Well done, Pamela! I feel better knowing President Obama is out in the world presenting the opposite face of American leadership to the current cretin.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, JF. We all worked too hard, especially PBO, MO, all those closest to them, to sit by and watch the degradation and destruction of all we achieved. With so more to do –

I admit that used to think that wisdom comes with age, but after reading statements from Hatch and Grassley I totally changed my mind. Age has very little to do with wisdom.

Ever notice how the Republicans accuse the Democrats of their own crimes? Deflect off of their own elitist, entitled attitude and cast it onto the opposition. What example could show this better than Grassley’s spending/deserving pronouncement?

      GM Sheila.

From what I’ve heard, GOTV is absolutely essential next Tuesday.

I simply cannot wrap my head around people who are *more* inclined to vote for Moore with FUBAR’s support — which I heard on the radio yesterday.

These straight-line GOP voters (see FoxfireTX comment below) are simply clueless that by voting for ANY GOPers in this age of #Trumpistan, they’re saying “Yes, take my hard earned tax dollars and place directly into your own pocket, while our children, schools, infrastructure, health, etc., circle the drain.”

This is the price we’re paying for MSM propaganda, for “reporting” on political activities as a horserace, while ignoring the fact that our oligarchs are truly siphoning taxpayer dollars into their own pockets — with zero consequence for their fraud and corruption.

It’s ridiculous that Trump would deny something that is on videotape. Something is truly wrong with him. He’s not fit to be in the White House.

Looks like Citizen’s United was the beginning of the end to our (human beings) First Amendment rights — they’re now reserved for corporations… next step is to undermine the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Today’s GOP (aka Russians, Koch Brothers and fellow billionaire donors) goal is to dismantle not only BHO’s accomplishments, but to end FDR’s and LBJ’s as well.

Forgot to mention the relevancy of this case:
“Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the case of the gay wedding cake, which will be heard by the Supreme Court on December 5. The cake shop, and the baker who is a major shareholder, assert that his religious beliefs should allow him to refuse service—in violation of a state civil-rights statute—to a same-sex couple seeking a custom wedding cake.”

          GM Sherijr.

Sounds like he’s going to be a witness to history — (like many others I suspect) I thought this case was an attack on our First Amendment right of freedom of religion (like FUBAR’s “travel [aka Muslim] ban), but instead, the attack is on our most fundamental freedom.

Which brings to mind the “First They Came…” poem — if American’s freedom of speech is superseded by our oil baron oligarchs, then we truly will be living in #Trumpistan. Shudder.
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_they_came_

I hope your son reads this article before viewing the case tomorrow — an important perspective, IMHO.

For those interested, here’s a thread on #BearsEars and #GrandStaircaseEscalante… unfortunately the grotesque evil occupying the WH will once again venture west of the Rocky Mountains (GEOTWH was in Arizona a couple of months ago too 😦 ).

Maps, and as a bonus 😉 a photo of me at Grand Staircase Escalante (took a digital photo of the photograph and had a problem with the glare 😦 — tweet 6 of 6).

Link to article with the maps:

I hope no other state follows Alabama’s example next year — but who knows, Kobach and Sessions may make it mandatory… 😦

    • 35 FoxfireTX
      December 4, 2017 at 3:20 am

I know that in a number of states, including Texas, you can select a straight Dem or Repub ballot option and the machine selects all the Dem or GOP candidates rather than going through each individual candidate. So I don’t think it is unusual.

      • 36 arapaho415
        December 4, 2017 at 8:12 am

        GM FoxfireTX.

Thanks for letting me know. Makes voting easier for a lot people — I so hope Dems in Alabama will vote next week. Last week a tweet was posted here re: many unaware of next week’s election. I certainly understand why — in all the years I’ve voted, my county has had only a handful of “special elections” (an election not in an even year), most notably in 2003, when we had to wade through more than 130 candidates for Governor after Gray Davis was recalled.

Wish we could have a recall election to remove the grotesque evil occupying the WH, including every Cabinet member whose only goal is to dismantle the department they’re responsible for, while lining their own pockets at taxpayer expense.

        December 4, 2017 at 11:03 am

Yes but if that’s not the rules in Alabama then they can’t be changed after the ballots have been printed. To me it sounds like federal election fraud

I would think by now that anyone who votes Republicans knows quite well that they’re voting for a pedophile. But Republicans are good at playing dirty games. It’s unbelievable how many of them are supporting a child molester for the Senate.

Here’s to hoping Alabama can help end the prevailing GOP madness by electing a Democrat. I have so much respect for the foot soldiets who never give up, whether it’s knocking on doors or making phone calls etc etc etc … to help elect lawmakers who make a positive change in the lives of people.

Thanks for posting this, rikyrah. An important observation from Mr. Brownstein:

This tax bill is the coalition of restoration taking aim at the coalition of transformation: in different ways it targets urban residents, blue-states, college & grad students, Millennials-all groups central to the D coalition. It’s an enemies list as much as a revenue bill

Well, of course they do, but that won’t happen…so instead, they plan to punish the blue state voters (you know who you are!) for daring to have a well-run state that prospers….and goes against the wishes of Republicans….even though the “blue states” end up making up what the low taxed red states need…ie, the dirty secret that the red states are truly the welfare states, not blue states. These vindictive people are the shits. They have to be voted out, en masse

Mueller doesn’t believe that Trump is above the law. Neither does Schneiderman, AG for NY. He’s going to learn that he’s not above the law (hopefully quite soon).

Kissinger, was he really in the oval at that time? Every time I see that Lavrov guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks like he knows where all the bodies are buried.

      • December 4, 2017 at 8:54 am

He definitely met with Trump that day but I think it was after Trump had already met with the Russians. But Mueller may want to see if Trump shared any info with him.

I think might Pence might be the hardest one to get because he knows his away around Washington. I don’t like he would let himself get caught in a trap with the likes of Don Jr. or Kushner, Pence is vile, not stupid.

“I think not having the estate tax recognizes the people that are investing,” Grassley (R-Iowa) told the Des Moines Register, “as opposed to those that are just spending every darn penny they have, whether it’s on booze or women or movies.”

Dear Working Class Republicans, Grassley is talking about you. You’re the voters that keep voting against your own best interest and being made a fool out of. In reality it is the working class that keeps the economy running. It is the working class that crowds the department stores on the weekend to purchase goods. It is the working class that buys new and used cars on the weekend. It is the working class that buys services. it is the working class that actually make the economy hum. The investor class spends its money on the stock market, and these are the people that Grassley and his brethren hold in high esteem.

      December 4, 2017 at 11:15 am

Unfortunately DON the people that vote GOP don’t care. They vote GOP even if they came out and said “There are no tax cuts for working people” (which they have said and shown on several occasions) yet these same baboons who vote GOP actually will sympathize for the plight of the rich over their own families. I just don’t get it. I saw on one of the tax cut debates a trumpanzee say it was not fair to tax the rich more. They do not care about the deficit unless Democrats are in charge.

Lack of education, lack of moral compass and lack of desire to make decisions based on facts, but preferring to let someone else make the decisions directs the GOP voters’ lives. The articles on those that like authoritative government seems to fit the Trump voter narrative.

  31. December 4, 2017 at 11:59 am
