Thank you for that picture NW, thank God we had President Obama and Michelle. Just thinking about them and who they are and what they have given to the country, continue to do, is the only thing that gives me hope.

    Good evening TOD.

Just saw headline about PP not releasing memo by Dems.

I recall Barney Frank once told a woman that conversing with her was like talking to his dining room table – he was extremely frustrated with her.
That’s exactly what I think anyone dealing with Republicans must feel. The Repugs are truly just scums.

I remember not too long ago how John Kelly was referred to as the savior of the WH, therefore, of the GOP. Anyone who agrees to work with this administration is equally vile. The only good thing Kelly did was to get rid of the empty suit Amorosa.

No idea what’s the best thing to do, this is just my personal feeling, but something tells me Pence could have stood when the “one Korea” delegation came into the Olympics, and the whole arena was on its feet. Isn’t the Olympics the “one time” we come together globally?

    Maybe I’m being naive.

      February 10, 2018 at 2:30 am

You are not “being naive,” J’OB. You just asked a common sense question that any decent person who believes in, and struggles to bring about, world peace would have no problem answering. If I remember correctly, the world cheered when West Germany was re-united with East Germany. You can call me naive too, but I think it would be wonderful if North and South Korea were to be re-united into “one Korea.” Obviously, that would not happen overnight, but if the Olympics ignited a spark that started the dialogue for unity and reduction of hostility between the two Korean families, then I am all for it. The whole world should welcome the rapprochement between North Korea and South Korea. Hopefully, that would avert a catastrophic nuclear war between the U.S. and North Korea.

        February 10, 2018 at 2:30 pm

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, nath! One Korea – one world – works for me, although (as you said) it won’t happen overnight by any stretch of the imagination. I just hope the good ol’ USA isn’t left out of the dialogue. And the only way that’ll happen is to get these barbarians out of the White House.

Am I the only person that thinks the Walmart Waltons offered Rachel Brand a job that she couldn’t refuse just to get to out for their friend to appoint someone that would shut that whole thing down? Yea, that’s where I am right now. Timing is too convenient.

    • 51 Don
      February 10, 2018 at 9:28 am

Brand’s friends leaked that she was leaving to go work for a fortune 500 company as legal counsel. The whole thing rubbed me the wrong way, what I don’t understand is why are all these people with supposedly the highest honor and reputation are all running from Trump? I thought the DOJ was filled with truth seekers and crime fighters, and to let a two-bit crook like Trump run them of their jobs doesn’t make sense.

      • 52 desertflower
        February 10, 2018 at 9:43 am

That Fortune 500 company is Walmart. For real. I can’t answer your question. Benjamin Wittes is a personal friend and was on the idiot box last night. He was surprised that this happened. I think that between the sexcapades going on in this WWF WH, and the pounding of the DOJ and FBI and all the rest by the village idiots, she figured she could add to her life expectancy and collect serious $$$ working for the Waltons. Who the hell knows anymore.

That is exactly what I was thinking too, DF. Until recently I laughingly told a friend they could put Never Shopped at Walmart on my tombstone. Then a week ago when my son came down to help me with technology issues, but only had a few hours we ended up late at night having to go to Walmart to get a new printer. Now my grave marker will need to say Rarely Shopped at Walmart instead of Never. Boo hoo.

I just want to say that most people who spell their name WOMAN are amazing. The matriarchy rule is coming sooner than I thought and BLACK WOMEN and other WOMEN of COLOR will be in the forefront. I feel it deep in my bones; there is a shifting force that will not be contained. It is a force that is coming not to destroy, but to create and to renew. It is indeed Times Up for toxic masculinity. The mis-election of the foul creature who crouches I the fetid swamp of the current white house and all of the nasty, filthy minions that are attracted to him have been allowed to see the light of day so that they can be destroyed once and for all. Some thought his elevation would cause enlightened women to slink away and lick their wounds in silence and despair and defeat, but just the opposite has occurred. Those women who have enabled these vicious men in the White House and in the republican-controlled congress will suffer their fates. There is only a small window left for them to get on the right side of history and morality, to repent, and to do all that they can to help bring down what they have helped to build up.

Morning everyone. Must Read and Share:)

You may be shocked to learn Republicans are eagerly exploding the deficit after a decade of using fears of financial imbalance to stunt our recovery.

It’s shocking in the way the sun coming up or a Burrito Supreme giving you gas or Donald Trump defending a Republican accused of abusing women is shocking, in that being shocked by it requires pretending that it doesn’t happen all the time. With a few notable exceptions, Republican presidents have grown the deficit every chance they’ve gotten in the last 50 years.

You could say that this is cynicism and shows Republicans don’t have any coherent philosophy — but that would miss how central exploding the deficit is to the conservatism.

Cutting rich people’s taxes to drive up the deficit to justify destroying the government is the underlying principle of conservative governance. Republicans believe in exploding the deficit when it helps rich people and cutting it when it helps anyone else. And as soon as there is another Democratic president, the Universe willing they’ll pretend to care about it again, the way Rand Paul pretended to care about it just weeks after voting to increase the deficit by a margin larger than the GDP of all but three states.

    • 121 Don
      February 11, 2018 at 9:07 am

Yep, that’s the first charge a Republican will make is that they care about the deficit. I don’t know how many arguments I’ve gotten into with coworkers that are Republicans that complained about President Obama raising the deficit. But now you don’t hear a peep out of them now that Trump has added over a trillion dollar to the deficit in a little over one year in office.

      • 122 desertflower
        February 11, 2018 at 9:15 am

I know. My Freedumb Freak Rep even took that little deficit/debt clock off his page:) Shocking. They are all such frauds. If anything good comes from this absolute nightmare, I hope that the American people figure out that Republicans have been fleecing and lying for DECADES.

      • February 11, 2018 at 9:57 am

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t a lot of the deficit increase — at least at the beginning of the Obama administration — occur as a result of corrections made for the cost of 2 wars and Medicare part D that the Bush administration did not account for? But Obama was charged with that deficit increase.

        • 128 Don
          February 11, 2018 at 10:30 am

Yep, President Obama actually paid for the two wars and Medicare Part D, he put them on the credit card. And that is exactly how the deficit increased.

          • February 11, 2018 at 11:54 am

So the hypocrisy of the so-called conservative deficit hawks is not new. They just buried it.

I guess the only reason they are being so open about it is because the current WH resident has created an environment where it’s okay to thumb your nose at anyone who would question their actions. But It’s on okay if you’re a Republican. Hopefully that will change after the 2018 mid-terms… or Mueller gets them all thrown *under* the jail…whichever comes first.
