Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New year wishes to all of my TOD family, posters and lurkers. The greatest gift this year, outside of my family, is this site. Like many of you last year this time i was struggling with depression after the horrible election results and it was so hard to feel good about anything. We had started saying goodbye to each other and it was all too much to have to say goodbye to the best president ever and to this wonderful village to face a dark future alone. My spirits were so lifted when NW stepped in to keep the doors open and many of the villagers returned. We all needed each other to get us through this terrible year and I am so thankful for all of you. It was rough and it still is, but that deep depression, sorrow, and despair, as well as hatred and bitterness have been lifting because of your encouragement and because we have a safe place to land. I have been reminded of what hope really is, a tool for the darkest times. Hope is what we do with belief behind it. I have hope that the dark times will end sooner than later because so many are working to make it so. We will live in the light because so many who had been silent, fearful, shy, or even previously unconcerned are stepping away from their comfort zones to truly live the life of a citizen in a republic (it is shaky, but it is still here), fighting for fairness, justice, and equality. There are more rocky ways ahead, but we can do this because we must. Thank you, TOD ohana for pulling me through, for helping me to see that people are mostly good and that heroes can come from unexpected places. I

Merry Christmas to everyone at TOD! Everyone here has been an absolute blessing so many times this past year. I so appreciate each of you, and especially Nerdy Wonka who has kept us all going. There is little doubt this may have been one of the darkest years politically in our lifetimes but we all made it through. I hope you’re able to forget politics for a couple of days and enjoy time with family and friends.
Tonight will just be church for me, with the grandkids coming back to my daughter tomorrow. This is a reversal of the way we usually do it but it has the advantage that they will get to stay with her for a few days to play with all their new things. Although we are doing Christmas at her house tomorrow, I have the leg of lamb marinating so my house still smells wonderfully like Christmas meal preparation.
Using Twitter on Christmas Eve to intimidate a witness (McCabe) in a criminal investigation is not a very Christian way to celebrate the holiday. But it does make Mr. Mueller’s job easier and that’s a nice thing to do. Merry Christmas!
