Meta brought this to our attention on the last post. Seems as though Rep. Nadler is getting a well-deserved welcome to his new role – lots of congratulatory tweets of note going out.

    • December 22, 2017 at 1:59 pm

There’s a reason they chose Jerry Nadler as top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee. He’s an expert on Constitutional Law. He’s also quite versed on the legalities of impeachment proceedings. He will be a huge force to be reckoned with when and if it comes to that. Democratic House members are fighting back on this Republican witch-hunt going after Mueller and his team. Yesterday the GOP spent 14 hrs grilling acting Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe behind closed doors. McCabe backed up Comey’s claim that Trump asked for his loyalty pledge, which of course Trump lied about. Anyway…..look for more Republican faux outrage over the Mueller investigation. They’re covering for Trump for some reason. Gee, what could it be!

read this (crude? cruel? don’t care) joke today.

A woman was leaving a convenience store with her morning coffee when she noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery.

A long black hearse was followed by a second long black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary woman walking a pit bull on a leash. Behind her, a short distance back, were about 200 women walking single file.

The woman was so curious that she respectfully approached the woman walking the dog and said, “I am so sorry for your loss, and I know now is a bad time to disturb you, but I have never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?”

    “My husband’s.”

    “What happened to him?”

The woman replied, “My dog attacked and killed him.”

She inquired further, “Well, who is in the second hearse?”

The woman answered, “My mother-in-law. She was trying to help my husband when the dog turned on her.”

A poignant and thoughtful moment of silence passed between the two women.

    “Can I borrow the dog?”

    “Get in line.”

Now replace the dead ones with gopee treasonous thugs

        December 21, 2017 at 1:53 am

Agreed amk. I simply cannot comprehend what it is going to take for voters in the US to learn their lesson. The United States’ overall decline started with Reagan, another GOP president, and his trickle down economics. That decline continued with W and his tax breaks and rescission of regulations while engaging in two Wars which also destroyed our standing in the Middle East. Now we have Trump. This massive Redistribution of wealth from the poor and middle class families to the wealthy will take decades to recover from. And that is the problem. While voters tend to put Democrats in office once disaster strikes to clean up the mess, even an 8 year term is no longer enough time to regain lost ground. In short, every decade we are falling further behind the rest of the world in terms of Infrastructure, income inequality, Environmental Policy, trade, and our standing around the world. It is not a good trend. I cringe when I think of the mess we are leaving to my grandchildren. My parents were part of the greatest generation and sadly, my peers will go down as the greediest, most corrupt, worst generation for the standing of the United States. What a sad legecy.

Last night my wife and son and I went Christmas shopping. On the way back from the mall somehow or another I got into an argument with my son, he’s 12. He says to his mother from the backseat, “this dude argues like Donald Trump.” I didn’t know what to say, I was both happy and sad, I was happy because he can be sarcastic with the best of them and he’s smart. But I was sad because he thinks Trump and I sound alike.

        December 21, 2017 at 8:27 am

Exactly…which is why, since people are FINALLY laser focused on the politics and policies that have an impact on their lives and pocketbooks, we should be RELENTLESS in the ads and messaging…each and every time we speak. That goes for all of us everyday Americans when we speak to anyone about this….and those in Congress that voted no for this monster of a money grab for the wealthy at the expense of everyone else. If we want any semblance of order and reason and a govt. that works for US, we need to take the House and Senate by HUGE margins. They fucking cheat, so we have to make absolutely sure there is no mistaking the American peoples wishes.

The UN General Assembly has approved a resolution effectively calling on the US to withdraw its recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

It was approved by 128 countries, with 35 abstaining from the vote and nine countries voting against.

The text says that any decisions regarding the status of the city are “null and void” and must be cancelled.

It came after US President Donald Trump threatened to cut financial aid to those who backed the resolution.

Before the vote, the Palestinian foreign minister urged member states to reject “blackmail and intimidation”.

Prior to the vote, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it would reject the anticipated result “outright” and dismissed the UN a “house of lies”.

All 42 counts you say, my goodness, you have to try real hard to be this incompetent. Once you figure in the fact that federal juries usually come back siding with the government in something like 90% of the time, this is so many levels of embarrassment. I mean the odds of winning the power ball are better than the odds of coming back not guilty on all 42 counts.

Amazing, isn’t it? I’m sort of shocking myself over how much hatred I feel for Trump, which only grows unfathomably with each passing day. And the party that refuses to see his criminality and treachery are horrible, too. UGH.

The party supporting him at every turn makes this million times worse, I think. We are supposed to have checks and balances in our system and we do not have them now. That’s what makes this so incredibly scary/frightening. The GOP is not going to do anything, not one thing.

    December 21, 2017 at 2:24 pm

A long read from my dear friend, Alan Oken, but loaded with fact and food for thought!♥️:

“December 21: Astrological Commentaries from Bali. Hello everyone. Depending on which side of the equator you find yourself today, it is either the winter or the summer solstice. It is also the exact conjunction of the Sun and Saturn at 0 Capricorn, an event which one of my Facebook Friends tells me takes place only once every 353 years! (The Sun and Saturn conjoin every year of course, and every 29 years in Capricorn but at 0 Capricorn, well only once in 3.5 centuries.) 0 Capricorn is known in the Ancient Wisdom as “The Degree of the Initiate.” This does not mean that if you are born on December 21 or have 0 Capricorn on the Ascendant of your natal chart that you won the Universal Karmic Lottery and have a one-way first class ticket to Shamballa. It does mean however that positive efforts have “culminated,” and rewards of and coming from, more hard work (but in the right direction!) await you. On the other hand (Saturn is exalted in Libra after all), the “results of misplaced, egocentric, solar plexus fear based life dynamics” (my polite way of saying “s..t”) has hit the fan and has culminated in your face!

I do have a lot to say about Saturn’s entry into Capricorn, its movement through the first 10 degrees of this sign during the whole of 2018, as well as Saturn’s transit to its date with Pluto (and Jupiter) in 2020 at between 20 and 25 degrees of the celestial Goat and will certainly make every effort to do so. For today however, please accept these comments along with the following few observations. I will speak more on this subject as we enter the New Year.

As I traveled, taught, and learned through Europe these past three months, I noticed the following:

    1. An increase in the consumption of alcohol and drugs (it is a pretty tough place “out there”). A need for Saturn.
    2. The way people just allow their children to scream and run wild in public places (airports, restaurants, etc.). A need for Saturn (especially for the parents!).
    3. The growing prevalence of the “Zombie walk”–huge numbers of people walking the streets with their heads stuck in their “Stupid Phones” oblivious to trees, architecture, street lights, and especially to one another. A need for Saturn.
    4. The increase in the awareness of human slavery, sexual abuse, female oppression and the efforts now underway to DO something about this. A need for Saturn.
    5. The ability of certain world “leaders” and political parties to impose the new world order of their solar plexus (wherein sit their wee hearts and huge brains–don’t even start to speak about Soul, not a hint, not a clue). A need for Saturn (one of whose incarnations is Father Time scythe in hand as the Grim Reaper, i.e. Lord of Karma).

Well guess what? Chronos is now here and he has a date with Shiva and these guys when angry in the shadows, are definitely not fun. More to follow….Love and blessings (really and truly!!!) to one and all, AO PS. Yes, even love and blessings to Trump and Austria because IF they receive them and bring them hOMe, then Chronos and Shiva can waltz together and create some wonderful structures inspired by the Will-to-Good. Well I am a 1960s Flower Child still…”

Blessed Be, all o’ y’all, Trust The Process. #bevigilantdontbeafraid

    December 21, 2017 at 2:40 pm

Another piece for reflection, when the madness gets too much:

    “At-one-ment with Capricorn

It is interesting to contrast the two signs, Cancer and Capricorn, for that which is indicated in Cancer is consummated in Capricorn. Cancer represents the home, the mother. It is personal and emotional, whilst Capricorn represents the group which the unit consciously enters, and also “the father of all that is”. The gate of Cancer is entered through the process of transference out of the animal state of consciousness into the human, whilst the gate of Capricorn is entered through initiation. One is inevitable, subconscious and potential; the other is self-initiated, self-conscious and potent. Cancer represents the mass form, the collective animal soul; Capricorn represents the group, the universal soul.

Cancer was originally called the birth month of Jesus. Capricorn is, as we know, the birth month of the Christ, and on the twenty-fifth of December down the centuries the birth of the world savior has been celebrated; but in very ancient days, the birthday of the infant sun gods was in Cancer. We are told:

“The birthday of the infant Jesus, being arbitrarily set by the priests, produces a serious discrepancy, as we are told he was born in a manger. The manger is found in the sign of the summer solstice, the constellation Cancer, which was called the gate of the sun through which souls were said to descend from their heavenly home to earth, just as at the winter solstice in December, they were said to return to their heavenly or celestial home, the constellation Capricorn, the other gate of the sun. Capricorn was the sign from which sungods were said to the born at the winter solstice and made sacred to the sons of light.” (E. Valentia Straiton, The Celestial Ship of the North, Vol. II, p. 205).

    – The Labors of Hercules”

*The mysteries have long been underneath scrutiny and looked at over millennia. We become so wrapped up in what we face each day, it can be helpful to find some perspective, to get through another day. Big hugs all around 🕉🙏🏻🕯

Yes, but I believe we don’t really know, as some feel it was a two year journey to meet him, and the many do not understand that the Wise Men, the ‘Magi’, were astrologers, hence their understanding of Who to look for, and Where to find Him, all based on the motion of stars and planets.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the level of hatred and jealousy toward President Obama. I know much of it is race, but I have come to believe that a good part of it is the reproach of a good man when evil men see him. As we all know, President Obama is a good man, in every way. The absolute evil and wickedness in the hearts of so many of the R leaders is hardly comprehensible. But it is there. They cannot tolerate seeing this good man. Everything he does reproaches them, without his saying a word, and they then must strike out and try to destroy him. Deep inside they know themselves to be no match for him, so use every dirty, underhanded, evil method they can to destroy him and his legacy.

This idea came to me while watching, of all things, a mystery show on Acorn, entitled Murdoch Mysteries, a Canadian production. The protagonist, a detective named William Murdoch is in the Toronto Constabulary, back in the late 1890s and early 1900s. He is a good man. He will not be corrupted, and is fiendishly smart. Through ten seasons some of the powers that be have come at him at various times trying to bring him down. It has never worked. Finally, in the last episode of Season 10 the corrupt city politicians who are on the make, frame him for murder and try to kill him. Looking at the two facing each other, I saw how this good vs evil played out in imaginary situations, and took it to the real life of our dear President.
Evil cannot stand to even look at goodness. I do not think I am being outlandish to call these men evil….and they hate President Obama because he did NOT have any scandals, because they could not impeach him, because his entire administration was honest, he had no moral failings…..they hated that, so now that they are temporarily in power, they are trying to bring him down. However, I believe that goodness ultimately overcomes evil…..it is not a matter of “winning” it is overcoming. As light overcomes darkness…..goodness does overcome evil. I have to keep believing this to keep my sanity.

Oh yes, Carolyn, this scene has played out many times in history. President Obama and this cast of characters are just the latest version of the story. And yes, deep down inside these men know that they cannot hold a candle to President Obama. And the more that President Obama ignores them the more belligerent they become. They are hard at work trying to destroy his legacy, but they will fail because President Obama’s legacy is much more than his accomplishments and they fail to realize this. Every piece of legislation that they pass will become empty as time passes by. No matter what Trump does he is forever trapped in President Obama’s shadow. President Obama will always win because he’s done something to Trump that nobody has ever done before, and that is he’s gotten into Trump’s head.

“It is not a matter of “winning”. It is a overcoming.” Thank you, carolyn. I needed to read this. Now just have to keep reminding myself of this. Blessings to you and yours!

I detest the way the @GOP has distorted the legislative process.
