    GM

It is so disheartening to hear these MSM pundits talking about Pres Obama’s congratulating Puti in 2014 and comparing this to what Trump did. Also, talking about the reset and outreach PBO and his State Department undertook, it was with President Mededev ( and NOT Putin who was then Prime Minister, I think) and they were trying to reset with the new President to see if he would take a different approach.

When Putin came back, the Obama Administration tried to continue engagement in this way to see if they could get him to move in this direction and assist with Syria etc and act in that vein but it did not happen because he then invaded Crimea and Ukraine and hacked the election.

The PBO Administration reacted and took a different tack thereafter.

Some of the MSM need resfresher history courses or have another agenda.

    • 72 0388jojothecat
      March 21, 2018 at 4:30 pm

Yes, I found PBO did call and congratulate Putin on his win as the “new” president (I am sure PBO new these elections were B.S.) but he wanted to work with Putin on Syria, etc. Then when Putin pretty much said FU and invaded Crimea and his hostility towards Ukraine PBO imposed sanctions, after sanctions, and also got our ally Germany to do the same. Trump, nada he won’t say a bad word about Putin and only has to be forced to say something when Russia does something horrible like murder in the UK.

One of the greatest surprise for today was the arrival by mail a couple of days ago of ‘an Intimate Portrait’’ – many, many THANKS, GAIL!

Honestly TODobots, every bedroom in my home has a bookshelf as I tend to collect books, sometimes more than one copy of my favourites. Why? Well, decades ago I also developed the questionable habit of sometimes commenting in the margins of a book I’m reading. 🙄 No one else I know does this, but there are times when even though I know the accepted thing is not to write in a book, I can’t seem to help myself. I think of it as dialoguing with the author. 😉 😉

      • March 22, 2018 at 11:45 am

Remember way back when the web was a really interesting place? Then the ad men moved in and took over to monetize every last inch. What they introduced was a web full of columns of ads, pop-ups, floating and exploding ads, CONSTANTLY IN YOUR FACE advertising. This guy who worked at Netscape developed cookies and suddenly the monetizing thing became the personal data gathering thing. All the platforms wanted to know your shopping habits. And Karl Rove wanted to know your shopping and browsing habits and your religion and club memberships so he could figure out your voting habits. And here we are. Facebook took it over the edge by monetizing with very bad actors.

John Dowd, a personal attorney for President Trump handling the special counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, has resigned, according to two people familiar with the decision.

Dowd’s resignation came several days after Trump added Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney who was pushing an aggressive new strategy, to his team.
