I just had to walk up the street to the bank and then the CVS to get my prescriptions filled. My office is less than a mile from the Capitol. Let me tell you all that the kids are here!!!!
I’ve never seen so many kids in DC at one time. I just met a family from Arkansas. The mother was in the CVS buying poster board and markers so they could make their signs tonight. Those kids from Marjorie Stoneman planned this March during Easter/Spring break. They knew exactly what they were doing…..
There is hope for our democracy and the kids will lead the way!!!
p.s. Looks like we are going to have clear skys in the 50’s tomorrow. A great day for a March on Washington.
Thanks for the update; so happy the weather has improved. I literally hoped and prayed that it would not be a deterrent in tomorrow’s march. Good to see you, Donna.
Thank you so much Donna Dem! What joy to know this personal moment and observation from you. LOVE it! Thank you and YES to your observation, kids leading the way and our democracy moving FORWARD!
Thank you for the pictures and films of President Obama’s trip to New Zealand. Takes me back to the good old days when we followed his every trip with great joy and anticipation. People the world over still revere and appreciate him. He is always so “in” the moment, and knows exactly how to respond.
Thanks Donna Dem 4 Obama – I was reading that ALL the speakers will be the kids/students who are impacted by the inaction of the so-called adults who are suppose to make laws to protect them but take the blood money from the NRA. For 8 years during the PBO administration and after GWB let the AR15 ban lapse while students/citizens were getting murdered at school, movie theatres, malls, etc., THEY DID NOTHING. When 6yr olds and their teachers were gunned down THEY DID NOTHING. When country western concert patrons were gunned down, NRA core group, THEY DID NOTHING. Unfortunately, these young adults said ENOUGH! YOU WILL DO SOMETHING! WE WILL NOT GO AWAY!
16-year-old Journey Jamison from the South Side of Chicago won’t be on stage at #MarchForOurLives on Saturday — but she’s fighting tirelessly to save victims of gun violence in her community.
This breaks my heart on so many levels. Our children should be getting ready for proms and graduation, not learning triage because there are no hospitals in the area, surviving in a war zone and having to take care of gun shot victims. This young lady is amazing. May Good keep and protect her and others like her.
Bolton doesn't need to be confirmed, but he does need to be cleared for Security Clearance…. @MalcolmNance said on @StephMillerShow this morning with @frangeladuo, that Bolton might be UNCLEARABLE. That means he might not be able to get into the building due to his
That would so funny if “Sheep-dog-Bolton” can’t get a security clearance and neither can any of this tee-vee lawyers. I guess Twitler won’t be firing Kelly or Mathis either until he can get replacements that can pass a security clearance first…..
New Marist poll: By 72% to 11% registered voters say Muller should be allowed to finish the investigation, not be fired. Republicans oppose firing Muller by 57% to 25%
PBS is NOT having it with Tavis Smiley. The answered his counter suit (he actually played the race card) with 32 pages of receipts and a demand for the return of 1.9 million that he had been paid. He was a low down sexual predator as well as a hypocrite and a hater. Another one who tried to make PBO’s life difficult has met karma, while our president is being feted by the world, looking good, getting those dollars, and becoming even more influential. Tavis will not even rate a footnote in history.

We voted out plastic shopping bags many, many years ago, voted in the excellently streamlined VoteByMail, paper ballots, 2008 was the last election at the voting booth, and today my Rep sent out the summary of the session just closed. There are trolls trying to throw off the hashtags for tomorrow, by doing hashtags like March4OurLives. We wanna make sure we are all on the same page. The main hashtag for tomorrow is #MarchForOurLives. Please use it liberally! Get it? Dad joke.✔️🇺🇸

what is your opinion about why the Black Lives Matter Movement did not make the connection to voting….there were activists who did register to vote and run of office in Ferguson …activists did gather in Chicago to write a manifesto called Campaign Zero which was groundbreaking…
I really don’t know. The only thing that can explain it is that the MSM just does not care to give the BLM movement the microphone. Hopefully this will change is every can unite now to move forward. I know it’s painful for many in the BLM to see this synergy now when so many have died without notice or action. But we have this opportunity now and really must seize it.
As I watch this rally and the speakers …the program has brought the black white and latino communities together as on……folks who will talk about the issues of all communities
Let me be very careful about what I’m about to say. Every movement that has ever started in the African American community that dealt with social injustice has always included a voting campaign as a part of the its platform. But when our people are shot down and left to die in the streets by the very same organizations that are sworn to serve and protect. Then it goes beyond having a simple get out to vote campaign, Immediately our first actions are to confront those organizations. You can have all the get out to vote campaigns that you want to, but if the system doesn’t value your life as it does other lives. Other actions have to be taken, to include voter registration drives. If that’s all it took to change a system was by voting, then some of our communities wouldn’t be in the shape that they are in as we speak. Black people have been voting faithfully since we first got to right to vote, but yet the system hasn’t rewarded that fact as fast and completely as it should have.
i know of what you speak…and i also know that America is not apt to embrace black youth….but i do find communities of color that do not vote and is unorganized get no service at all…it is not all that we must do…but it is a strategic tool that has to be fostered…
Case in point about the voting of A-A: we came out 94% for Hillary and white folks betrayed s with their votes as usual. Remember, A-A’s are still less than 14% of the population, a MINORITY. No matter what we do, we cannot get social justice and equality alone.
We must VOTE to get rid of Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, and every politicians who are more concern about the NRA then they are of the safety of these kids. Then start working on getting rid of Trump.
Michelle and I are so inspired by all the young people who made today’s marches happen. Keep at it. You’re leading us forward. Nothing can stand in the way of millions of voices calling for change.
My advice to Black girls everywhere: whenever you find yourself in a room where there aren't a lot of people who look like you — be it a classroom, or a boardroom, or a courtroom — remember that you have an entire community in that room with you, all of us cheering you on. pic.twitter.com/cFCV3pK2hH
Love, love, love the tie-in with voting. So different from the drumming and messing up the streets that Occupy Wall Street group did. Additionally, A-A volunteers registered voters in the theater lobbies during showings of Black Panther. The Obama generation is coming for the mofos at the ballot box.
With the indomitable José Andrés, who’s feeding marchers thousands of free ham sandwiches, apples and cups of coffee. He is no stranger to this kind of work: He fed millions of Puerto Ricans hot meals after their lives were upended by a hurricane pic.twitter.com/Qj57Yadd7z
He’s a fool. The marchers ARE children, many of whom have seen, experienced, been directly influenced by gun violence. He and those like them know that they have lost the argument and that their days are numbered.
Wonderful, amazing, brilliant young people. I heard every word and felt their power and their determination all the way over here in my kitchen. Kids from all over our country representing themselves & their communities and their RIGHTS with passion, heart, commitment and style.

“My name is Naomi and I’m 11 years old … I represent the African American women who are victims of gun violence, who are simply statistics instead of vibrant beautiful girls full of potential.”
How does this country that voted in that Monster deserve the youth that stood up today. As adults we should ALL be ashamed for what a “Shitty” world we are handing them to FIX! We tried to fix it by electing PBO but some of us sat at home (not the TOD) for the mid-terms and watched as the evil GOP took over and DID NOTHING to end gun violence at the LEAST!
I pledge to vote and support any of these smart, determined, young people who want to change the world for the better. IF WE FAIL THEM AGAIN, THEN WE DESERVE THE DESTRUCTION OF AMERICA.

Wow, I cried, got mad, cried some more and then, I became more hopeful.
Fantastic Young men and women.
I thank these Young Activists. They were GREAT!

There is a strong possibility that women and children will be the ones to bring down the deplorable, would-be autocrat’s administration and the do-nothing GOP majority congress.

WATCH: Emma Gonzalez names the murdered Parkland victims and observes several minutes of silence in a 6-minute, 20-second speech that covered the same time it took the gunman to kill 17 people in her high school:
We do have the power to create the world we wish. All of this was organized and executed, all over our country and others, in less than 2 months. Goodness! He’s gotten fat 😳
Is “Lyin’ Ted” eating more? I don’t recall him being quite this full-figured in the past.
I hope Beto O’Rourke can pull it off with the help of these new voters and some newly awakened adults!
