Sheila, there two video-clips: One shows Leeann Tweeden, in the 2004 USO tour, aggressively kissing Robin Williams and then giving him a smack his behind. The other, from the 2006 USO tour with Al Franken, shows Tweeden grinding and groping another musician on the stage with her.You can find these at “bipartisan.com” I am now convinced her allegations against Sem. Franken were part of the plot to take the pressure from Roy Moore, and at the same time get rid of one of Senators who has sharply questioned AG Sessions.

In the news part of news-entertainment shows, I’m watching that new Kasie-DC show on MSNBC, first time I’ve seen it. Was just thinking that within the first 30 minutes of it, there was only one A-A woman on it via a tiny news clip from another show, and no other POC on set so far or in any of the other numerous news clips she’s brought in.

Pretty sure she can handle the next half hour without me. I may be only one viewer, but I like diversity.

Grassroots groups focusing on various aspects of gotv., fielding candidates for every office, fighting voter suppression and gerrymandering, court challenges, and getting the word out to gt protests activated and more is what will win the day, Too many congressional democrats, the DNC, and others who get on TV are not the heart and soul of the transformational efforts and resistance that are lighting up every day Democrats. We are bottom/up folks who will get shit done. We are not confused about what we want or need and are not afraid to do things and to go where traditional Democrats have never been. “To get something you have never had, you have to do things you have never done.” is what we must continue to do to re-invigorate, remake, and revolutionize our party. I have said before that decentralization is our strength and it is being born out with each victory at the polls. As we get closer to 2018, I see a groundswell of activity leading to victory. It is unfortunate that humans have to hit rock bottom before they make an effort to make changes in their lives, but if short-time suffering leads to long-time improvements and victory for what is right, just, and good, then I am here for it. Special thanks to the women groups who set the fires of resistance and led the way.

I feel the same way, Jey! Bernie Sanders and his sycophants are on a mission to destroy the Democratic Party. I think there are two factions in the Bernie Sanders’ club:1) the wannabe socialist revolutionaries who believe that the destruction of the Democratic Party will pave the way for the triumph of the Socialist Revolution in the United States; and, 2) the anti-government libertarians who, in my humble opinion, are secretly working in cahoots with the Republican Party to weaken the Democratic Party by promoting/ amplifying disunity among the Democrats. Bernie Sanders’ supporters go around claiming to be the base of the Democratic Party, but they rarely vote for Democratic candidates. Many of them prefer to vote for third party/independent candidates or not vote at all.

I am really getting tired of them focusing on the Dems. They need to be fighting the Republicans and on saving our country. The Democratic party isn’t perfect but it’s the only party fighting for the people and this country. Right now the most important things is saving out country.

Nov 19 is the anniversary of President Lincoln’s delivery of the Gettysburg Address. This guy sent me a recording of President Obama reciting it. I’ve listened at least 5 times. I miss his wise & calming voice so much.

  31. November 20, 2017 at 2:33 am

Went out to dinner with friends tonight and learned that a mutual acquaintance was one of two finalists to help Michelle Obama write her memoirs. I mean, WOW. This friend met with Michelle and her team and her takeaway was that Michelle is absolutely an A-MAZ-ING woman on every level and she was so impressed with the entire interview. In the end, although she’s a great writer with a best seller under her belt, our friend didn’t get the job but was grateful for the full experience of making it to the end.

Also, I got a Lyft car home and my driver was the sweetest guy you could ever imagine. Turns out he’s from Afghanistan and he worked in support of the U.S. Army. He was allowed to come to America on a special visa from Pres Obama. Many of his friends are still waiting to get their approval, which must be worded in a very specific way. It only took him 35 days to get his green card and he is grateful to be in America. He says he’s studying the subject of democracy and trying his best to understand how it all works. We had an amazing conversation. I was so thrilled to meet him, a super sweet and kind young man.

I keep trying my best to have the highest faith in our democracy and today was a day when I felt we will make it home. With everyone’s help, we will make it home.

We need every ray of hope we can gather. Happy to share and encourage others to do so here so we can collectively feel like there is HOPE for us through this dark period.

You know, the last 3 Lyft drivers I’ve had have all been young immigrants, from Brazil, Mexico and Afghanistan. I think this entrepreneurial economy that PBO started to encourage, especially with Obamacare and the freedom to be self-employed, is thriving for young people like this.

FORBES: GOP Tax Bill Is The End Of All Economic Sanity In Washington

. . . If it’s enacted, the GOP tax cut now working its way through Congress will be the start of a decades-long economic policy disaster unlike any other that has occurred in American history.

There’s no economic justification whatsoever for a tax cut at this time. U.S. GDP is growing, unemployment is close to 4 percent (below what is commonly considered “full employment”, corporate profits are at record levels and stock markets are soaring. It makes no sense to add any federal government-induced stimulus to all this private sector-caused economic activity, let alone a tax cut as big as this one.

This is actually the ideal time for Washington to be doing the opposite. But by damning the economic torpedoes and moving full-speed ahead, House and Senate Republicans and the Trump White House are setting up the U.S. for the modern-day analog of the inflation-producing guns-and-butter economic policy of the Vietnam era. The GOP tax bill will increase the federal deficit by $2 trillion or more over the next decade (the official estimates of $1.5 trillion hide the real amount with a witches brew of gimmicks and outright lies) that, unless all the rules have changed, is virtually certain to result in inflation and much higher interest rates than would otherwise occur.

The GOP’s insanity is compounded by its moving ahead without having any idea of what this policy will actually do to the economy. The debates in the Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees and on the House floor all took place before the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis and, if it really exists, the constantly-promised-but-never-seen report from the Treasury on the economics of this tax bill. . . .

Supersonic bombers scream toward their targets and multiple silo doors swing open in preparation for launch officers to fire their nuclear missiles, as submarines simultaneously begin rising to attack depth — ready to deliver their lethal payloads — after receiving war orders from an unhinged commander-in-chief.

While this scenario is truly the stuff of terrifying nightmares, policymakers in Washington are worried enough about it that they have started discussions on just how to prevent it.

Although there is much ongoing debate over whether Trump really has the power to order a nuclear attack, legislators are now urgently reviewing presidential war-making authority, with the hope of stopping Trump in the event he tries to order a nuclear strike. They also found themselves in the uncomfortable place of having to consider the president’s mental state, as congressmen raised serious doubts about Trump’s fitness to wield the nation’s nuclear launch codes. … Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., spoke candidly about the distress that a nuclear-armed Trump is causing him and other members of Congress.

“We are concerned that the president of the United States is so unstable, is so volatile, has a decision-making process that is so quixotic, that he might order a nuclear weapons strike that is wildly out of step with U.S. national security interests.” …
