Democrats, I am pleading with you: take the right message from your PA 18 win. (HINT: Run center-left candidates who speak respectfully to a wide group of voters, who are not purity-tested out of a primary, and have a platform besides TRUMP IS TOTALLY HITLER.)
Peter was wrong: Managers do not rise to the level of their incompetence, not in this Administration.

So full of pride and sadness for our young people. All over the country, our babies and our young adults are begging for their lives and vowing to do whatever they can to save themselves and the rest of us. I have seen so many creative, smart and original approaches that they are using to get hard-headed, greedy adults in positions of influence to listen to their pleas and their logic. I am also thankful to the adults who have supported their efforts. So heartbroken that all of this is necessary, but uplifted to see the ways in which our children are leading the way.

Illinois folks, remember….the youth only has to be 18 by General Election time in November. They can register and vote at 17. We have same day registration in Illinois.

Thanks Meta. Though I try to understand the red states bit, it’s a bit sad to me that reps/sens/candidates can’t be honest about their positions. Too much of this is positioning at a time when the country/world is in turmoil.
OMG, do I hear you. It’s so frustrating. But as I live through this current nightmare presidency, I’m struck by how very conservative and ridiculous half this country is. UGH.
A student from Copiague High School sent me this. To everyone else who was punished today for walking out, you have my respect. If you were suspended today because you walked out, dm me the name of your high school. pic.twitter.com/hkPeY79QyU

@HouseDems@SenateDems The students marching today are scared. They're scared and they're in pain. Listen to them. Do everything you can to help them. Honor their future. #NationalWalkoutDay
To the parents supporting their children walking out, thank you for raising this new generation of leaders.
To the parents who didn’t support their children who walked out anyway, thank you for raising this new generation of leaders. #NeverAgain#MarchForOurLives
Larry Kudlow, the man who Trump just appointed as his top economic advisor, was forced to resign from Bear Stearns in 1994 because of his frequent cocaine binges and alcohol problems.
In House Governmental Affairs Committee–the bill to cut hours of voting for Atlanta pushed through. Total time for discussion was a few minutes. No public comment.
Author didn't speak w/ or coordinate w/ DeKalb (which covers part of the City).
Why not hold voting on weekends? Why close schools just so folks can vote on a Tuesday? What is magic about Tuesdays? All voting Sat & Sun from 6am until 10 pm. #gapol
Simple: The only way Republicans win is with low voter turnout, hence their focus on voter suppression, gerrymandering and using election system technology that’s easily compromised and unauditable. #gapol#weseeyou@mikefarb1
And to add…their policies are unpopular aka…destroying medicare..medicaid…SS….Obamacare….they have to lie ..cheat…steal…and use all the isms in order to get their so-called base to vote for them….aka…Trump
Looks like he believed the Fix Was In for HIM, and it didn't go according to plan. Reminds me of when Karl Rove melted down in 2012 over Ohio, when Anonymous set up a firewall to prevent Rove's hack… https://t.co/H0Win8fPp1
Looks like Trump can fire Sessions but he won’t be able to hire someone to fire Mueller. Read her thread for the argument. I’m encouraged!!
So anyone Trump chooses to become Attorney General is by their very appointment required to recuse from all matters related to Mueller because of glaring conflict of interest? #OMGYES
As usual, @lawrence distills the point to its essence: Conor Lamb won in a PA district that was gerrymandered specifically so no Democrat could ever win. He won in a district so blatantly gerrymandered a court ordered it abolished, such that PA18 won't even exist come November.
In a school with a Potawatomi name, in a state named in a combination of Algonquian languages, white parents refuse to allow their children to even discuss the concept of "white privilege". Article has a link to a petition in support the kids/principal. https://t.co/bZkWlhjBQ8
Students in a 90% white school in rural Wisconsin wanted to have a discussion of race and privilege. Principal let them hold an assembly. He got fired, such assemblies got banned.
The folks in my mentions claiming that "white privilege" is a claim that all whites are evil could really use a primer on the concept. We should hold an assembly or something.
The movement these young people have started has the level of vitality and integrity, and the kind of honesty and commitment that will change this country. #NationalWalkoutDay
Martin Luther King was only 26 when he helped lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott. John Lewis was 21 when he went down to Mississippi as one of the original Freedom Riders. Diane Nash was 22 when she started leading sit-ins in Nashville.
67-31, Senate passes bill to roll back Dodd-Frank law passed in 2010 in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Still need to reconcile differences with House.
Not sure whether the @SenateDems honestly think deregulating banks is a good idea, or if they honestly think swing voters in November are clamoring for fewer bank regulations, but either way this is utterly baffling.
It's close elections like these when it's worth taking a minute to appreciate the hard work & long hours thousands of election workers/administrators put in to protect the integrity of the vote & get it right. #PA18
What happened in Parkland one month ago was another tremendous loss for our country. In the month since that tragedy, we have also seen the triumph of who we are as a nation. I’m sure that the current occupant has no idea who Professor Hawking is
😂😂😂 clueless idiocy forever. And quite comfortable in his own idiocy. Come on America, we can change this!

They might lose that one brilliant student.
That child looks sad and cowed. How awful to go to school every day, with everyone knowing your father is a monster.
He voted for Trump and harassed a woman at a T-rally in 2016.
These trumpsters are degenerates, dotards.
They might be invented to the USA from Putin’s protégé.
Yes, we actually live in a Nation with a Russian mobster in control of the Executive Office … ‘elections matter’ ….
Well, I guess she’s next one to be fired! 😷
I love the #WalkUp Idea.

Amazon wasn’t the only reason. I read somewhere that it had to do with the owners and private Equity.

i do not know…
Sigh. Sheila, I readily confess I do not understand your politicians.
you are not alone….i no longer try to understand why they do what they do…i just watch what they do…and collect the data
/resignedly/ Yea, I’m in the watching mode too.,.. interspersed with occasional moments of fluctuating hope.
yes i know…
They are from red states and are up for reelection and/or they come from big banking states. I hate it and am sickened by it, but that’s the reason.

how conservative, ridiculous, ….. morally depraved YET self-righteous half t….
The other thing to keep in mind is the big picture: the 2018 Senate map is very DAUNTING for Democrats.
The Senate has 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats (including two independents).
There are 35 seats up in 2018 and 26 are held by Democrats.
I posted an article about this a couple or so posts back. I was truly shocked & kept hoping it wasn’t so. Uggh!
How cute is this little girl??!!
Very cute…look how wide eyed she is…
Such a deep thinker!!
Precious.
How lovely.
Can I shout it out? WHAT PERSON OF INTEGRITY WOULD WANT TO WORK THERE OR HAVE THAT SHITHOLE ON THEIR RESUME? 😂😷😯
