🙂 Hi Judith. I’ve been sending quiet, virtual support to you and the rest of the US family as you fight your ongoing battle over the ACA. Please God, may this be the last of it and maybe now your Congress will stop wasting time and money AND people’s mental &/ physical health.
Judith, am I ever hoping that their rage will really be killed by Oct. 1! It’s been more than tiresome that GOPs have been stuck in this health rut month after month. MEAN and HEARTLESS folks!

America expected Jerry Jones to side with Trump. Instead he kneels with his team! You gotta love America! I hate the #Cowboys but way to go! pic.twitter.com/fdE6SaR2Na
What Dallas Cowboys did was a cop out. Kaepernick refused to stand for the National Anthem. It’s not about a show of unity or a rebuke to Trump. It’s about protesting the killing of unarmed Black people. Taking a knee and then standing up during the National Anthem is not an effective protest at all.
The Brazilian government has revoked a controversial decree that would have opened up a vast reserve in the Amazon to commercial mining.
The area, covering 46,000 sq km (17,800 sq miles), straddles the northern states of Amapa and Para.
It is thought to be rich in gold, iron, manganese and other minerals.
From the moment President Michel Temer signed the decree in August opening the reserve to commercial mining, it was widely condemned.
Activists and celebrities voiced concern that the area could be badly compromised.
One opposition senator, Randolfe Rodrigues of the Sustainability Network party, said at the time that it was the “biggest attack on the Amazon in the last 50 years”.
Following the criticism, the government revised the decree, prohibiting mining in conservation or indigenous areas.
But a court later suspended the measure altogether, saying any change to the reserve’s status had to be considered by the Brazilian congress.
The only way it will be dead for ever is the voters come to their senses in 2018 and give the dems a veto proof majority in both the houses. The thugs will never give up.
you are right…they will never give up…and that is what #WeThePeople…do not understand….they Never Give UP…so we must ever defend our constitutional rights and liberties…
i suspect that the next move will be to get rid of the Filibuster….McConnell will be under tremendous pressure if this bill fails…
The problem is that we know this is happening but nothing is being done to stop this voter suppression and it will only spread. And of course, SCOTUS (now dominated by Rightwing Justices) may end up allowing it to be made nation-wide.
The protests have been hijacked by folks with an agenda. I tried to set the record straight this morning. I think this is worth your time. pic.twitter.com/p5xmmjeeYY
Large numbers of people have taken part in a landmark vote on independence for Iraq’s Kurdistan region, amid growing opposition both at home and abroad.
Votes are still being counted, with a big “yes” victory expected.
Kurds say it will give them a mandate to negotiate secession, but Iraq’s PM denounced it as “unconstitutional”.
Neighbours Turkey and Iran, fearing separatist unrest in their own Kurdish minorities, threatened to close borders and impose sanctions on oil exports.
The referendum passed off peacefully across the three provinces that make up the region, and turnout was estimated at about 72%, according to the electoral commission.
There were scenes of celebration as the polls closed in the regional capital, Irbil, and in the disputed city of Kirkuk, where a curfew was imposed on Monday night amid fears of unrest.

Lost in this protest conversation is the fact that history shows that this entire nation was built on peaceful protest. The day that they tossed the tea into the Boston Harbor, is the day white folks said we have had enough of being dictated to and not heard. There was a time of peaceful protest before white women got the right to vote. There was a time of peaceful protest before people who looked like me didn’t have to ride the back of the bus, go to the school that that wanted, and got the right to vote. Lost in this argument is the fact that Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and other US Territories need assistance. Legislation needs to be put forth before congress. Senators and Congresspeople need to get their asses out of their chairs and fly to these places of devastation and get a clue what is important. And the media needs to stop letting the occupant of the White House hijack every news cycle. He’s an idiot and until you stop giving him attention and focus on other things, maybe just maybe he will start taking his job seriously. #lookattheshinyobject #stoprepealandreplace #helpplacesdevastedbharveyirmamaria
This. The scum is very good in inciting normal people in order to deflect issues away from him while at the same time drawing attention to him. Fucking msm will continue to be drawn to him like to flies to the s..tpile. Establishment dems need to focus on 2018 elections, getting the voter ID’s, challenging voter suppression and keeping voters engaged in positive policies. The thugs do campaigning 24×7 to keep their base ‘energized’ and angry.
waiting (in vain) to hear all those people who have been up-in-arms about PBO’s speeches and relentlessly counting The Obama money, to at least acknowledge that a portion of this is being used to provide job-training for young people.
The president really should be concentrating almost all his attention on foreign policy and domestic relief efforts. Puerto Rico needs the modern equivalent of the Berlin airlift, but this time on the scale not of a city but of a state or country.
Planning for something of this scale needs to start immediately because without it, the death toll in Puerto Rico will become unimaginable. The number of people who are out of money, food, water, fuel and critical medical supplies will grow every day. Many areas of the country are virtually inaccessible due to damaged infrastructure, obstructed roads, and lack of communications. There are people already suffering from lack of food and water, and starvation isn’t far off.
We need new airstrips and all hands on deck to restore power. We need thousands and thousands of cargo flights, probably on an ongoing basis for the next year. We need vast amounts of equipment and manpower to operate it in order to clear debris, clear roads, and get things in a condition to where people can begin to rebuild. We need mobile medical teams that can move in and out of remote areas and evacuate those who will die without supervision.

This guy needs to be squished like a bug.
Trump is the one I want to see squashed. He deserves whatever nastiness is coming his way from Mueller.
Good for him for ‘telling it like it is’.

A female US Marine has made history by becoming the first woman to complete the Corps’ famously gruelling infantry officer training.
The lieutenant, who wants to keep her identity private, graduated in Quantico, Virginia, on Monday.
She will soon be assigned to lead a 40-strong platoon.
Marine Corps commandant Gen. Robert Neller tweeted a picture of the woman, saying he was “proud of this officer & her fellow leaders”.
There are almost 1.4 million active duty troops in the US armed forces, and about 15% are female.
In March 2016, then-President Barack Obama opened all military positions to women, including combat units.
