Standing O for the genius of Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Obamas for giving him an early platform for that little project called Hamilton.

What a nerve Trump has for demanding that Weigel be fired from the Washington Post for an incorrect tweet (which Weigel deleted once he realized that it was incorrect), when he constantly tweets and makes statements which turn out to be lies. Just recently, Trump retweeted videos purporting to show Muslims committing terrorist acts and never apologized when it turned out that the videos were misleading.

Gooooood Morning…to the extraordinary folks in the TOD Village..i feel that we are in a race against time to save our democracy…attacks from the left and the right…

We have learned so much about what happens when citizens take their democracy for granted.

Sorry this is long …. but I want my thoughts about the Alabama Senate race :

I am asking people to be circumspect about the mentions (in print and on audio/video) that are authoritatively asserting that Mr. Doug Jones’ campaign has not been focusing on African American voters.

things to ponder about this argument include: is the claim really true or are people in fact going back to the same argument that they have always used?

Have these people really been to Alabama and got that concern from these voters?

Of course I do not know the answers to these questions.

What I can say I observed from a far is that before the national media paid special attention to this AL senate race, the Jones’ campaign included black people and was doing outreach to that community (long before most people were paying attention.

what I think is most likely true is that the Democratic party in AL has been very weak and there is not strong political apparatus to reach out to ALL segments of the state.

as a result of this weakness in the AL Democratic party, the Jones’ campaign has had to create his campaign from scratch. One would not be surprised that this outreach is not an easy process.

it is also important to remember that at the beginning, Mr. Jones did not have a lot money and other resources because very few people expected him to make any headway in AL as a Democrat.

the issue of financial resource constraints changed after the charges were leveled against his opponent and now Mr. Jones has more resources.

Yes, Mr. Jones has now received more money from Dems across the country and therefore the speed of outreach has increased all across the state and also to the African American community. Of course more resources needed to have been invested but the question is where those resources available from the start?

As I wrote here a number of days ago, the belated media focus on what African Americans in AL are saying about the vote is to me a bac-handed way to try and blame black people of potential negative results although they are only a small part of the electorate.

to me, it seems that each election cycle, there are positions that certain people seem to take and most are assuming those positions right on queue as the voting starts.

Ps: Please put me down as a person who does not believe that the predictions of the results of the AL senate race are all true. I will admit that I do not what will happen …. but I know what should happen if we were dealing with rational and morally-uncompromised people

      hey, please forgive the many typos …. note to self, please edit your comments before posting;

as far as Mr. Jones’ campaign is concerned, I will just do what I can to promote him and his message until the results are announced.

      GM GCL.

Excellent observation — IMHO, MSM is doing what they’ve been doing since WJC’s impeachment — trying to stir up as much “controversy” as possible, positioning their news from the “white as default” perspective.

It’s only gotten worse since the 2008 election cycle, when MSM did their best to promote division within the Dem party (their OMG coverage of minor incidents between HRC and BHO campaign staffers, etc.).

Saw this yesterday — are you in OH-15?

    GM TODville.

I get really worried when I sense that the current occupant of the WH may escape the consequences of his treason. He is such a cruel, simple-minded monster casting a shadow of corruption over the entire country, and prompting other nations who aren’t ruled by tyrants to flee US influence as quickly as possible. 😦

Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a lying nut just like her boss. Someone need to tell that liar that it was Obama who brought this economy back from the bridge of another great depression.

President Obama gets ALL the credit for the growing economy. He passed the stimulus package, saved the auto industry, passed the ACA and created a stable environment where the stock market soared and the jobless rate decreased steadily over time. What has Trump done for the economy? His tax cut is about to destroy middle class/working class incomes. Ditto Ryan’s plans to cut Social Security and Medicaid.
