      GE JO’B.

      Absolutely. (See my post downthread.)

re: your comment on the previous thread re: USN scandal, some background from Jan 2015. The root cause is inequity in the military, where Admirals live like kings, and demoralized troops/sailors.

      From the article:
“Only eighteen percent of the sailors surveyed said morale was “good,” with forty-two percent describing morale as “poor” or “marginal,” while fully half of those surveyed had no interest in moving up the chain of command themselves. To quote the study:

37.2 percent regard senior leadership as ‘marginal’ or ‘poor,’ a plurality state they do not trust senior leaders, 51.3 percent don’t believe senior leaders care what they think and 50.1 percent of sailors do not believe senior leaders hold themselves accountable.”

Taking money from the poor to give to the ultra rich = Republicanism. So all those White working class idiots who voted for Trump actually voted for the ultra wealthy to suck their blood. This is appalling.

GOP tax plan overwhelmingly favors the wealthy and might stall in Senate, new analyses show
A new report from the Tax Policy Center shows that, by 2027, two-thirds of tax cuts in the House bill would go to the top 5 percent of earners.
In addition, the Tax Policy Center analysis shows that 27.5 percent of all taxpayers would see their tax bills go higher under the tax bill by 2027.
A second report shows that the House GOP bill would increase federal deficits substantially in both the short-run and the long-run in ways that would vastly increase the difficulty of passing it in the Senate.

Good luck to all those voting in VA, NJ, and other states/cities. Wishing our Dem candidates the wins that they deserve.

It’s always too soon to talk about gun control after the lates and ever increasing mass KILLING in the good ole US of A. So of course I knocked the barnacles off my gun rant.

Obviously any of the following proposals will take a lot of time and debate to accomplish in a national culture of dehumanized adoration of guns. There’s probably only a chance for some pieces of sane control being slowly enacted piece-meal and requiring much compromise on both sides. But DOING NOTHING is no longer acceptable to the majority of rational Americans. SOMETHING has to happen. There has to be change in this country to address the insanity of gun violence that is ending or ruining too many men, women and CHILDREN’S lives. For the following ideas, please remember: 1) The NRA and gun worshipping ammosexuals are against ALL controls. They won’t accept ANYTHING but unlimited ownership and access to all types of readily available INSTANT DEATH DEVICES (IDDs), 2) Everyone of the ideas below ALLOWS for continued private ownership of guns-YOU CAN KEEP YOUR FUCKING GUNS!, and 3) If you are a gun owner, which of these measures would be ok with you? Seriously, just NOTHING? Reasonable regulations for registration, safety requirements and insurance for automobiles make sense, but NOTHING fo IDDs?? Why would a sane, responsible gun owner be opposed to every single measure to improve gun safety? 33,000K+ gun deaths in America per year and rising. NO OTHER ADVANCED SOCIETY IN THE WORLD HAS THIS PROBLEM OR ANYTHING CLOSE TO IT.
    A few ideas:
    1. Strict criminal and psychiatric background checks for gun purchases with a 30 day waiting period. Dealers that violate have their licenses permanently revoked. Dealers found to be in willful violation face criminal charges and jail time.
    2. A permanent ban on all gun show sales, and private party sales. Sales will only happen through closely regulated and monitored dealers.
    3. Registration of all guns by owners with annual renewal required; stiff penalties for violations.
    4. Owners required to carry $500,000 liability insurance for each gun; stiff penalties for violations. Insurance is required on automobiles, why not something as deadly as IDDs?
    5. An immediate ban on private ownership of military weapons and ammunition.
    6. Strict and sane limits on the number of guns that can be purchased and possessed by each person.
    7. Freeze on all manufacture of guns until the manufacturer retools to produce only guns with valid and approved security features (biometric lock-outs etc.).
    8. Freeze on all manufacture of ammunition until manufacturers re-tool to produce only traceable ammunition.
    9. Strict and sane limits on the amount of ammunition per gun that can be purchased and possessed.
    10. A massive national gun and ammunition buy-back program with collected guns and ammunition going for destruction within 30 days. I’d happily pay more taxes for years for that program! This was done on a large scale and very successfully in Australia.
    11. A sustained and multi-faceted national education program on the inherent danger of guns. It would emphasize the enormous toll of lost and ruined lives and the virtues of evolving as a society away from gun ownership. Stress how other advanced societies don’t have this problem.
Proponents of unlimited ownership and access to guns love to trot out the old cliché about the person kills not the gun AND we only need to address mental illness. But the quantum leap in the level and frequency of murder and MASS MURDER in America is directly connected to the obscene availability of guns. INSTANT DEATH DEVICES. I am ALL FOR a better system of mental health recognition and treatments. But we must work on all angles of this problem that OTHER ADVANCED SOCIETIES DO NOT HAVE. The insane mega-tons of privately owned guns in this country has close to ZERO beneficial effects and disastrous levels of destructive effects.

WHO WANTS TO KEEP LIVING THIS WAY? And …this is IT?? We live like this forever?

At least nine people in Trump’s orbit had contact with Russians during campaign and transition
By Rosalind S. Helderman, Tom Hamburger and Carol D. Leonnig
    November 5 at 10:50 PM

After questions emerged about whether campaign foreign policy adviser Carter Page had ties to Russia, President Trump called him a “very low-level member” of a committee and said that “I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to him.”

When it was revealed that his son met with a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower, the president told reporters that “zero happened from the meeting” and that “the press made a very big deal over something that really a lot of people would do.”

And, last week, with the revelation that adviser George Papadopoulos had pleaded guilty to lying to federal agents about his efforts to arrange meetings between Moscow and the Trump campaign, the president derided him as a “low-level volunteer.”

While Trump has sought to dismiss these Russia ties as insignificant, or characterized the people involved in them as peripheral figures, it has now become clear that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III views at least some of them as important pieces of his sprawling investigation of Russian meddling in last year’s presidential campaign.

In all, documents and interviews show there are at least nine Trump associates who had contacts with Russians during the campaign or presidential transition. Some are well-known, and others, such as Papadopoulos, have been more on the periphery.
