I hope all enjoy the weekend and celebrate those having lost their lives in service to our nation. Simplistic wish that is hard to write in this divided scary time. In order to remain sane I spent all of yesterday working in my garden alongside my peonies that are just starting to bloom, my snowball bush still in bloom and my beautiful fragrant roses.

My hope comes and goes in waves. The on again Korean Summit worries me that Trump will gain legitimacy regardless of his crimes. My wish is that besides being taken out of office all of his executive orders will be rescinded once it is judicially revealed his presidency was stolen.

… I think that the way that our president and many people around him have not only mainstreamed hate, but mainlined it, is so deeply dangerous,” she said, before citing reports of children using Trump’s words to bully other children.

… Clinton also called for British people to protest when Trump visits the country in July, saying she would do so “because I don’t agree with what he’s doing to degrade what it means to be an American.” …

EXACTLY! “Funny” to hear him lecturing others about standing up to this fraud president, all the while voting in lockstep. Vote them ALL the hell out!

On the Trump “meeting” magically restored:
North and South Korea are doing this on their own. It started at the Olympics.
Trump just wanted to bomb, maim. Then he made a coin giving NK a free pass. Trump can try to change the subject from the 1500
children insisted on tearing from the arms of parents on his own soil. Let’s keep it real. The Dicktraitor has zero to do with making peace.
Sociopaths and psychopaths feel no remorse. KOCHs and Trump will never ever be immortal. Shame.

Barack Obama is my North Star leader. I think all the time about his emphasis on respecting, empowering and including. It shapes everything I do now. Michelle Obama is my heart, my support, my sister soul mate, my greater family. Everything I read that she has said goes to my inner most being and inspires me, encourages me, informs my everyday existence. God bless you, Nerdy, for bringing both these souls and the rest of us grateful Obamabots together every day. I cherish this place in a way I cannot describe sufficiently.

I want the details about the children that TRUMP ICE have abducted:
The deaths, the assaults, the pregnancies, the illnesses, the isolations. I want it all. Where are the inspectors’ reports?
Reporters. Wire tappings. Do the children call their parents? If not why not? Get the cameras in there!
The American people are not taking the rap for Trump’s crimes against humanity. This is on him.
      Lock him up.

The Hayes interview shows that what TRUMP ICE are doing is Unprecedented and NOT lawful.
You have a 53 week old baby on his own at his Court Hearing.
So fucking corporations are people – but apparently not human infants, toddlers and children abducted from their mothers.
-A woman comes for Asylum with her baby for due process LEGALLY – and the baby is taken from her.
-Sometimes the Mother is not told where her baby or infant is for months.
Who doesn’t know that rauma, neglect and death are possible outcomes?
Hey Trump stick your boy in one of these facilities and let’s see his mental condition after one week.

Back and reading the posts. Lawrence Tribe’s fears worry me too. Seven more years of Trump at my age is a very discouraging thought. Besides promoting hate and fear they would be taking over the judicial branch in perpetuity. America would not be able to survive Trump let alone be the America we love. I keep hoping for a sea change at election time.

If a President commutes a sentence…how can it be overturned and how often has this happened..

    • 73 Don
      May 28, 2018 at 9:03 am

Pardons forgive the defendant for the crime, while commutation only reduces the sentence.

      • 74 Don
        May 28, 2018 at 9:07 am

But still, they are going out of there way to send this brother back to prison to finish his sentence after he has his sentence commuted by President Obama. There seems to be a lot of legal maneuvering going on just to send this guy back to prison.

        • 75 Don
          May 28, 2018 at 9:08 am

In normal times when a President pardons or commutes a sentence it stands, but since these are not normal times anything goes I guess.

          • May 28, 2018 at 10:36 am

I am thinking that because his sentence was commuted by Pres Obama…that is just part of undoing the good that Pres Obama did….TRAGIC

            • May 28, 2018 at 11:04 am

My understanding of the story is that President Obama changed the sentencing guidelines in general for that type of offense, not that this particular man’s sentence was commuted or that he was pardoned. STILL a cruel and horrific turn of events for this man and his family, though. It’s a sick system when he’s turned his life around and was hoping to contribute to society. Unimaginable cruelty.

              • May 28, 2018 at 11:06 am

Also, PBO had the expertise and support of Eric Holder, who knew and clearly understood the inequities of sentencing and criminal justice. JEFF SESSIONS does not.

      • May 28, 2018 at 10:01 am

yes i know…but i thought that if the President commuted the sentence it was sacrosanct…just like the pardon

          May 28, 2018 at 11:03 am

That’s what I thought as well, I thought the President’s action on this type of situation was the final say.

Had no idea of her family connections. I do know she’s not helping the NYT with readership efforts. I “took her down” in the last day or so on twitter about not using the lie word, which was really starting to bug me (she had herself so contorted so she wouldn’t use it, she could have joined the circus). Then two trump bottom feeders came after me to “show proof” that trump lied. Hey, if you’re that brainwashed, little trump people, I have no time for you. There are DEMOCRATS to get elected.

I think I understand why people sometimes get out of a fight, and it was everything to do with mental preservation. Sometimes people need to quiet themselves for a moment so they can regroup and recharge, but still carry on the fight but from a different position. Getting into the fight is not for everyone, sometimes I’ve questioned those around me about why they didn’t get into a particular fight we were engaged in. I can no longer question people about why they don’t get into a fight. Fighting is mentally tough and it can consume you, it can have you seeing enemies where none exist. I’m just thinking out loud, and I might not be making any sort of sense so just bear with me while I mentally work some things out.

    Good Morning All!
This morning my Mom is in the hospital after her blood pressure shot up like crazy and she experienced a lot of chest and abdominal pain. She’s stable now, thankfully, and undergoing tests. I know she’s in good hands though. She’s being treated by the same wonderful nurses and doctors who saved and cared for me last year. Lots of extra tight hugs going on today.

  51. May 28, 2018 at 11:28 am

IMO on the Culture of Cruelty (consumed w/tongues hanging out):
Before leaving again may I say something about the You’re Fired! culture we’ve embraced via ‘American Idol’, ‘Voice’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’,
‘Bachelor’, ‘Lost’ survivor (or whatever it is) etc. The most terrible I’ve seen is the ‘Top Chef for Kids’. The sight of 2 little sisters clinging to each
other and sobbing as the Judge chooses which one will survive, and the other kicked off the show, will stay with me for a long time.
The American people spectate from their armchairs fears and anxieties of participants & then watch how they react when they get the chop.
Compete…then get cut in front of millions. I see this as a precursor to something even more sinister.
Today Trump’s thuggery is making children’s lives expendable via SS-style ICE who watch Moms and babies scream with terror as they are forcibly separated, futures unknown. We know young mammals rely on their parents to survive and are too young to tell what happens when they’re left alone with others.
Here’s what I think: One day when we’re deemed fully compromised it will be “Who Will Live And Who Will Die –VOTE.”
The wealthy will take most of the limited resources and make the rest of us compete to live. Yes more Hunger games. I also see people warehoused wearing virtual reality gizmos for most of their lives. Almost wrote a play decades ago about such concepts. imho:
As long as we embrace Compete-To-Survive media we’re paving the way for unimaginable cruelty in a world designed for plutocrats like
    KOCH/Putin. Thanks 4 listening. love.

And here I thought these types of trash shows were easy money for networks. Your thoughts make so much sense but are far more sinister….I fear for us if we don’t pull our heads out soon

    • May 28, 2018 at 1:11 pm

Well said and a real probability when so many are attracted to non-reality as entertainment….even as education. Sad for humanity !

      • May 28, 2018 at 2:16 pm

No not sad because we can stop it. Not inevitable if we let ourselves see/educate. Not hard to see. Right now you have Sinclair repeating the same right wing propaganda and replacing local news with “national news”. And you have Trump using his platform on “Happy” Memorial Day to say that the person investigating him is “hurting our beautiful young people”: Because HE is the person responsible for losing track of who knows how many beautiful children for no legal reason -and some of them to sex trafficking.
Reverse pointing will only get him so far. We can stop his KOCH/Putin b-s. And we will.
