Geez Louise Meta, you took up over an hour of my precious time!!!! I watched this because it indicated 10 mins, then got hooked into watching each of the other 10mins segments, plus the 5+ mins finale. Grrrr.

However, you were right about stunning parallels. Here’s a segment of Sect 9 which I appreciated. It talks a bit about people’s right to protest and a little later shows the tenacity and knowledge of the Senate committee in questioning one ‘smart-ass’ participant.. You can watch from 1:18 to 5:27… or to the end if you will [ 😉 ].
It’s well worth the time to watch it all, for many reasons. It chronicles our history of wrong doing at the highest levels and it instructs us what is possible on the road ahead. It is a very, very compelling documentary.
I was a high school senior and my government class watched the Watergate hearings. John Halderman was a past student at our school and in the Hall of Fame in our main building with all notable graduates. Someone painted bars on the glass in front of his picture saying he was going to jail……and he did.

This gave me the first background look at that period – all I’d had before were the references made here and there. , and the truth is I would not have watched if you had placed the full video. 😉 I have a very short video-attention span. With Manafort being the first to be indicted leads me to believe that they are going to get Trump not on collusion but on financial crimes.

As the political world waits anxiously for the seal to be broken on special counsel Robert Mueller’s indictments, the smart money is on Paul Manafort as the principal target. Manafort is clearly corrupt, having made millions under the table selling his services to pro-Putin forces in Ukraine. He’s the target of an FBI probe focused on at least 13 suspicious wire transfers related to his dealing overseas.
Beyond pathetically attempting to redirect attention to Hillary Clinton and attack the integrity of the Steele dossier, the conservative line is that while Manafort may have been involved in shady dealings, and while Trump’s family and campaign may have met with Russians promising to deliver dirt on his opponent, Trump himself was not complicit with Russia to interfere in the election.
This is almost assuredly untrue, because there was no reason to hire Manafort in the first place except to collude with Russia.

I’ve had a strange reaction to this news today. When I read the indictment “Conspiracy against the United States” I cried. This is a sad day for the country….I know we’ve all suspected this, but to see it written in black and white hit me in the stomach and tear ducts. This country I love, this country that gave these men SO MUCH, for which they never served….that they would conspire against the country is more than this old lady can take. I cannot rejoice, even though I am VERY glad this is coming out, knowing that these awful people actually conspired against us with Russia is too awful for rejoicing.
I do feel sick to my sick. Even though I’m glad Mueller’s work has born fruit, we are facing a very long and difficult process. Trump and his insane cult will be engaged in open aggression.
