I look forward to Fridays when it comes to this administration for the simple reason that the weekend offers a reprieve from the corruption that this administration engages in on a daily basis. Kinda like, banks don’t get robbed on the weekend.
I just discovered I’m blocked by Cindy McCain… now to be honest that doesn’t exactly bother me, but I’ve never tweeted her so I’m curious how I can be blocked by her.
That’s strange, probably you might have liked something that she was opposed to. Six degrees of separation or something like that. I take it as a badge of honor to be blocked by someone. It’s like my wife follows me on Facebook, but I don’t follow her, but she sends me stuff on Facebook anyway that she wants me to read. And I’m like, do I have to read it, and then I put on a big show about having to read it. And if I do read it, she gives me a test on it. Life is filled with battles that you sign up for and that you don’t sign up for. But being married for twenty years I’ve learned that sometimes surrendering is not the same as losing. I think I’ve won every argument my wife and I have had for the last couple of years. And the reason I’ve won is because I’ve surrendered, and she doesn’t like when I surrender because she likes the engagement. She’s the aggressive one and I’m the passive one, and we all know that dealing with someone that is passive and can be mentally draining.
I’m sorry sherijr, sometimes I get into these zones when I’m writing and I write and first foolish thing that pops into my head. Sometimes I write with no rhyme or reason, these thoughts I have are just dying to come out, even if they make sense or not.
Black women of a certain age do not play and are never here for others’ bull shit. We need more like Auntie Maxine in Congress, in state houses and local offices.
Rep. Eric Swalwell talks about congressional Republicans insisting on being given access to elements of the investigation into Donald Trump against the wishes of the Department of Justice.
Matt Miller, former Department of Justice spokesman, discusses whether Republicans can coerce the DoJ to violate principle and release details of the ongoing investigation into Donald Trump, including the identity of a classified informant.
The Washington Post reports that money paid by AT&T to Michael Cohen was meant to help them gain approval for a multi-billion dollar merger with Time Warner.
Ari Melber shows how Republicans are taking full advantage of their control of Congress by trying to fill as many judicial vacancies as possible, in many cases with candidates of questionable values or experience.
Sherrilyn Ifill, NAACP Legal Defense Fund president and director-counsel, talks about how the Republican rush to fill the federal judge positions, many of which they slow walked under Barack Obama, means important vetting of candidates is not taking place even where extreme ideologies are apparent.
This is the most honest expression of the thinking behind the policy: a feeling – rather than facts – that immigrants don’t integrate when, in fact, the history of the country is immigrants integrating. https://t.co/K9cMnNK7Vl
What folks don't get is that it is color of the immigrants that is at the heart of this……White Supremacy and racism play a major role in these so-called "feelings"…as it does with most things in America…#FullStop!
How does a multi-billion dollar company like AT&T end up in bed with Michael Cohen covered in sleaze and god knows what else? This is AT&T we’re talking about, a conglomerate, a pillar in the world of business. How did they end up in bed with some guy that bought and sold taxi medallions in New York City? I’m almost positive that companies like AT&T employ people whose sole job it is, is to keep them from looking like fools. And I’m also positive that companies like AT&T set aside monies solely for the purposes of funding harebrained ideas that might pan out should the world turn upside down. But my question is how does AT&T not know that Michael Cohen is a fool without equal?
I’m puzzled over this, too. It’s doesn’t pass the smell test that they would do some due diligence on Cohen. It would be good to see a timeline of the pending AT&T/Time-Warner merger deal, Trump’s public remarks and their hook-up with Cohen. Maybe it will all add up.

The Republicon Presidents primarily host white military families. That is their M.O. but only minorities are “dividing” the country by mentioning unequal treatment.
All the WH bar-b-ques, Easters, 4th of July, Xmas, events hosted by Republicon Presidents you see a sea of white faces with one or two POC and they are always in the background. I think this is what White America hated about President Obama, too many Black, Brown, LGBT families, mixed in with White families. This is a future they could not tolerate.
This is HUGE! Michael Cohen and Donald Trump apparently were behind the release of information concerning the allegations against Eric Schneiderman, the AG who was forced to resign while investigating none other than Cohen and Trump! https://t.co/rO7y2T89Jg
I don’t understand WHY this Attorney would violate these women by telling these stories to Michael Cohn and Donald Trump? What is the connection with this Attorney, MC and Dotard?
If this Attorney talked out of school well then the Attorney would be in big trouble for violating Attorney client privilege I think. I don’t know if it applies here, I don’t know. But what is it with people willing to put their livelihood on the line for Trump?
I go over to the Orange site to see what they are saying about this. Apparently these women came to this Attorney and he told them that because Schniederman was a powerful man there case would go no where or the “elites” would tear them apart and talked these two woman out of going forward with a case. This slime ball contacted Trump and told him about what these women told him and then the attorney gets a call from Cohen to get all the details. This stinks bigly. This will be “Breaking News” all day. This attorney should lose his license to practice and be investigated.

I think some of the reasons why some of the journalists have their panties in a bunch about Avenatti is…

2. He approaches Dolt45 EXACTLY the way the MSM should have been all this time

They are mad because Avenatti is doing the job THEY should have been doing all along.
Today @CNN and @Axios are portraying Trump as a colossal, conquering world leader.
A "global man of action." "Racking up wins for his political base." (CNN). "Operates almost purely on gut instinct." "Shock and brawl strategy." "Isn't afraid to punch on foreign turf." (Axios).
You get the picture. @realDonaldTrump and his Cabinet are so rooted in the #CultureOfCorruption, it’s almost impossible to keep track of every newsworthy scandal. @CAPAction has you covered.
Dr King’s work is being taken up by Rev Barber….and it is not getting enough attention from the press….something tells me neither did Dr King…
For too long, we've accepted this moral narrative in America that has blamed poor people for their poverty and has pitted people against each other. This #PoorPeoplesCampaign is about challenging that narrative. https://t.co/NDqmf8oURi

Congressional gerrymandering in Ohio is responsible for two to three additional GOP seats in Congress. Ohio’s new gerrymandering reform measure could level the playing field in upcoming elections. https://t.co/0Kq6wUOSh8
As I think about the “mocking of John McCain” issue being debated endlessly in the last 24 hours, it strikes me as odd that this is really even a big story. Trump has said far worse about him, with zero consequences.
I respect John McCain’s service both in the military, and to the people of Arizona. I appreciate his attempting to swat down lies about Barack Obama during the 2008 town hall, and for his NO vote during the health care votes of last year…but….those shining moments do not erase the other things that I keep remembering about the man.
I’m old enough to remember him voting against the establishment of MLK day, “bomb, bomb Iran”, his negative ads about then Senator Obama, and just now I was thinking about the opposition to a possible Secretary of State Susan Rice. BENGHAZI !!
There are so so many, many issues there through the years.
I wish him a speedy recovery from his horrible diagnosis, but must we canonize him?
End of rant
I have very similar thoughts to yours. Totally against all of trump’s comments about him, and those of his staffer this week, but McCain is NOT saintly or perfect. Even before some of what you mentioned occurred, I’ll never forget the look on his face in a videotaped Senate hearing I saw once when a family member of a POW-MIA individual – who was part of a group promoting efforts to find out more information on their loved ones, still missing – dared to question McCain about something he said. He literally got up from his seat, pacing back and forth with the most hateful scowl on his face I think I’ve ever seen on anybody’s face. After I saw that, I wondered how he acted around his own family members. He tried to hide his demons from the general public, but he had ’em. Maybe if I’d been tortured in my life, I’d be just as imperfect as he seems, I will grant him that.
Agree with what you both are saying. McCain has a real deep mean streak. His arrogance sometimes got the better of him. The only reason he voted against the GOP health reform was because it wasn’t regular order. Then he went ahead and voted with his party on some of the damage. I disagree with his politics nearly every step of the way. And his daughter is just too sanctimonious for her own good.
I wish no harm to this family. But this ongoing drumbeat of lionizing his every minute isn’t quite the whole truth.
Can’t force myself to watch this … but I actually found the video of the hearing. Not sure if I recalled McCain’s actions right, but I’m going off to eat some chocolate and get myself calmed down! I found his badgering of this woman to be despicable.
I totally get why people are pissed about Trump’s minion mocking McCain, but can we please not pretend that this is their first visit to the sewer?! They literally have Nazis on staff, we aren’t anywhere near Kansas anymore, folks.
Let this serve as formal notice – there is significantly more evidence and facts to come relating to Mr. Cohen's dealings and Mr. Trump's knowledge and involvement. You can come clean now or wait to be outed. Your choice. We have only just begun…#Basta

This is shocking and deeply disturbing. Real question is whether and how America can come back from this self-imposed global exile. https://t.co/ihnhKalcgz
It’s more than an exile – it’s the realization that no-one can believe the word of the United States, no-one can sign an agreement without acknowledging it will last no longer than an administration. Never should any country now accept the word of the United States – it means nothing.

Apropos of nothing political, but I went to find a song to listen to before going offline, and remembered my life-long, all-time, favorite song ever (not sure why, but I probably first heard it on American Bandstand in the ’50s when my older sister would teach us how to “jitterbug” and it clicked). So did I 99ts. It was a pleasure then traveling outside the U.S. For once we got smiles instead of frowns or turned backs. It was such joy watching President Obama travel and interact with other leaders, and watching them come here to visit! Those eight years were such a blessed relief.
On a different subject, I sure do enjoy the Australian shows I can get on Acorntv!. Excellent…for instance, A Place to Call Home and 800 Words for two. Thanks for those great exports.

should say, “would not do some due diligence”
Surely their diligence showed that Michael Cohen had (and probably still has) the ear of the president*. And that is what it was all about.
