Sadly, the GOP aren’t going to let repealing the ACA go for as long as Trump is in office or when they no longer hold the majority of seats in the Senate and House. Next year’s vote is crucial to protecting our healthcare.

You can rest assured that Stephanie is no idiot, and I’d guess that’s why David Corn latched onto her tweet. Her tweet was a mock to Ivanka. Stephanie’s an anti-trump fighter! In my book, she’s one of the best on daytime MSNBC TV (has a show with Ali Velshi), isn’t afraid to take ’em all on, with great creds (in the financial world, too).

      My take, anyway.

He idolizes President Obama – in the best possible way, because he worked with him up close and personal and knows the man, on and off stage (so to speak), and found him to be the same man in public as he was in private!

      GE/GM DF.

Late to this, so I hope you (or someone) sees this.

The TIME investigation confused me because there’s two different articles published in separate months (June and July 2017).

The article that @GovHowardDean and @kylegriffin1 reference was published in June:

Here’s the follow-up article published in July, with specific information about the voter data that was altered by hackers, which was uncovered during Jun 2016 primary in Riverside County CA.

Here’s tweet 1 in this thread:

IMHO (LOL), there’s other good information in this thread, for those who are interested.

      • 30 arapaho415
        September 18, 2017 at 12:07 am

Having posted tweet #7 here before, you’d think I would have remembered to post the link to the July 19, 2017 TIME article which is here:

Also forgot to say that officials stand by their claim that voter data was not altered for the November (FUBAR) election (only California admits to data manipulation of voter files for June 2016 primary), but we only have their word that this is true…

Thoughts on Bannon in a culture of increasing No-truth:
IMHO it’s all about appearances. Bannon would have us believe he’s the Loner acting on his own behalf in his (hah!) quasi-artsy
intellectual dirty beard and scruffy suit – when he’s really a not so bright guy being used by the corporates. Not a ‘rogue’ actor. We’re to
believe the players are odds with each other. Do you believe that? Whatever. The goal of the Architects is for GOP to elect the Roy
Moores who want to cooperate and create a Fascist government. GOP has been veering in that direction for decades. Trump is the pawn in getting that done.

Morning everyone:) Was in my Inbox this morning….pass it on:)

Want to share this week’s email and Indivisible to-dos with others in your community? We’ve got you covered right here! You can share it directly on Facebook, tweet it, or email it, from this page. You can also encourage your colleagues, friends, and family to get involved in Indivisible’s work to hold your members of Congress accountable by asking them to sign up for these weekly updates delivered straight to their inbox at http://www.indivisibleguide.com/signup.

    Your weekly Indivisible to-dos:

STOP THE RETURN OF TRUMPCARE. TrumpCare is back and Republicans are as close as they’ve ever been to passing it. There are 12 days left for the Senate to ram healthcare through reconciliation with just 50 votes. This is TrumpCare’s last stand. Call your senators ASAP and tell them to vote no on “Graham-Cassidy” using all the latest resources at TrumpCareTen.org.

Don’t let Trump use fear to trample on civil liberties. We stand in solidarity with those impacted by the horrific acts of violence in London. We also condemn Trump’s knee-jerk rhetoric and irresponsible exploitation of this moment to promote expanding his bigoted Muslim ban. Find out what you can do to resist the Muslim ban at nomuslimbanever.com.

Continue pressuring MoCs for a clean DREAM Act. Democratic Leaders Pelosi and Schumer continue to cultivate their cozy relationship with Trump. Last week, they announced a deal (to make a deal) on the DREAM Act with Trump. Contact your MoCs and use our call scripts to tell them that you want to see a “clean” DREAM Act.

Tell your representative to protect people with disabilities and vote no on H.R. 620. We really shouldn’t even have to say this (that’s how outrageous this bill is), but we need you to call your representative and tell them to vote no on H.R. 620 should it come to the House floor for a vote. As noted by Human Rights watch, this bill “would very deliberately undermine the protections afforded under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)” and would “dramatically increase the burden on any person with a disability who seeks to vindicate their rights.”

Blue state/red state calling tool is back: help fund calls to stop TrumpCare once and for all. We’re pulling out all the stops to end the latest reincarnation of TrumpCare. And we need your help to sponsor a call tool that will connect Indivisibles across the country with progressive constituents in Alaska, Arizona, Tennessee, and West Virginia, to encourage them to call their Senators.

Did you see my reply to you re: @GovHowardDean’s tweet from June? Turns out there’s a follow up TIME article which provides more detail on that June article, and which says that the voter manipulation occurred in California’s June primary, not during the November [FUBAR] election.

Mayhew, from Balloon Juice, is calling again to stand up against Trumpcare:

    To the phones
    by David Anderson
    at 8:11 am on September 18, 2017

One last push, two more weeks, thirteen more calls to make to protect that ACA and our vision of a just society.

Right now Cassidy-Graham is chugging along with the hope that the need to do SOMETHING means that the last bill standing is SOMETHING.

We can do something about it.

Call your Senators today. If you are from North Carolina, Florida or the Upper Midwest, tell your Senators that you don’t want your state to get whacked to reward Texas’ intransigence. If you are not from those states, ask your Senators to vote for Murray-Alexander as the only health care bill.

Call your Governors as they would be handed an incredible mess.

Text “resist” to 504-09 and in about a minute you will be able to fax your Rep, Senators, and Governor. There is an option to send a letter and I read on twitter that @resistbot is amassing a huge team of volunteers to deliver the letters.

    • 72 desertflower
      September 18, 2017 at 10:23 am

      From Krugman’s piece:

In reality, Graham-Cassidy is the opposite of moderate. It contains, in exaggerated and almost caricature form, all the elements that made previous Republican proposals so cruel and destructive. It would eliminate the individual mandate, undermine if not effectively eliminate protection for people with pre-existing conditions, and slash funding for subsidies and Medicaid. There are a few additional twists, but they’re all bad — notably, a funding formula that would penalize states that are actually successful in reducing the number of uninsured.

Did this bill’s sponsors — Lindsey Graham, Bill Cassidy, Ron Johnson and Dean Heller — manage to get through months of health care debate without learning anything about the issue? Maybe. But surely the rest of the Senate, not to mention much of the public, has wised up about false Republican promises. A huge majority of voters, almost two to one, consider it a good thing that previous attempts at repealing and replacing Obamacare failed.

Yet there is a real chance that Graham-Cassidy, which is similar to but even worse than previous Republican proposals, will nonetheless become law, because not enough people are taking it seriously.

So once again an army of our citizens have to mobilize to beat back those that wish to take away our healthcare. For a moment forget about NASA exploring new galaxies, or the new iphone that has facial recognition technology. Forget about all the wondrous and new discoveries that man makes almost on a daily basis. I was watching an old episode of star trek the other day and it hit me that how insane it would be if the crew of the enterprise were engaged in a battle with star fleet command to provide healthcare for all of her crew.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said America will pay a high price if President Donald Trump makes good on his threats to scrap the Iran nuclear deal.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in New York, Rouhani said: “Exiting such an agreement would carry a high cost for the United States of America, and I do not believe Americans would be willing to pay such a high cost for something that will be useless for them.”
Rouhani said such an action by the Trump administration “will yield no results for the United States but at the same time it will generally decrease and cut away and chip away at international trust placed in the Unites States of America.”

        i can’t express…the emotions that i feel about this…the “compromise”…

i think of today….despite the fact that POC, blk folks in particular are the most reliable voters for the DEMS…they will not embrace us and build from there….they seek to make a compromise with the devil…Sanders and his folks…they seek to reach out to those elusive white voters while turning their back on POC…but they still expect us to vote for them…

It is time for POC to make real moves to demand seats at the table….and i don’t mean to be just the help…but to be the decision makers…

Joe Biden and wife, Jill Biden, kicked off the 2017-18 season of the Bryan Series, the annual lecture series put on by Guilford College. …
Biden said he’s worried that the United States is at risk of losing its leadership role in world affairs because some recent foreign policy decisions — he didn’t cite any specifically — have put American interests ahead of American values. … “… We are in the position — if our values sustain who we are — to be able to bring the world together in a way that it hasn’t been,” he continued.

“And here we are deciding ‘America first?’ Ladies and gentlemen, ‘Make America great again?’ ” … “We are by far the greatest, powerful, decent nation in the world. Ask yourself this rhetorical question: Do you think there’s any nation in the world — any leader — who would trade places with any place but us? …
