reports on a DHS document from Senator Merkley that shows nearly $10 million dollars being transferred from FEMA’s budget to fund ICE detentions, and $29 million being taken from the Coast Guard, ahead of the 2018 hurricane season. Moira Whelan, a former DHS official, joins to discuss how FEMA budgets its money.

  44. September 13, 2018 at 12:05 pm

    Yesterday GOP Kasich said this:
“When you’re the president of the United States, people look to you as a father, they look at you as somebody who’s a consoler, they look at you as somebody that can bring harmony, they look at you as somebody that can bring peace. … The sense is that our president is a special person who’s not supposed to engage in name-calling or fighting or chaos all the time. That president is supposed to be somebody that is a healer and brings the country together. This is one of the reasons why I had never supported the guy. You know, one of the few in my party that didn’t support him, because I believe people need to be lifted. I don’t believe that people need to be divided and all the name calling and all that is just wrong and it continues. There’s going to be Republicans who are going to pay a price for it. If they want to do better, then these individual Republicans need to start being their own man or woman, their own person, and talking about the things they believe in and knock it off, and don’t be afraid. If the president does something they don’t like, tell people!”

    • September 13, 2018 at 12:13 pm

Kasich was one of those new 2011 Republican governors like Walker, Scott, Christie, Snyder who did their very worst instead of their best, when we were trying to recover from a 2nd Depression. (e.g. They fired one million federal workers instead of increasing their number as previous modern presidents have done in recessions.) imo it was a radical turning moment for inequality and for the gop architects.

    • September 13, 2018 at 12:42 pm

We know KOCH has paved Scott Walker’s way since he sold computers. They are behind all the grossities. And we know their Oil ties to Russia go back with their father to the 1930’s. So how long has Russia been involved in our elections? Norquist has obliged GOP officials to sign Anti-Tax pledges ever since Reagan gave him the job. Koch apparently enforces hundreds of pledges. All of this is connected. Putin goes back to the 1980’s with Trump. How long has Putin been calling the shots?

Exactly names, ages, photos just like obituaries. I spoke to someone recently that have family in PR and she said everything was back to normal except for the rural areas that rarely had electricity in the first place. I wish the media would truly investigate this for the American people so we know the truth. Why in the hell did water sit at an airport ALL this time? I know the FEMA head does not give a shit but what about the Governor and the local politicians? Who has access to this airport? We only get bits and pieces of a story from PR.

I wouldn’t trust THIS administration because they are doing things “other” administrations have never done before. ICE is out of control they answer to no one! Plus who is to stop the white people who feel entitled that will video Hispanics and call ICE not knowing these people status.

      • September 13, 2018 at 3:16 pm

And PBO was reducing the use of private prisons.
ICE aren’t just unqualified (and some are white supremacists) employees “enforcing the law”: They’re enforcing Trump’s version of the law.
Brennan Center for Justice: “private prisons are not covered by the same freedom of information and open records laws as are other government functions, making it difficult for the public to learn the most basic information about what life is like behind its doors.”
And yet they’re taxpayer funded and go into the coffers of Trump donors. The word ‘scam’ shivers at the fkn barbarism and corruption.

I’m guessing he’s taking a plea without cooperation just to avoid the trial and expecting a pardon.

        • September 13, 2018 at 6:20 pm

Respectfully, that would be quite contrary to Robert Mueller’s ‘mo.’ He has no reason to enable Manafort to think that Trump will survive long enough to pardon him.

          • September 13, 2018 at 6:53 pm

I surely hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t see him cooperating. For me, it remains to be seen what he’s exactly pleading to and on that score, Mueller isn’t about to soften the blow.

As far as we know, Mueller was running down Manafort’s ties to Russians:
Work he did for Ukraine/Yanukovych and work done for Deripaska.
            Contacts with Kilimnik.
Whether these ties amounted to a motive to coordinate, given plenty of evidence of surreptitious communications and meetings.
What was discovered following the money trail.

            There are 7 counts
lying to the FBI, money laundering and foreign lobbying.
2 counts Conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to launder money
3 counts Unregistered agent of a foreign principal, false and misleading FARA statements, false statements
2 counts Obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice (witness tampering re Konstantin Kilimnik, who has also been charged)

He has yet to be sentenced for the verdicts in VA and Mueller has gotten more time to decide whether to file again for the remaining 10 counts that were remaining from the hung jury.

We’ll know a lot more tomorrow!!
