Well here we are. Just where we knew we could be. Sigh. So what do we do. WE FIGHT! We take strength from the fact that we fight a righteous fight. Each of us in our own way has to decide how we will resist. But resisit we must. For me. It is to register new voters. Then to make sure they get to the polls. To participate in postcards to voters. Phone banking and othet activities to expand the democratic electorate. To donate just a lil more to those organizations on the front line. And to try to give a bit of kindness to those i meet. Each of us must find a way to be their own resister.
There are a series of podcasts being done by jon favereau about the democratic party. He calls it “Wilderness”.. i resent the title. During this series he talks to a variety of different people about the mistakes that have been made. About where we should go and how we should get there. I believe the dems are not in a wilderness. I believe that by not having a reckoning about Sanders and the 3rd party vote and to not address the racism, white supremacy, privilege and misogyny within the dem party that they will not see that the true base of the dem party is the obama coalition. POC, women, youth. I am not sure what he hopes to accomplish with this series. I did listen to the teaser.i would like a lil discussion about this if we can. I will post the link to the teaser.
I started listening to the teaser and the second I heard Trump’s voice, I just stopped and skipped the rest. I just cannot stomach it no matter where it’s going. I’ll wait to see how it shapes up but I have very strong boundaries these days about what I’m willing to consume. I respect their intentions but I’m not here for anymore games, like with Ocasio-Cortez promoting Saint Bernie a couple of days ago.
