      -smallish rant:
The enzyme taurine for the fast growing human brain is ONLY found in human breast milk. The first milk colostrum immunizes the newborn against a multitude of serious sicknesses later in life. It protects against diarrhea, bacterial meningitis, gastroenteritis, ear infection, respiratory infection, the right amount of nutrients for brain and nerve development. Less known is that Mom’s milk is finely tuned to each individual newborn and growing child. Her body and breast milk create the antibodies needed to fight baby’s colds and flus. Lots of touching and skin to skin creates a healthy relationship and lifelong security – and peaceful baby sleep. There is no substitute for breastmilk. I was bottle-fed (by whoever) after 4 months with health and weight gain of grave concern. Allergies to soy and milk proteins and whey, are well known. One of my children was allergic to all grain and dairy. (Nestle was boycotted starting in 1977 for pushing their product on African women whose babies’ bodies could not digest it and died. We need lactase to process lactose and many humans don’t have it.
Frequent and exclusive breastfeeding also delays the return of fertility and helps with spacing births.

    • July 8, 2018 at 3:40 pm

And after seeing a lot of babies: Can tell you from many obvious clues the baby in the photo is breastfed.

“each of us must organize and do what we can to vote and to bring new voters out to vote in November”

Sheila, you are so right, we must take control of our own destination. President Obama was right when he said “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for.” We proved it in 2008, and its imperative that we prove it again this November.

He also said that he does not have the temperament for it. He likes being out and about freely talking with people, going places and having adventures. He is interested in young people and new ideas, not the staid life of the court. People need to leave Barack Obama alone to live his life as he chooses. It is beyond presumptuous and condescending for people to keep trying to tell him what he should be doing with his life. He owes us nothing.

  17. July 8, 2018 at 2:22 pm

Hello Republican women! Do you breastfeed? Not Trump’s fucking beeswax.
But mostly this is about corporate greed and appeasing Trump donors. In Europe women today openly nurse their babies, toddler and children while walking about shopping and socializing. The breast is accepted and not a big deal for enlightened citizens. The average age of nursing chilren around the world is four years old. Hominids have been successfully nursing their offspring for seven MILLION years. Mammals appeared around the dinosaur (eggs) period and have been successfully nursing their children ever since.

The billionaire donors have called in their loans and the republicans are paying them back for funding their rise in power. Does not matter if millions of lives are being destroyed in hundreds of ways and that the country has become a third world laughing stock. The greedy 1% will find that in the long run that they will not want to live in the kind of country they are creating.

A response to the whiners about how the left is being ‘ mean ‘ to the Dolt45 folks.

    ……………………..

Why does the far left have so much trouble speaking courteously with, and debating hot political topics, with the far right?
    Chris Joosse

    ……….

    Oh, it’s courtesy you want?

    Now?

It’s a bit late for that. Not only has the far right engaged in and valorized disrespectful political discourse for many years, it has of late openly called for political violence, to the roar of cheering crowds. It has also not just embraced Nazis, it has nominated them to represent its party. It has howled at imagined disrespect when a football player takes a knee, after having engaged in the better part of a decade’s worth of promoting false and odious claims about a president it loathed. If you wanted courtesy, the bridge at your back is still on fire, much of it still glowing white-hot.

    ………..

[I]t was never about ‘civility’, and it’s not now.

Instead, you’re demanding consent, for behavior your critics don’t want to consent to. You’re demanding silence in the face of what others see as objectionable behavior. You want your agenda to see no pushback, no protest, no objections. Tacit endorsement. Validation.

Well, you’re not going to get any of those things. What you’re getting, instead, is the same sort of behavior you’ve engaged in for the better part of a decade. You’re now going to reap the whirlwind. You’ve taught liberals that silence means consent, and you withheld yours (and your civility) for years. Welcome to the new normal, now that liberals have decided to stop turning the other cheek and to emulate your own behaviors.

Part of the problem is that nobody really knows how to interpret what Brexit really means in a way that is suitable for their future to accommodate and satisfy all the complexities. They voted for something that is quite impossible.

          • July 9, 2018 at 1:57 pm

            wow…..

President Obama cautioned them not to take the bait….there in Britain and here in America….not enough folks listened…and here we are on the precipice of something really bad…

      • July 9, 2018 at 10:43 am

May is finalizing Brexit plans and from what I gather, Leave members of her cabinet are in revolt at how she’s handling it. Seems she’s not being tough enough on the EU? It’s a real mess, hard to sort out and I haven’t been following too closely. But losing members of your cabinet one after another is not a good sign.

I wondered about that. Did the people who voted for it truly understand what it was going to do. Same here in the States. I know many of my friends who voted for Trump are appalled by the baby kidnapping. They keep talking about legal and all. The future is scary but we must remain strong and continue the fight.

    What the ever loving hell????

    https://www.buzzfeed.com/tariniparti/trump-air-force-one-mar-a-lago-tour?utm_term=.bd5jwGkR2#.spLxBXZRr

Some members of President Donald Trump’s exclusive Florida clubs appear to have been invited to an Air Force One tour last year, according to an invitation obtained by BuzzFeed News which was cross-checked with records received through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Members would not confirm or deny that they actually attended, but the invitations would raise more questions about the blurry line between Trump’s administration and his family’s private businesses. Although past administrations have given Air Force One tours to friends, family, and even donors, in this case those attending would have paid Trump’s exclusive clubs thousands of dollars annually.

Two separate tours were scheduled at the Atlantic Aviation FBO at Palm Beach International for 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2017 — hours before Trump held his first 2020 campaign rally less than 120 miles away at the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport hangar.

The two tours are recorded differently compared to all other Air Force One tours given in the 14 months after Trump took office, according to redacted government records provided to BuzzFeed News. Unlike the other records, they don’t list an agency name or title of the official in charge of the tour. The listed date for the tours matches up with the date and time listed on the invitation.

At least 14 people were scheduled to take those two tours. Although the names of the individuals are redacted, partially unredacted email addresses show eight of those people were affiliated with Arrigo Automotive Group, a family-owned car dealership in the West Palm Beach area.

This is just like an episode of the “Twilight Zone” called “To serve Man,” in which aliens land on earth with a book that shows the earthlings technological and agricultural advancements, all for the small price of some of the earth’s citizens returning to the alien’s planet as part of an exchange program. Unbeknownst to all the book is really a cook book detailing how to cook earthlings. One morning we are going to wake up pledging allegiance to the Russian flag.

Miami grandma targeted as U.S. takes aim at naturalized immigrants with prior offenses
    BY ADIEL KAPLAN

Updated 1 hour 28 minutes ago

The United States government has long reserved its power to revoke citizenship for the rarest of cases, going after the likes of war criminals, child rapists and terrorist funders.

Norma Borgono is none of those. The 63-year-old secretary who immigrated from Peru in 1989 volunteers weekly at church, raised two children on a $500-a-week salary and suffers from a rare kidney disorder. But a week after her baby granddaughter came home from the hospital, Borgono received a letter from the U.S. government: The Department of Justice was suing to “denaturalize” her as part of an unprecedented push by the Trump administration to revoke citizenship from people who committed criminal offenses before they became citizens.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen if she goes to Peru,” said her daughter, Urpi Ríos. “We have nothing there.”

Dr. Gabor Maté (“In The Realm of Hungry Guests”) is an astounding specialist in the study and treatment of addiction and trauma…someone I once knew and is to be reckoned with…said about Trump:
“Narcissistic obsession with the self then compensates for a lack of nurturing care. Grandiosity covers a deeply negative sense of self-worth. Bullying hides an unconscious conviction of weakness…As far as I can recall, Trump’s father was a domineering personality type, a rageaholic who demeaned his children mercilessly. Within that family, Trump’s mother was not able to protect her kids and the trauma must have been extensive. An obvious result of this trauma is that one of Trump’s brothers drank himself to death. From all indicators, the Trumps were a traumatized and traumatizing family. Trump very famously once said that the world is a horrible place; that’s the perspective of a child that experienced horror and trauma while growing up.”
-So now the raging Donald Trump is traumatizing the rest of us here while creating Dystopia and Chaos in the world.
-Fallout is merciless on babies and little one
