    okay, this is a titbit about the OH12 Special Election tomorrow;

    …. most people in my network know that I am the motivator for grassroots involvement and voting (as many refer to me as “The Obama Girl” ….truth be told, I am ancient);

    … I have been badgering people to vote in OH12 (it was gerrymandered largely out of our district OH3);

    …. we have had early voting that ended tonight;

    …. the last few days, I have been getting calls and text messages from people who tell me that they were so eager to vote that they did not believe they were NOT part of OH12’s Special Election;

    … these voters only believed that they were not eligible to vote in this congressional district AFTER they actually showed up to cast their vote at the early voting station.

    the bottom line is that people are pissed and are ready to vote … no matter what happens in OH12 tomorrow, people are determined to be heard!!!

      I was just thinking about how the Republican party members have changed over the centuries. First the Republican party seemed to be the party of reason, for the people, all people. Then the civil war and Abraham Lincoln felt it was important to save all of American by keeping the union against the Southern Democrats who wanted to hold on to slavery. When the Confederates lost and the slaves were “freed”, many African Americans became Republicans and everyone looked to the Republican party as the party for America. White racists clung to the Democratic party as the party of hate, racism, and Jim Crow. Then there was a sea change when the Democratic party under FDR became the party of the people, for the common man. FDR ushered in the New Deal, Social Security, Unions, saved us during WWII, etc. Many people abandoned the isolationist and corporatist Republican party and jump ship to the Democrats. Whites and minorities saw the Democratic party as the party for the working man and savior of the poor. Then LBJ went and did Civil Rights, Voting Rights Act., etc. Then the white Dixie-crats jumped ship and went to the Republican party. African Americans saw that the Democratic Party was the party of civil rights, voting rights, education, and prosperity so they became Democrats.

      I believe we are in for another sea-change. People are voting Democratic because they see the Republican party as the party of hate, racism, fascism and authoritarian. They are the party for the wealthy. Many young people are registering Independent which is fine as long as there are open primaries. Fewer people are identifying with the Republican party and more people are identifying with the Democratic party or feel they are better at governing the country. I hope to see a huge Blue Wave this November that turns into a full Tsunami in the coming decades. I pray our country can turn this nightmare around before it is too late. If only 25% of the electorate sees this orange satan as doing good, then we have a fighting chance. I am glad that women, minorities, young people are running for office in local elections as well as statewide. We need the local level to change in order to keep the blue wave going. I want to see MORE secretary of states as Democrats or Independents, fewer as Republicans. It is the only way to guarantee fair elections and ones that can’t be tampered with by foreign nations. Now that the Russians have done it, China, NK, and other rouge nations know the formula to hack our elections.

    See,

    I can say, without hesitation, that President Hillary Clinton wouldn’t have allowed this shyt.

    ………………………..

    One of the most dangerous construction-related carcinogens is now legally allowed back into U.S. manufacturing under a new rule by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). On June 1, the EPA authorized a “SNUR” (Significant New Use Rule) which allows new products containing asbestos to be created on a case-by-case basis.

    According to environmental advocates, this new rule gives chemical companies the upper hand in creating new uses for such harmful products in the United States. In May, the EPA released a report detailing its new framework for evaluating the risk of its top prioritized substances. The report states that the agency will no longer consider the effect or presence of substances in the air, ground, or water in its risk assessments.

    And, don’t forget about the unaccounted for funds from the Inauguration. …in the ballpark of 50 million.

    ………………………………………

    Trump raised $135M at 29 fundraisers. But nearly half the events were for himself
    August 07, 2018 05:00 AM

    President Donald Trump has headlined 29 fundraisers since he was sworn into office, raising at least $135 million — but unlike the five previous presidents, nearly half of the events benefited himself, instead of just his party or candidates, according to an analysis by McClatchy.

    Trump is the first U.S. president since at least the 1970s to raise money for his own re-election campaign during the first two years of his term when the political world’s attention is usually focused on midterm elections for Congress. And Trump has held the fewest total fundraisers at this point in his term since Jimmy Carter, according to records of presidential fundraising compiled by Brendan J. Doherty, a political science professor at the U.S. Naval Academy.

    That’s a sign he’s more focused on himself and less tied to his party 18 months into presidency.

    ACTION ALERT: TELL THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE THAT THE CITIZENSHIP QUESTION IN THE 2020 CENSUS MUST GO
    Help us flood the Department of Commerce’s comment form with feedback on the proposed 2020 Census citizenship question.

    The U.S. Department of Commerce wants to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

    It serves no useful purpose. In fact, it will skew the data by depressing response rates — while increasing the cost to taxpayers. Plus, it will trigger further mistrust in immigrant communities already living in fear because of President Trump’s xenophobic rhetoric and aggressive enforcement actions.

    This is simply a bad idea – one driven by the Trump administration’s anti-immigrant agenda.

    The Census is important because it will be used to apportion U.S. representatives among the states. We need every person counted.

    Please help us send a strong message of public opposition this harmful proposal. Right now, the Department of Commerce is accepting public comments.

      Well that would include a lot of white people who come here too. I don’t know how he can legally prevent people from becoming a citizen if they PAY for health insurance as a legal resident, whether it’s Obamacare or not? If they are here legally and take advantage of programs open to all citizens that is not illegal. What a dumb ass. Anything to stop the browning of America….It’s too late.
