“Trump’s “breakout year” was 1987 when he visited Moscow…He stayed at the National Hotel, in the Lenin Suite, which certainly would’ve been bugged…Soviet officials eager for him to build a hotel there. Throughout his career, Trump has always felt comfortable operating at or beyond the ethical boundaries that constrain typical businesses. In the 1980s, he worked with La Cosa Nostra, which controlled the New York cement trade, and later employed Michael Cohen and Felix Sater, both of whom have links to the Russian Mafia. Trump habitually refused to pay his counterparties, and if the people he burned (or any journalists) got in his way, he bullied them with threats. Trump also reportedly circulated at parties for wealthy men featuring cocaine and underage girls.”

There’s nothing entertaining about Trump picking another SCOTUS Justice who will take away reproductive, voting and other rights crucial to the majority of Americans. This is not a joke.

Well here we are. Just where we knew we could be. Sigh. So what do we do. WE FIGHT! We take strength from the fact that we fight a righteous fight. Each of us in our own way has to decide how we will resist. But resisit we must. For me. It is to register new voters. Then to make sure they get to the polls. To participate in postcards to voters. Phone banking and othet activities to expand the democratic electorate. To donate just a lil more to those organizations on the front line. And to try to give a bit of kindness to those i meet. Each of us must find a way to be their own resister.

  32. July 10, 2018 at 7:59 am

There are a series of podcasts being done by jon favereau about the democratic party. He calls it “Wilderness”.. i resent the title. During this series he talks to a variety of different people about the mistakes that have been made. About where we should go and how we should get there. I believe the dems are not in a wilderness. I believe that by not having a reckoning about Sanders and the 3rd party vote and to not address the racism, white supremacy, privilege and misogyny within the dem party that they will not see that the true base of the dem party is the obama coalition. POC, women, youth. I am not sure what he hopes to accomplish with this series. I did listen to the teaser.i would like a lil discussion about this if we can. I will post the link to the teaser.

    • July 10, 2018 at 8:17 am

I started listening to the teaser and the second I heard Trump’s voice, I just stopped and skipped the rest. I just cannot stomach it no matter where it’s going. I’ll wait to see how it shapes up but I have very strong boundaries these days about what I’m willing to consume. I respect their intentions but I’m not here for anymore games, like with Ocasio-Cortez promoting Saint Bernie a couple of days ago.

although this is Trump’s doing…none of this would be possible if the Congress was holding him accountable…this would have stopped awhile ago….this is why they are moving with such swiftness to fill the courts and to safeguard Trump on SCOTUS…because they see the Possible Tsunami coming…however it is up to us to make sure that it does….it will not happen on its own..

#BeNOTAfraid…. The struggle continues and ours is a righteous fight….

Any Democrat who votes for Kavanaugh needs to be kicked out of the party. Republicans were set to obstruct anything a President Hillary Clinton did. Our party needs to vote in lockstep against Trump’s judicial nominees on principle.

In secret recording, GOP candidate made candid comments about party primaries
    07/10/18 10:40 AM
    By Steve Benen

And what a recording it is. We learned a month ago, for example, that Cagle admitted to Tippins that he deliberately supported “bad public policy” as part of a scheme to hurt a different rival candidate. Yesterday, a new revelation from the recording emerged, and this one may be even more politically damaging.

Cagle can be heard candidly discussing the GOP primary’s sharp turn to the right, saying the five-man race came down to “who had the biggest gun, who had the biggest truck and who could be the craziest.” […]

“The issues you talk about are the issues I care about as well. The problem is in a primary – and you and I are just talking off the record, frank – they don’t give a (expletive) about those things, OK. In the general election, they care about it, OK. But they don’t care about it in a primary.” Cagle says in the newly released snippet.
